Due to unforeseen temporary closure of another take away, we had an unexpected high demand of orders in the result of added wait time for orders tonight, especially any outside of Forfar deliveries which we have kindly expressed on the website during the placement of order & in the confirmation email. It is important to us that we update our customers so all is informed of what goes on. While the online orders were coming through, our printer was only able to print one order slip at a time ( In chronological order according to the time stamps of all online orders placed ) so the time confirmation email would have only been sent when we receive the physical printed order on our end. While we appreciate the unexpected flow of orders, our main priority ( and what always have been our main priority ) was that the orders are freshly cooked; maintaining our standards and not rushed or effected by the demand and are delivered immediately so they arrive to you fresh and hot to the plate. I spent 36.00 on food ghat I wouldn't even feed my dog. I had to stop at McDonald's to get something for my daughter because the roast chicken is anything but. Second time, though I’ll give it a fair chance. Food is inedible. Crispy noodles consists of uncooked egg noodles served with topping of 5 prawns and uncooked vegetables. Binned both dishes.

Fantastic portions, food is fantastic. Would not go anywhere else... fresh, tasty and really helpful if you make a mistake with your order. Myself, family and friends would not go anywhere else. Best Chinese food in Forfar in a very long time 👍

Have seen mixed reviews for this takeaway however I have used it regularly and find it good value for money. I order either online or via phone. The girl answering the phone is always pleasant. Delivery is usually quite quick - slower at weekend sometimes as to be expected. Overall very happy with the meals.

Waited over 2 hours from ordering food at 7pm, no offer to compensate for the wait, just kept being told it would be here at 8:50pm….still no food.

Ordered takeaway at 7pm. Was informed 30 mins later that it would now be 9.10 pm for delivery. No further communication. I contacted takeaway at 9.20pm to be told we will start cooking soon. Cancelled order. So disappointed. Similar incident in May but thought I would give them another try. Never again

As it was our last night at Forfar Caravan Site, we decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese Takeaway.. We ordered a set meal for 2 with adult. Spare ribs. They delivered quickly to the site, which was good. However, the food was not. The duck and ribs were dry and tasteless, the crispy beef was drowning in sweet chilli sauce and no longe crispy & the chow mien was limp and gloopy with 6 prawns. We normally love our Chinese, but this was possibly one of the worst we have had. Very disappointing.

Been to this takeaway a few times and each time it never lets me down. Brilliant food, everything tastes amazing. Food always delivered hot. Delivery time is never too long and especially on a Saturday it didn't take long on arriving. Will use again

Decided to try the Royal Kitchen for a take away. I ordered the spare ribs and crispy shredded beef. The ribs had been over cooked as they were tough to eat and didn’t fall of the bone as other ones do. The shredded beef was tasty enough but to much carrots in it and there wasn’t much beef in the dish. Will just stick to the Chinese take away that I usually go to.

Delicious food and fab service! 2nd time we have had takeaway from The Royal Kitchen and it’s now our favourite Chinese takeaway in Forfar! Also have to comment on the lovely girl at the end of the phone! So cheery and helpful, she is an asset to your shop.

Twice we have had food out here and twice had food poisoning. won’t be using it again. We had the chicken balls both times and in looks like it’s that.

Have tried a lot of the menu and for the most part, it's all been good - some misses but on the whole very tasty. I especially like the thin fried noodles and the chicken spring rolls. Unlike other Chinese, there is actually identifiable fillings in them. The hot and sour soup is also very nice and the munchy box is great value. Also, although I never order the beef dishes at a Chinese take-away, I really like the beef and veg dish - very light and the beef is so tender.

Thursday 12 Mar myself and my wife called in for a takeaway. I had chef special curry. Within an hour I felt sick and had severe food poisoning that took all weekend to get over. Never been this ill in all my life. I phoned them and they took my details. They have made zero effort to get back in touch. Disgraceful food will never use again.

We had heard good reviews about the royal kitchen so decided to try it. A chicken chow mien, a lemon chicken, a crispy shredded honey chilli chicken and a prawn one the same with various rice. Quickly prepared. I found the chow mien was a huge portion of very tasty noodles, but was a bit skimpy on the chicken and veg. The shredded chilli chicken was nice but again not enough chicken, ditto with the prawns and the lemon chicken was very lemony. I have given 4 stars as it was a very tasty, filling meal. Will try other dishes and will recommend.
