delicious food, never had a bad meal yet! salt and pepper dishes are amazing, but can't beat a hong kong curry. the chips are like no other and I wouldn't get a Chinese takeaway from anywhere else. 10/10

Absolutely the best Chinese in Angus area, a first class service, excellent easy to use app available to download. Taylor is excellent at customer service and orders are always correct, even the delivery drivers are nice …. I enjoy most food on the menu and order every week…. There new spring rolls/curry/rice is absolute perfection.

As coeliac disease sufferer it’s a huge risk eating out yesterday I ordered the chicken cashew with egg fried rice today I am feeling good no reaction at all. I hope it will always be like this here as it’s my new favourite.

Was there last week I ordered a chicken Maryland 2 portion of sweet and sour sauce and I got salt and chilli sauce chips . I phoned in at 3 pm and they never answered I tried 6 times on the 7 time they eventually answered that was about 4:05 . Am not from this part of the country but to have to wait an hour to order food was just outrageous. I will give them one more try as am back up here in March

Rude ‘man’ answers the phone! He’s obnoxious and treats customers with distain! The quality of food had gone downhill, as has the quantity! Overrated, and vastly overpriced!! Do yourself a favour, and save a fortune by going to Spicy Mos!!

We used to get lovely meals from here. Sadly now have to give 2 stars due to a piece of chicken cold and still frozen. Chicken Curry from here used to be lush,.There was no big chunks of chicken just tiny bits of darker meat. Rice was not fresh mouldy smell.

Ordered the bbq ribs as part of our meal and they came undercooked. Phoned to tell them and asked if we could get a refund, manager shouted at me saying he didn't do refunds and was incredibly rude despite me being understanding. We won't be going back and they seriously need to learn how to treat their customers.

Not as good as it used to be. Smallest portions in the town and the most costly. Not as many options as rest of Chinese’s. Spend over £30 and don’t even get free prawn crackers anymore. Defiantly won’t be back again.

Hong Kong has always been a great Chinese takeaway quality wise but the price to portion size is very poor and rapidly declining. Maybe just the delivery price added in- but £28 for 2 main meals and a spring roll is poor going. The portion size was so small too, they really are squeezing profits these days! Won’t be back

Normally I really enjoy my food from this restaurant however, tonight I have had an awful experience due to the man on the phone. After placing my order and waiting I was phoned by the restaurant. The man on the phone immediately began screaming down the phone at me that because they had tried to deliver the food twice they were not giving us the food. I tried to explain that myself and my husband had been watching the window and that nobody tried to deliver to us and they may have gone to union street instead of union place (as this has happened in the past). However, the man on the phone would not let me get a word in and continued his verbal abuse down the phone. This experience has left me shaken and just down right disgusted at his behaviour. I completely understand having a bad day at work however, this does not excuse phoning a paying customer and angrily shouting at them for something out of their control. This has seriously upset me and I don't believe I will ever support this business again. I would strongly advise other to avoid here as well. Overall this customer service has been shocking and not something I expect from a local business.

I’ve been dying to try this for a while and it was fabulous . We had a munchies box and so much food it it that there’s still some left over . Well done guys 👍

First time using this takeaway when we were staying in Montrose. Food was amazing, 6 of us got meals and everyone of us loved it.

It was ok. Food delivered quickly, hot, the curry was nice and spicy. It was weird that instead of lots of little spring rolls they just gave you one huge one, like eating a Greggs sausage roll, which wasn’t enjoyable. 3.5 stars.

When I got home. I had been given curry instead of gravy. When I phoned. I was basically told that's what you ordered. It wasn't, I don't like curry so why would I order it. Maybe you should check orders and not blame customers for you not hearing correctly. Terrible customer service.

Food from New Hong Kong in Montrose is good, served and delivered hot, prices have increased a fair bit though. Plus on last 2 occasions we phoned order for delivery their attitude was some what lacking, either rushed or slightly argumentative

Very tasty dispite how it looks. When I first opened the cartons I thought the food looked rather plain but was pleasantly surprised on how tasty it was. Absolutely full of flavour and didn't leave me with that horrible bloated feeling. Dispite not living in the town we will definitely be going back.

Had to wait a while for our food but o my god it was definitely worth the wait and well worth the money

Well, we've been 1st time in Montrose and wasn't sure where to get a good Chinese, so we just poped in in to the first one on our way. I don't like to do a negative feedbacks, but this time I have to. 1st. Chinese! Why the locals are cooking Chinese food? It spoiled everything straight away as the food was something like boiled or steamed instead of wok fried Chinese. 2nd we clearly asked for 4 portions, but got just 3 instead. I've been told to wait for 15 min, instead it took 30min, so decided to leave to order for a missing one. Instead we asked for an extra container to share one portion, but we've been changed an extra £1. Communication also was quite difficult. Not frendly, careless staff.

Always been great food and now delivery service is good especially for my Mother who can't get out now 😊

Here on holiday walked in tonight ordered a chicken curry fried rice and a kung po chicken fried rice chicken curry was bland but the kung po chicken was watery more like a tasteless sweet and sour only never went back to complain as the rain was on I would say avoid avoid avoid and this was 17 quid down the pan literally.

We tried a take away during the lock down and found the food average and flavourless. The Chicken balls and Sweet and Sour Sauce was the best of the dishes we ordered.

Use this takeaway regularly by far the best takeaway in Montrose the young boy who serves u is always polite well mannered and always helpful and makes it a pleasure to go in and get my food very taste and well priced try the ribs in brown gravy if u haven’t already

No need to change much when the food has always been good. Good honest Chinese takeaway. Shop is basic and a bit dingy but the food is and always has been very good. Cant go past it really.

Went here the other day and the portions were very small... Very expensive for what you got. I got a curry and it looked almost green. Didn't taste too bad but will definitely be sticking to yummy's food. The chips are decnet though! I wouldn't say the food was fresh and the counter assistant was quite rude... I wouldn't return.

having used this chinese only twice i would say its top notch food is brilliant would recommend it to everyone who asked

There is no shortage of takeaways in town but this is the place to go out of them all the curry is best anywhere in town and is always freshly made and piping hot

My favourite Chinese!! The sweet and sour ribs are amazing! Would also highly recommend you try the chips and the gravy is also amazing :,) In case you can’t tell, I love this place! Deffo worth the visit and prices are fab too x

Great Chinese takeaway, always consistently tasty, hot food. We’ve never had mixups or long waits with our orders which we’ve experienced with other takeaways in the past. Everything is cooked well and has plenty of flavour, the chow mein and sweet and spicy chicken are our favourites. The curry sauces can also be ordered as a side of sauce for dipping. Of all the times we’ve ordered food from here we’ve never experienced illness or bad service, so it’ll continue to be a favourite. Bon appétit

Woman behind the counter was absolutely horrible and for that reason alone my family will not use your takeaway again. We order takeaway 2 to 3 times a week but we won't use you going forward

Decent Chinese, no surprises when you order

We frequently have a carry out from here and have been doing so for about 40 years . The food is excellent and tastes the same as long ago. Service with a smile as usual. They make the best chips in the town.......all homemade chunky ones and they are even better smothered with the best curry sauce too. They have a vast menu and have been adding more dishes to it recently. Fabulous food.

I have had many bad experiences with Chinese takeaways and this was unfortunately another one. All I ordered was salt and chilli chips and 2 spring rolls. The salt and chilli chips were not chips but rather were soggy potatoes with very little flavour; we had to add seasoning to make them edible. Both spring rolls were absolutely covered in grease/oil and filled with bean sprouts and little else so were thrown away. We only used this takeaway as the one we usually use is closed for chinese new year and i can safely say it will the first and last time.

You are going to have to trust me on this one!! It is by far the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever been to! I ordered king prawn balls with sweet and sour sauce and a portion of chips. Well where do I start.. I received something which can only be described as soggy brown homemade potato wedges (these must have been the chips?!) which smelt burnt and rotten, they were completely inedible. I have no idea how they can call these 'chips'? And as for the king prawn balls.. it makes me feel sick even thinking about them, after taking one bite and quickly spitting it out, I realised the prawn was stringy with pieces hanging down and it smelt like it was totally gone off, the entire meal had to go in the bin! It was a complete waste of time and money. It baffles me how they are even in business selling 'food' like this!

Love the food from here, best Chinese by far! Just a pity they don't deliver.

Had a couple of meals from here whilst staying on buisiness, both were very tasty, hot and exactly what it said on the label. Portions were very adequate too.

Ordered king prawn sweet and sour. Sauce was watery, prawns not in batter. Quite a let down. Won't be going back better chinese elsewhere.

Fantastic carry out food at a good price. Good selection of oriental and European food for collection in the centre of town.

Normalmente viene aquí después de beber y es increíble, pero me han venido en días donde no he estado bebiendo y muy decepcionado. Una vez le pregunté si lo puede tener patatas fritas y queso y me dijeron que no lo hacen. Me pareció extraño que causa patatas fritas y queso por todas partes principalmente. Una vez ordenados alubias negras pollo con fideos. No puedo recordar lo que era, pero pensé que era caro para lo que me dieron.

We use the New Hong Kong all the time. Great Menu and value for money. Menu is of a good size with plenty of choice for all. Service always very quick. Worth a try if you have never tried before. You will try again.

The food here is average to good depending on what you order i suggest a chicken breast with no onions (not on menu) or for a quick snsck the chips and gravy or curry sauce are excellent

Place is not bad for a Take away although we did notice food standards seems to be slipping and not as nice as it used to be.Customer service skills I feel could be better.

La comida es genial, muy bueno pero un poco grasienta. No hay mucho de qué quejarse sobre la comida. El servicio bien, no hay nada que escribir ya que era llevar y sólo llevar. La única razón por la que le doy 3 estrellas era el precio. Arroz frito con pollo dulce y amarga con 2 mini rollitos de los vegetarianos era un poco más de 15 libras = $26-27 USD. Creo que es demasiado incluso para la Escocia altos precios. y eso no es incluyendo una bebida gaseosa // coca-cola de pop/etc.
