Ordered meal online. Took 2.5hours to come despite 2 phone calls to chase up. When did arrive food was cold and batter on chicken balls was soggy and doughy. Would definitely not recommend.

Sent wrong order asked for Mongolian lamb got beef chips were undercooked hardly any curry sauce on my chips and who put mozzarella on chips it's cheddar cheese you use

This is my go to Chinese on a Friday night. Prices are on par with other local Chinese takeaways. Food is very good, although can be a little inconsistent (I find that’s the case with Chinese food in general). While other posters have mentioned issues with delivery, I’ve never really experienced that. Generally delivery is within an hour, often much faster. In the many times I’ve been there’s maybe been one scenario it was late and the driver apologised and explained why - ultimately these things happen from time to time. They do a hot chilli chow mein which I’ve not really seen anywhere else. It’s absolutely excellent. Nice and spicy and comes with both chicken and beef. There’s also a mobile app where you can order your food which is a big plus. Other Chinese in the area (as far as I know) don’t offer any sort of digital option. Being able to pay by card is spot on. Over coming weeks I’ll aim to add more photos of a variety of meals.

You will struggle to find a better Chinese than here. All special requests have been catered for. Consistently excellent quality food delivered promptly by nice and friendly drivers. Online ordering is great when no cash to hand. We will be back very soon!

Terrible service! Went in to collect my order and because I had 15 2ps I was refused my order. I don't have loads of cash lying around the house since most places you can pay by card. I specifically asked how much it cost before I left so I could check if I had enough change, which I did (this establishment only accepts cash). The girl behind the counter wanted me to travel back to my house for 30p, I live 10 mins away that's a 30 min round trip if I went home for 30p the food would be freezing. I won't be back.

Best chinese I've had in a long time, the food is great, delivery is super quick. Would definitely recommend the dumplings. Only downside is the shop itself as it looks a little run down.

Telephone order placed @ 7:30pm, was told 1.5 hrs. I wasn’t in a big hurry so decided that would be ok 🤷‍♀️ 2.5 hours later my cold meal arrived 🤬 delivery driver was run off their feet but very apologetic & nice( I had actually forgotten that I had ordered!) . Looked at previous reviews, pity I hadn’t earlier, absolutely no point in contacting the place to either ask where your order is or to complain… too busy? Don’t be greedy then & shut your phone off!!!!!!

Golden wok give good portions compared with other takeaways in Carnoustie, im very happy with the food and if you spend over £30 you get freebies, spring rolls and crackers,what more would you want, im happy and the food is lovely

Ordered through the app at 725 with estimated delivery being 755. 815 I called asking where it was. I was told by a young miserable sounding guy that it would be no more that 20 mins. 30 minutes later it turned it. No apology for it being late. Luke warm, soggy chips, under done rice, soggy spring roll packed with nothing but beansprouts, more veg that anything in the curry 😒 think I'll avoid them now. Really disappointed, used to really like the golden wok!

Expensive, mushroom curry was nice but won't be back as prices too high

Ordered tea and waited an hour and a half on it coming , I then phoned and asked where it was and the girl had told me she had cancelled my order for no reason, so I then had to order my food again way past tea time and the girl was not even apologetic

Ordered chicken fried rice with sweet and sour sauce and prawn crackers, got home and I had been given chips and fried rice with sweet and sour sauce. This cost £12, total rip off. Dont reccomend.

Good food overall but miss old golden woks shredded beef, this version hard rather than crispy and batter not puffy.

Not edible. We ordered a chilli chicken dish which tasted 100% like plastic. Phoned to leave feedback - not even an apology. 🤷‍♀️ Huge waste of money as most of what we ordered went straight in the bin. None of my family are fussy eaters by any means but not one of us could eat this.

Worst Chinese meal I have ever had! Carnoustie doesn’t really have a good choice for Chinese food but avoid this establishment at all costs. The rice was a solid globular uneatable block, that was both boiled and fried rice. The chicken and beef dishes had obviously been cooked hours before and warmed up, they were not hot. Again the sauces were gluey and inedible. Overall a very bad experience and not one that will ever be repeated.

Odered a delivery. Came much prompter than the projected time which was good. The duck curry was more like duck fat curry however. Complained to the take away whom have still yet to reply.

Once again I had to return to collect part of our order. Food really was at best mediocre.

Last 3 weeks orders all wrong cold food complained got offered 10% discount food in wrong sauce. Avoid crap chinese

Shredded Deep fried beef was like rubber. Sauce like a jelly, probably from jar from coop shop. My first experience with this "restaurant" = no thank You...

Have ordered twice in the last month, both times it took over 1 hour 45mins to arrive. When I phoned to find out where it was they were rude and unhelpful. Wouldn't order from them again and definitely not recommend them.

Ordered a meal for our daughters birthday at 17:00. Got an email confirmation saying it will be delivered around 17:55. Called at 20:15 to ask about our food & got told we are really busy. If you're not happy we can cancel your order???!! 3 hours later & order had still not even left the premises. Then got told, my attitude was terrible & the order is cancelled???!!! Great customer service! Will never use again.

Food is very good although, I decided to get a home delivery this evening and waited more than 2 hours when I was told it would be an hour. It’s a shame as the food is great and the staff are so friendly. If I do go back I’ll be collecting to avoid the delay.

Went here for a takeaway meal while visiting Carnoustie. It’s obviously newly opened/renovated. The menu was extensive and the food we got was great. Portion sizes were perfect. Service was quick too.

Sweet chilli chicken was rubbery and tasted funny. Rice was good and everyone else's meals were fine.

Only used it once so have limited experience with them. Was disappointed with the food. Kung Po beef was crispy shredded beef in Kung Po sauce and the egg fried rice was over cooked and mushy

Decided on a Chinese home delivery. Wanted to try the Golden Wok as hadn't had anything from there since it reopened. Order was taken professionally, delivery was within the stated time ( fast for a Saturday evening ) and the two meals we ordered were very good. Must say the chips were excellent , more like chipper chips ! Will be ordering again.

Re-opened after being closed for a while. Had a Curry and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good sized portion and very tasty

I'm really fussy and don't often put a review up for fear of putting people off. Wow the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. Mongolian chicken was excellent as was crispy chicken in OK sauce. Hot fresh and delivered real quick. Only down point was chicken and sweetcorn soup lacked sweetcorn.

Als ich mit meinem Sohn auf Golf Tour in Schottland war haben wir eine Nacht im 19th Hole Hotel übernachtet. Ganz in der Nähe gab es diesen Imbiss. Wir haben uns dort etwas geholt und mit ins Hotelzimmer genommen. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt.

Hemos estado comiendo aquí desde que abrió, y honestamente puedo decir que la comida es siempre fresca y deliciosa. Usted no será decepcionado en la variedad y calidad del menú como muchos visitantes y lugareños. Para mí, el char sue es de primera categoría, pero puedes decir lo bastante bien todos los platos. By far an excellent take away service. The food is great and of a good standard and piping hot. prices were good and staff friendly. Great tasting food.

Mi familia y yo hemos estado comiendo llevar desde aquí durante al menos 10 años,en todo ese tiempo sólo tengo una vez quedado insatisfechos con la comida. comida fabulosas!! de lejos, el mejor chino llevar en Carnoustie/arborath como hemos probado la mayoría de ellos durante los últimos años, y ha sido decepcionante. Recomiendo encarecidamente el Golden Wok
