Came for breakfast today. Decent choice in for breakfast and decent quality. However both times we have been in the pub is horrendously understaffed with only one person serving and a "manager" walking around.

Really good value, excellent service, specifically from Diane who went the extra mile.

Lovely food as always, we have the plant based chicken which takes 15mins to cook, and then add the rest of the veg makes a lovely dinner, Great value for money!

Jordan was perfect and a great asset to the company thank you

The carvery was great however I'd have liked to be able to take my leftovers home I did ask and was told its company policy not to facilitate this

Carvey was okay most of the veg were cold. Meat was lovely and had good choice was just spoilt by thr fact it was cold.

I booked a table for 3 on the APP. We had the Carvery, which was lovely. As the Carvery was on special offer that week, it was very busy but all the food was well stocked. The staff were friendly. Very happy with the whole experience.

Visited here today to take advantage of the £6 carvery deal. The barman was lovely as always. The food was delicious. If we ever want a carvery we always go here. Lovely staff and lovely food, highly recommend.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Restaurant temperature was perfect.

Food was fantastic, the service in particular our waitress Olivia was outstanding and so helpful and the atmosphere was so warm and cosy.

Very dissapointed all food cold, this was 13.30 ,no mashed potato no coliflower cheese ,lager left a bitter taste in my mouth .would not reccemend

If you want a hearty carvery then you've found the right place. Very good value for money. The place could do with a freshen up though, it looks a little dated and tired. All in all great traditional grub.

Went out 4 adults 1 teenager and a 2 year old . Very disappointing , beef burger had a funny taste . Asked for a plain chicken burger , came with salad . Wasn't a chicken burger but a piece of chicken . Ordered a side salad , had to ask for it after food was brought to table . Only had lettuce and onion ,no tomatoes or cucumber . When asked said they only did cucumber in sticks . No salad cream . Gammon was very fatty . Waited 20 minutes , had to ask for dessert . Had sticky toffee pudding . Which was hard around the edges and dry . A waste of £100 , shall not be going again .

We had a fantastic carvery on New Year’s Day which was very tasty indeed. The portion was just right and not sparse. The staff are pleasant and friendly too. It’s been a while since our palsy visit and it was certainly worth a revisit. Highly recommended

Diane our waitress couldnt do enough for us, she was polite and friendly will definitely visit again

A little late on this, but we had our wedding party/meal here back in June for just about 30 of our family and friends... the staff, management and kitchen were absolutely faultless and did everything they could for us, we had our own room and we were given a lovely free bottle of prosecco too. We decorated to how we wanted nothing was too much trouble, couldn't have enjoyed it more and was so happy with the way everything turned out. Thankyou again for such a brilliant experience on such an important day. We will be back for a visit very soon!

Brilliant service off Diane who went above and beyond. The food was also piping hot and freshly made. Always a wonderful experience.

Not bad but there was only one chef serving and we had to wait some time

Rang to see what time the carvery was on till and told 9pm arrived at about 8pm and found carvery closed

Food took over an hour to arrive, chips were cold. No explanation. Really poor. Burger didn't seem cooked.

Tried here the day we all went into lockdown,was very happy, been backck3 times since reopening, staff are happy and polite food is good and safety measures couldn't be better. I think this will be our new local as we normally travel to studley stonehouse.

Booked Christmas dinner for Xmas eve. Was ok but no turkey just a carcass left out throughout are whole stay. No turkey for Christmas dinner?

Sever lack of vegetable choices, the chef couldn't cope with the request to cut the meat thicker. The light above our table kept going out and the toilets are a 80s throwback and the dryer doesn't work.

Mash dry and chunky, roaster fresh but full of oil, definitely cooked in chip pan. Veg all dry, not worth £9.49. Used to be good. Not going again

Staff are lovely. Carvery is lovely. Plenty for your money. Some of the padding on the booths are a bit run down but the food makes up for it. Will visit again.

Di was brilliant, rushed off her feet but smiling and polite and accommodating when one of our part who was pregnant wanted mixed starters instead of a main. She was lovely, a value to your team.

We had visited before and enjoyed the carvery, but disappointed this time with the stingy amount of meat given to us. A very thin piece of turkey and a thin fatty piece of beef. So thin that it was impossible to taste it. Basically £9+for a plate of veg. Atmosphere ok and staff pleasant and helpful, but food very 2nd rate today.

Really nice buffet breakfast, beans and tomatoes could have been warmer as when we went up they had a slight chill on them maybe this was the positioning on the hot plate and tongs could be useful for toast to stop people touching slices they are not using.

Standards have slipped since our last visit. Quite disappointed.

Called in tonight and decided to have a good old fashioned fish and chips as it was Friday. That ranks as one of the best fish and chips I have ever had. The girls that looked after me after I enquired were Ellie and Kelly, top class service can't wait till my next visit.

I have always came here for my lunch carvery and I can not knock it but today we thought we would try the all you can eat breakfast when we got to the counter there wasn't any one around ( i now its self serve ) so we started to put food on our plates there was no sosage waited a min no one there so had to stop a staff member of the floor to ask waited for it to come out went further down the line to see there was no mushrooms no staff about so had to go and look for one she went to tell kitchen so had to wait again by the time they came out with the food that was not there we sat down to eat and our food was cold the only thing on my plate that was hot was the mushrooms it was my first time for breakfast and it will be my last time

Terrible experience today the bar was really slow only two people serving midday on a Sunday. Food was absolutely lovely but the service shocking we came for a birthday meal and supplied a cake. Once the meals were all finished I then informed the bar we was ready for our cake to be brought to us after about 20 minutes and still no cake to be seen I then went to speak to another member of staff to see what the hold up was, she said she will go and sort it as soon as she had cleared the table she was working on so that’s fine. After about another 15 minutes I spoke to another young lady who said ‘I’ll sort it’ and within 2 minutes she has come back to our table and not even trying to be discreet or get my attention says in front of everyone including the person the cake was for (whom it was a surprise for) ‘Do you know what the cake looks like because we have loads’ I then took her to the bar and she come back out with our cake first time so it can’t of been that hard to work out which ours was. She did apologise but it’s just a terrible service. And I ended up doing the cake myself in the end. And after all this we was then pushed to vacate the table as we had the table an hour longer than we originally booked for and I stated to the woman that we would of been gone an hour ago if the service was up to standard and we actually had the cake the first time I asked. We have used this pub of many occasions for meals and it’s always been lovely but today the service was a real let down.

Ist time here, enjoyed the food and nice quiet seating area. Would visit again.

Staff not very attentive We were in a room away from the main restaurant which was lovely as it was private but we also got forgotten about once the food had been brought out. We didn't see anyone else until they cleared plates. No one came in to check on the food etc. We also needed napkins to wrap pieces of birthday cake in but they hadn't got any as a delivery hadn't arrived. You would think been during peak time they would have sent somebody out to get some for that shift!!!! I asked if they had any blue roll in the kitchen we could have but that was refused to. One of the orders was wrong. Everyone else food was lovely including the carvery. The only complaint was the beef was very very fatty.

Diane was amazing looking after us and great with the kids and food was lovely as always.

We love this place, great value for money and hot, fresh carvery vegetables. Diane always looks after us so well and makes a beeline to come and say hello. Will be returning in a few weeks for my birthday 😊 xxx

Disgusting service ever wont be bothering spending my hard earned money again

Carvery is usually ok but last not it was a shambles only one man on who kept having to go In the back to get meat then potato’s then gravey also no beards were covered one chef kept touching his beard and didn’t wash his hands prob won’t be using again it a shame as the other times have been fine apparently there’s a new chef on obviously not very good

The carvey was good. The kids' chicken burger was not. My lad didn't eat it. It was overcooked and dry, and the bun was brittle and fell apart. I really was too tired and fed up with the service to say anything. The waitress was slow, and service was non-existent. Had to search for service. The woman behind the bar was a star and very helpful and addressed the service in place of the young waitress. The woman being mature and having common sense helped. 3 star for service just because of the bar woman. Otherwise, it would be 1 star service. Recommend the carvery for sure.
