This place has gone completely down hill since Covid-19. It used to be a buzzing place with great staff, good beer and good food. Not now. The food is terrible, just fat , ,stodge or frozen, the drinks are so overpriced and the staff are just lifeless and not interested. This place used to have a real individual feel, but not now, feels just like another chain pub, cold, boring and corporate. As for the reviews, there is a clear pattern, it gets an honest review (usually negative) which is quickly met by one or two 5 star reviews, a clear sign of desperation by the management, a shame to say it, but best give this place a wide berth.

My wife and I popped in for tea as we were told to try their steak pie. I was not disappointed my wife had the chilli loaded fries . Extra water needed but very good. The staff were great especially Steph. She had good banter and we were very well looked after. Will be back .

Had a lovely catch up with old work friends on Saturday to celebrate a birthday. The surroundings were lovely as the staff. We all had something different the beef olives were lovely and the macaroni was good as was the rest of the food. Hope to return to try the curry which smelt great.

Met up with family in the ferry while visiting dundee, ended up going for lunch in this pub, staff was very pleasant and helpful, food was fantastic, even kids ate everything on their plate, definitely worth a visit for food and prices are very good and not stupidly over priced.

Dining room was busy but after waiting about half an hour I had to ask for drink order to be taken. One hour later we still hadn’t had any food which was ordered with the drinks. My 93 year old father was not only hungry but tired. We gave up and walked out. Totally unacceptable. All the tables in this area were pre booked therefore management should have made sure there was more than one member of staff working, saying sorry and were busy does not cut it. As a Broughty resident and a previous client I was embarrassed and disappointed.

We stumbled upon The Royal Arch owing to the restaurant at the Premier Inn being closed because of "No Staff". Well they did us a great favour as we found this lovely little pub restaurant. The food was excellent, well presented and very tasty. The 2 staff members were in competition to see who could give the best service and I have to call it a draw!! Thank you to both Daniel and Fife (written alphabetically) for the great service and banter. Two great young guys with so much to offer this world. Unfortunately for you, we will be back :) ..

Hospitality, second to none. Rouring fire, Tennant lager, served as the perfect pint, even Scotsrail train times live streamed. And all served with a smile. Thank you

Met up with family for drinks on Friday evening. Great atmosphere, good selection of beers, excellent bar staff and good value.

During my Saturday night visit, the bar area was busy, live sport was being shown. Very popular with the locals, who were very friendly. There was a choice of real ales, mine was in perfect condition. If I'm in the area again, I will definatley visit and recommend!! Cheers 🍻

Very poor menu for gluten free. Menu is deceiving. Says they have gluten free steak pie but you get no pastry. Also, says breaded chicken goujons gluten free but no its grilled chicken they make into a sweet and sour. One of the meals chill chicken masala, couldn't find the chicken. The other two meals were lovely. Royal Arch, you need to sort out your menu for gluten free.

Well priced meals and decent sized portions. Service could have been more efficient but staff pleasant enough.

Came across this cosy pub on my visit down to broughty ferry. Honestly speaking I couldn’t have stumbled across a better pub. The staff make you feel very welcome on arrival and the pub its self is a very cosy environment. I stayed for food and ordered the steak pie. 5 stars for the food. Came out hot and flavourful. Would recommend. If you’re ever looking for a place for a bite to eat or a couple drinks royal arch is definitely the place for you in the ferry.

Right next to the station for those pre train drinks! It is a great wee bar, lovely and quiet - but with a cosy atmosphere.

The sun was shining, we grabbed pavement tables & had a spot of dinner. Good selection of food on offer, and a wide range of drinks too. All very reasonably priced.

I went in to use the toilet and it was the cleanest toilet I have ever used. The staff were so friendly as I didn’t have card with me to make a transaction and I felt bad using the toilet without making a purchase. I will 100% be going back here for a drink in the near future as the staff were so friendly and the bar had a great selection of drinks.

Went to have lunch ,got menus and chose food we wanted.Charming young waiter took orders and then came back 5 mins later to say Food was stopped,kitchen was closed .He apologised profusely but we were left disappointed.We finished our drink and left .Due to this incident we won't be returning to Royal Arch again .

Extremely poor value, small portions, food over-priced.

Went in for a drink and food after hearing good reviews about the place. Girl came over and took our drinks order and brought drinks over and asked what we would like to eat. We gave her our order and sat and sat and sat waiting on food to arrive. We finished our drinks and decided not to wait any longer and asked for the drinks bill and complained about waiting so long. Server said oh I didn't realise you wanted food and this was the server who took our order. Managers reply was She got caught up in other things. The place was empty. Definitely won't be back.

Decided to try here for dinner,bad move, ordered a Southern fried chicken burger with chips and salad. The burger was horrendous,no flavour, definitely not Southern fried ,more like birds eye frozen,from the local supermarket,the salad was without any kind of dressing,my wife had scampi and chips ,these two meals took a whole 10 mins to prepare/cook/serve,very worrying. They do have a nice looking menu,but would stay clear of the so called southern fried chicken burger.

A fantastic warm welcome and an amazing selection of beers including real ales. This is our favourite go to pub in the ferry. The staff are a credit to the licencee.

I visited with a close friend of mine on Friday afternoon and what a lovely welcome we received. Lots of friendly attentive staff on hand. Busy atmosphere mid afternoon which is great to see in the current climate. We were lucky enough to find outdoor seating which we sat in all afternoon. Bar is located in a central location which gives the excellent chances to see any friends which may be walking by. Reasonably priced drinks and never a wait at the bar. Chilled out holiday atmosphere in the sun with lovely refreshing drinks. Glasses cleared from tables quickly and never a queue in the bathroom when I went. I didn’t have food on this occasion but will definitely be back another time .I must say though the bar snacks of warm nuts were yum! Thank you for your welcoming hospitality 😌

Food is in high quantity and is tasty but isn’t as good as it used to be. The salads here used to be legendary! The staff are so lovely and friendly

Usually only come here for drinks which is always great - service, drinks and beer garden area all really nice. This time, we came for a meal and that was really good too! Service was fab, portions were decent and lots to choose from on menu. Also nice atmosphere inside the bar / restaurant area too.

Had a lovely relaxing lunch in here yesterday I have been before and each time the service is excellent the food is excellent and the staff are very welcoming highly recommended

Simple fare ordered two burger meals and two drinks. Salad was fresh and OK. Burger was dry and tasteless. Fries were well fries like McDonald's. Ketchup in those annoying sachets that one struggles to open and not good quality. Tea was very watery and had to ask for another tea bag. McDonald's would have been better in comparison and25% of the price. Advice to proprieter, buy heinz ketchup, decent burger buns, decent fries and tea bags and you'll get 5 stars. The service I forgot to add was prompt and polite.

We were in need of sustenance and The Royal Arch was one of the few eateries still serving lunch today. We ordered the sharing cheeseboard and were not disappointed. There was plenty of cheese (stilton, brie & cheddar), chutney, hummus, olives, grapes, apple, oatcakes, bread...

This was without question the finest “fish finger” sandwich ever. Ridiculously good. They also let you know where the fish is from, really important. Waht it’s doing on the “lite-bite” menu I’ve no idea.Super nice staff too

I went to this with my family on a day out, the macaroni cheese was the best I've ever had and the rest of my family ordered the fish and they all loved it, the chips were nice and crispy and great staff.

Me encanta venir aquí. Mi última visita fue increíble, algunos amigos y yo pasamos por allí y obtuve mi habitual (pastel de carne) y nunca decepciona. El personal es muy amable y realmente es un pub auténtico increíble en Dundee. ¡Mi primera parada cada vez que llego a casa! ¡Altamente recomendado!

El sitio es espectacular, muy cuidado cada detalle, y el comedor separado de la zona de copas, lo cual se agradece para cenar de manera mas tranquila. La comida está espectacular, me pedí un creppe de marisco y pescado ( algo que no suelo comer) y me faltó pan para rebañar todo el plato, exquisito. El personal está pendiente de cualquier cosa que puedas necesitar , el servicio es muy rápido y bien presentado. Cabe destacar que toma el nombre de un arco que se construyó hace años en Dundee, que a posteriori se demolió, pero ellos tienen en el pub una piedra del arco original como decoración . Sencillamente genial

Decided to eat out last sunday for lunch. Have been before as we know the food here is really good.We arrived about 12.30pm and was quickly seated. Our server came and brought the menu and took our drinks order. We both ordered chicken and tarragon soup and when it came the taste was superb. One of the best soups I have ever tasted. My partner had the beef burger and my self had the fish and chipsagain the meal was delivered very quickly and piping hot. My partner is quite fussy about beef burgers and said it tasted amazing as for the fish and chips absolutly brilliant.Lunch or tea at the royal arch is always a winner in our book and can highly recommend this place
