Always love coming here for food. The food is exceptional everytime and the bar service is impeccable. Last time I came in Pauly and Ethan were amazing on the food and Jordan behind the bar was so friendly and welcoming.

Great variety of veg that was good Unfortunately, Dry overcooked pork and Beef ,meat portion size very meen..

Food was absolutely amazing, staff were so attentive too. Olivia H thank you for looking after us! Such a lovely dining experience. Will definitely recommend and return.

Lovely dinner for Mother’s Day. Had a lady called Maxine who was very helpful and accommodating, she bought some crackling to the table and supported us to use the side door to take my grandad out who is blind. She was wonderful. Thank you Maxine.

Was told we needed to sit outside when doing this we went in to the carvery got our food and sat back outside a member of staff said she couldn’t get us any salt or pepper also refused to give us a take away box as the left overs get “binned” Will not be attended again as staff are rude and have I no idea what there doing!

It was a friends birthday and he suggested we try here for lunch. We arrived at just after midday on a Monday, and as expected it wasn't busy. The first thing I noticed was we were expected to scan a QR code to order and presumably pay for food and drinks using a phone from our table. My friend doesn't have a mobile and I will not pay for anything via a phone for security reasons. We ordered drinks at the bar and found a table. We decided what we would like to eat and I went to the bar to order and pay if that was an option. Luckily they will take orders this way, otherwise we would have left. We both had a mushroom starter, I had gammon, egg and chips and my friend wanted bangers and mash. After paying, a scrap of paper was handed to me that simply said "sausages". For some reason didn't question it and no explanation for it was offered and the staff member vanished before I could have asked anyway. I assumed it was some form of receipt, but I didn't know. The starters arrived quickly and they were nice but nothing special. I was halfway through my starter when my main meal was delivered to the table. Cutlery and condiments were already on the table but there wasn't any vinegar for the chips anywhere. My food was served on top of a square of paper which was on the plate. The gammon wasn't what I expected, it was more like a couple of slices of boiled ham. The paper started to tear as I cut my food with a knife and before long the moisture in the food caused the paper to fall apart. I spent most of the time picking bits of paper out of the food before I could eat it! There was no sign of my friends main course. Eventually I managed to get the attention of a waitress and asked about his food. She asked what he had ordered and only then were we told that he had to take the scrap of paper with sausages written on it to the carvery area to collect the food himself. I wasn't told this at the bar when I ordered. The quality of the food was average for this type of establishment. There was "background" music playing throughout our time there which was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation. We eventually gave up trying as we were having to talk loudly and couldn't really hear what we were saying to each other. So based on the whole experience, we won't be going back. Just an update to this review. Someone at the round oak replied to my feedback. Apparently the gammon is hand carved from a joint. This doesn't alter the fact that it was spit thin and there wasn't much of it. They said vinegar is not put on the tables because they are mainly a carvery, but it is available at some type of "station" somewhere within the pub. We were not aware of this "station" or where it may be located or what we might be looking for. As we are only talking about a small bottle presumably, wouldn't it be a good idea to put it out on the tables rather than expecting us to go on walkabout on the hunt for something we are not even sure they have? They claim not to sell bangers and mash. Well somehow my friend who I was dining with managed to have this on his plate, eventually. I don't recall him leaving the premises to collect it from another establishment or bringing it with him from home, so I think it's a fair bet he did get it from here. I made a comment about the "background music" being so loud that we gave up trying to have a conversation. They said if we had asked, we would have been guided to a less noisy area. As the staff were as abundant as the crew of the Mary Celeste this wasn't possible.

The staff were very helpful, the food was delicious and me and my children had a lovely time! We booked last minute and Allan managed to get us a table. Thank you so much!

It's a decent place only tried carvery which is good and all u can eat ice cream kids love it

We celebrated a 30th birthday, suitable for all ages and Olivia was very accommodating as were all the other staff. Carvery was lovely, as was the atmosphere 😊

Really lovely atmosphere for everyone, plenty of parking, amazing quality carveries and delicious desserts. I would recommend to the whole family! If you have any dietary requirements, just let them know and they’ll accommodate for anyone.

Always go here for a carvery. Love it. Had a couple of off days when I've gone up for the carvery and something is missing, but they tend to bring it out pretty quick. They do specials on certain days. I've had the pizza, was tasty. Defo worth booking a table in advance. Always pretty busy if you're trying to just walk in.

Had a carvery. Party of 4. 2 had the scant scrapings from a turkey that had been there a long while and 2had to wait while a new turkey was produced. Despite the fact that we requested that we were served together the chef was not helpful and 2 of us had to eat our cooling lunch whilst the other 2 waited for the new turkey. This is the second time that this has occurred. Not good enough.

Came for breakfast today. Decent choice in for breakfast and decent quality. However both times we have been in the pub is horrendously understaffed with only one person serving and a "manager" walking around.

Had the all you can eat breakfast , great choice & plenty to fill your plate , very pleasant staff , special mention to Alan who made me a lovely cappuccino, look forward to returning with my family

Had a lovely time after bouldering. Jordan was especially nice and gave a great service. Would definitely go again.

So disappointed, food was terrible, we went for a family meal and everybody was eating at different times, food wasn’t very warm when it arrived and just basic rubbish. Toilets were filthy too along with the seats. Will not return or recommend

I have visited multiple times over the last few months with family and have been very impressed with the carvery, burgers and Pizzas. All the staff are pleasant. Emily P always has a smile on her face, is friendly, professional and accomodating.

Carvery good value and plenty choose from.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Round Oak for bottomless prosecco and pizza. We upgraded to the cocktails option and the thought it was excellent value for money. Our 90 minutes didn't start until pur first order was put through, which I thought was great as with most bottomless deals, your time starts as soon as you're seated. Although staff were busy and sometimes we had to wait a little while for our drinks, they were still very aware and apologetic about it. Our server (Jordan, I think she said her name was) was lovely. She even said she would start our time once we ordered pizza as our first drink order took a while. The first pizza I ordered wasn't available so she even added and extra 30 minutes onto our time to make up for it. We didn't have room for a second pizza but we were allowed to order another one and they gave us takeaway boxes for it. Thank you Jordan, you really went above and beyond and made our experience a great! I will definitely return to do bottomless at The Round Oak again.

Worst carvery around,previous visit wasn't great but we thought we'd give it another chance,big mistake,very little choice of veg,stuffing was dried up and tasteless,The amount of meat given was like a child's portion,overall very poor quality,overheard other diners saying similar things to ourselves,if they charged £2 it would be to much,,,,,,

Everything was really nice on the carvery . The meat was cooked to perfection and the roast potatoes were just how I like them. The staff were nice and friendly and we did not feel rushed.

Absolutely love the Round Oak, the staff are fantastic, the carvery is always well stocked and the food has always been delicious. We've been about 10 times now and always had a fantastic experience. Highly recommend.

Took the family to the stone-house merry hill today and Jordan and staff are really nice, always smiling. Me and my partner had roast dinner, the roast potatoes are the best I've had,the kids had the pizza they are freshly bake all the staff are really nice, always happy to help definitely recommend going again

Went there today for dinner with the family, had a relly good cavery the beef was tender the girls had chicken nuggets and the wife had a stettson burger with looked great would recommend this to anyone

Worst carvery I've had in a while, after paying for an XL carvery + pigs in blankets I was surprised to see there was no beef and only undercooked turkey (you could see the pink bloody meat literally dripping with blood and a small dried up piece of gammon it looked disgusting, I questioned the chef about the blood and he said "that's not blood" lol ok pal ! 😂 😭. I passed on the meat, and tried the veg, it was watery and gross even the cauliflower cheese tasted watery, the gravy had veg and mash floating inside and didn't look appealing at all, very understaffed took a while to get served had to ask where the chef was? Women on the bar gave me a free pint in compensation for the dire food which neither of us ate. The pint was nice but I would never eat here again or recommend it to anyone the food was absolutely disgusting...

Had a lovely cravery last Friday 16th at The Round Oak Stonehouse merry hill We booked a table online the whole process took about 1 min and simple to use We were greeted at the door and shown to our table by a lovely lady named Danielle who looked after us all evening serving us drinks etc , food was excellent with a choice of 4 meats and plenty of vegetables available The surrounding was nice and warm with temperatures outside -5 all the staff were very attentive promptly cleaning tables etc overall a pleasant couple of hours enjoying our meal We will definitely return

Terrible experience!! Popped in today to not even be greeted or acknowledged. Food was cold as if it had been sitting on the side for ages before they brought it out and the service was outrageous. The carvery was cold as well Waited over an hour for food even though the place was empty as it was only 2/3pm. The staff dumped the plates down on the table and left straight away. When the mains finally came out they left the dirty plates from the starters on the table even though the plates were finished. The staff didn’t even come over at all to see if we were okay and enjoying the food even though the place was empty. The staff just seemed like they didn’t care and didn’t want to be there. Would not be going back!!

No one here to greet when you come in. No one is at the carvery you have to wait. They won’t let you take any of your food home. “ policy” never heard of that before. I take leftovers every single time I go for a meal and their attitude was belligerent and defensive when I asked to take it home they seemed agitated both the chef and the woman behind the bar. They won’t give a take away box I even asked to buy one but they wouldn’t even listen to me kept cutting me off. Won’t be coming back

Very nice eatery, wasn't too busy when I ate but could imagine it gets full, it has a nice variety on the menu, not too much, carvery was brilliant, cooked well and definitely filling, the all you can eat breakfast was just as nice, good variety and cooked well, overall a very pleasant experience, would eat here again and recommend to others!

Lovely food as always, we have the plant based chicken which takes 15mins to cook, and then add the rest of the veg makes a lovely dinner, Great value for money!

Carvey was okay most of the veg were cold. Meat was lovely and had good choice was just spoilt by thr fact it was cold.

I booked a table for 3 on the APP. We had the Carvery, which was lovely. As the Carvery was on special offer that week, it was very busy but all the food was well stocked. The staff were friendly. Very happy with the whole experience.

Visited here today to take advantage of the £6 carvery deal. The barman was lovely as always. The food was delicious. If we ever want a carvery we always go here. Lovely staff and lovely food, highly recommend.

Very dissapointed all food cold, this was 13.30 ,no mashed potato no coliflower cheese ,lager left a bitter taste in my mouth .would not reccemend

If you want a hearty carvery then you've found the right place. Very good value for money. The place could do with a freshen up though, it looks a little dated and tired. All in all great traditional grub.

Went out 4 adults 1 teenager and a 2 year old . Very disappointing , beef burger had a funny taste . Asked for a plain chicken burger , came with salad . Wasn't a chicken burger but a piece of chicken . Ordered a side salad , had to ask for it after food was brought to table . Only had lettuce and onion ,no tomatoes or cucumber . When asked said they only did cucumber in sticks . No salad cream . Gammon was very fatty . Waited 20 minutes , had to ask for dessert . Had sticky toffee pudding . Which was hard around the edges and dry . A waste of £100 , shall not be going again .

We had a fantastic carvery on New Year’s Day which was very tasty indeed. The portion was just right and not sparse. The staff are pleasant and friendly too. It’s been a while since our palsy visit and it was certainly worth a revisit. Highly recommended

A little late on this, but we had our wedding party/meal here back in June for just about 30 of our family and friends... the staff, management and kitchen were absolutely faultless and did everything they could for us, we had our own room and we were given a lovely free bottle of prosecco too. We decorated to how we wanted nothing was too much trouble, couldn't have enjoyed it more and was so happy with the way everything turned out. Thankyou again for such a brilliant experience on such an important day. We will be back for a visit very soon!
