I dropped in on a bike ride yesterday and received a very warm welcome and had a nice cup of coffee with a nice touch of warming the milk for me and a perfectly toasted tea cake. Great pit stop place for cyclists.

Years ago I used to visit this pub on a regular basis, so I was very happy to see it is still trading, I stopped for a drink and remembered my visits. Good selection of beers - nice staff, a truly traditional pub, keep up the good work.

Second time visit attending the Big Fat Folk N Blues festival. Well organised and run festival, held in a lovely pub in the countryside. Enjoyable day both years - the pub welcomes bikers and the crowd was an eclectic mix of folk fans, bikers and general public. Good stage inside in the pub, decent sound desk (and operator), nice outdoor stage in the garden. Friendly staff behind the bar, single ale on handpump and 3 others on gravity in a back room. Back room with pool tables and table football. Good country pub, welcoming to all.

Dawn the landlady of our local pub goes the extra mile. Friendly, helpful and with normally a wide selection of ales. Tuesday night is quiz night, which sees the place fill rapidly, with up to seven teams competing. Lots of events throughout the summer. A good place to spend an hour or so.

Had 2 excellent meals here. Although eating alone I was made very welcome in this friendly village pub. Will call again next week when I'll be back in this area again.

Pleased to see this appear on Tripadvisor at last! Been a regular for 35 x years and would not have been so if the place wasn't so good! An excellent all round traditional pub with great music. It does exactly what it says on the tin! Visit and enjoy!

The pub here finds itself in incredibly pleasant surroundings in the Hampshire countryside. We were booked to play at the Folk and Blues festival they hosted over this last weekend; at first I was put off by the landlord's inability to realise that musicians, funnily enough, require food and drink like normal people, and we were not given anything complimentary as a venue hosting music should do. Despite this, those hosting and running the festival made us feel very welcome. The regular crowd at the pub appears to be a large group of rockers and bikers who, although seeming intimidating at first, were a very friendly and supportive bunch. The burger stand outside has a very good variety of burgers on offer, though perhaps slightly too greasy for my tastes. We still enjoyed the afternoon of working and listening to all of the great acts that were lined up to play. As for the drinks: not an outstanding ale selection, but enough to keep ale fans moderately satisfied. For a countryside pub, it's surprisingly good value and drinks are quite cheap. The beer garden was lovely and I'm very much looking forward to another Folk and Blues festival next year!

We dropped by here after a visit to Staunton Country Park. The cafe is dog friendly and really cosy. We enjoyed a huge Belgium waffle with whipped cream and fresh fruit, as well as coffees. The service is very friendly and speedy and the prices very reasonable.

Just called in on the spare of the moment, Monday night is burger night, amazing value, two well presented, well cooked burgers, each with a lovely basket of fries, served with a smile, garlic ciabata starter, washed down with a pint of Guinness (had to on Patrick's night) and a soft drink for the wife, all for under £40. We've eaten here 3 or 4 times and not been disappointed. Lovely friendly atmosphere and made to feel very welcome.
