I go in for breakfast a couple of times a week.. The food has always been excellent and staff lovely.

Can't beat Wetherspoons breakfast for value. Eggs Benedict for me

Good food and drink at the right price

Classic witherspoons, great location! Simple open plan layout, large bar and good drinks selection. There is plenty of room here for groups of friends family etc Many tables and chairs, for a meal, plus a great atmosphere. Being honest, I mostly have positive comments to say.. But the only thing! For me, In my opinion, The staffs attention to waiting customers, professionalism, and communicating needs attention.

3rd visit to The Rose and Crown, for what you pay food is OK, certainly wouldn't win Michelin Stars but VFM hard to beat. Always busy so it shows how popular this place is. Staff are really friendly and work hard .

I had a jacket potato with baked beans. The potato was very dry and the baked beans were cold. Absolutely awful 😖

Come here literally several times a week, I'm a regular for a reason. Food is great, service is great, always able to find a seat if you come at the right time.

Proberly one of the worst JD weatherspoons I've ever been to. Food was great but my mood and tummy wasn't? Reason for that was because I ordered my food at 17:14 and got it an hour late all because the table order was wrong. (Not my problem) and everyone else gets their food before me which was so unfair. Asked a staff member where my food is and she turned around and said the table number was wrong and said she'll look and see if it was ready 10 mins she never came back went to ask another staff member and complaint to him about my food. He said he look into it then he finally arrives with my food which was waiting yet again for an hour. I understand it can get busy but best things for sure when a customer orders food at the counter first come first serve. I'd suggest sorting out the table numbers before worrying about some other customers food. I litrelly was about to put my foot down and was about go up to the counter to demand a refund for wasting my time. Absolute joke

Nice pub ,gets very busy so if more than 2 of you wanting to eat you need to get there early as not many 4 seat tables . Lots of 2's or high stalls to sit on opp bar area. Drinks are super value, 2 large glasses rosè only £5.90 🎉

Have been to lunch here several times. It is cheap, but good, tasty and hot. Recommend the paninis

It was my first ever visit to a weatherspoon pub . I had a chicken wrap and chips and a pint. The food was presented nicely and well cooked . I also had a doom bar, and the pub was clean. The food was tasty, and so was my drink. The price was great lunch for two and two drinks £17.34 That's good. I will be back . Thanks to all at the Queens head. See you soon .

Friendly, welcoming and cosy very busy pub. Used the online app and had food and drinks within 10 mins, great choice of foods and most includes a drink. Excellent value and service. :)

25/9/24(2nd visit) Called in after a meeting with friends, Fish n chips was good, wife enjoyed Korean chicken dish, service was very good with checkbacks on food. Quite busy pub for a Wednesday 1st visit Nice spacious pub serving the usual great value food N drinks, a bit messy with tables not being cleared.

A welcome road stop, using the app is so convenient, no queuing to order or waiting for the bill at the end. Always good value, my Steak was spot on however food lost a star since my wife said her lasagne was not hot. Also didn’t seem to be any fruit teas for her.

We intended to just 'pop' in for a lite bite but when we saw what was on offer that went out the window. I had the pan seared duck and it was divine it really was absolutely mouthwatering, my wife had the fish and chips but it was in no way your regular dish in fact we were very impressed at the 'chips' approximately 5" long and well over an inch wide but they were cooked to perfection with such a subtle crunch they were gorgeous. The service we received was 10/10 by the woman in white whose name I regrettably failed to ask for. In short a very nice quiet place to eat and extremely nice food excellent service and a good price. I will most definitely recommend coming here.

Maldon is a lovely place, you are spoilt for choice for eating places, but if you want plain English food, there are not many choices,enter Weather spoons, clean and tidy, the typical wetherspoons menu, brilliant value for money, staff were efficient and polite, service was speedy, food was very acceptable

Wow a pub garden with a no smoking and vaping area. Unfortunately you have to walk through the smoking area to get to it. One step at a time. Staff pleasant. Really clean to . Well worth a visit. Just remember to duck, even I have to at 5ft 4. 😀

Beautiful pub, however the cask ale was rancid and tasted of vinegar. Please give basic sensory training to your staff. Crazy cheap. Pleasant & hard-working staff.

A very welcome Stop in Town. By far the best value price wise of any other pub. Clean, busy and spacious.

Lovely little spoons this, one of the cheaper ones, food was quick and loads of seating.

Had a small wrap and coffee. Very good value for money. The pub itself is well kept, not big and the staff friendly. There's a good atmosphere in there especially at lunch time. Very nice place to eat and drink, I would definitely go there again.

Had a full English breakfast - food was great, value for money, atmosphere is great. I am a regular customer. Just a small area for improvement - please keep tables clean. Well done and keep up your hard work, I will be coming back! Thank you ;)

It's a weatherspoons u get what u pay for OK food at a OK price good beer at good price... We eat here because if kids don't like it the pocket is still in tact.... Its OK eaten worse for more.

As good as any Wetherspoons Pub. Nice local history on walls. Expect sticky tables, but ask for a clean and they will oblige.

A nice Wetherspoon to visit in a historic building that is well converted. Usual staples with good selection of good and drinks offering decent value for money.

Every time we try to get in there is no room and people sit nursing a drink taking up a table for four. Not fair for people who want to sit and eat

Never had food, just a lovely cup of coffee

A good friend and I meet here about one a month as it’s got a great atmosphere, prices are very reasonable and I’ve never had a bad meal from there in the past few years. The staff are friendly and efficient (especially Kim who we always have a quick chat with). If I had to find a negative it would be the Internet access in there – the phones mobile signal is quite bad so I think everybody is trying to use the Wi-Fi which is horrendously slow on busy periods and sometimes make it extremely difficult to use the app and order food/drinks. (Maybe a computer guru could allow Wetherspoons app to have priority on the Wi-Fi which would really really help)

A nice Wetherspoon's. An old pub still going with the usual Wetherspoon's fare but that's why we like them and it was very busy so we weren't the only ones.

I like this pub. It's pretty big and got plenty of seating. There's both quite initmate seating areas and bigger areas that are more in the open. Very suitable for lunch but also good for late night drinks. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. The general atmosphere is good. The place can be crowded but that makes sense since it's a good pub.

Food is a good price, but you get what you pay for, my steak was supposed to have 3 onion rings, but only 1 and 3/4, it wasn't great. My partner food had aluminium foil stuck on the bottom of it, do your staff know how dangerous Ingestion of aluminium foil is !!!!!!! Perhaps Tim Martin would like to reply

I arrived for a meal at peak time..12.45 on a Tuesday. Thinking it might be quiet,but I guess they are well known for good reasonable meals. Needless to say, it was busy,and we found the last table. Somebody came straight away to take our drinks order. We ordered food not long after that, and it arrived at our table withinin a short while. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. There's is a public car park to the rear,so you have the opportunity to go for a walk along the promenade to see the barges to walk off your meal or wander around the shops. A very good place to go. I would recommend

For context this was Wednesday afternoon - so customers but not crazy like I imagine Friday/Saturday nights. Great festival alea at a decent price. Good service... Pleasant atmosphere with WiFi - handy if like me just fancy an ale and listen to some podcasts. I didn't try the food but the menu is excellent and from previous experience of Wetherspoons , I'm sure it's decent

Typical Wetherspoons, good value and good food options. Ordering by the app works well. Lots of space inside and some outside. Good location in the high street with Butt Lane car park behind.

Usual Spoons food and drink. Good alue and friendly staff. As usual much to loud.

I have become a big fan of Weatherspoon, they cater for vegans, have the best selection of none alcoholic beers I found anywhere and you can have as much coffee as you like.

For a Wetherspoon pub this was great. A historic building in the middle of the High Street in a very nice little town in East Anglia! We didn't realise it was a Wetherspoon until the menu showed up, so pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and well prepared food. Everything was top notch for our impromptu day out in Maldon.

Miserable staff. Slow service. The beer might be cheap but this place is soulless. If you're a manager and the bar is busy SERVE people...don't stand around chatting. You're no more important than any other employee.

Good service, very busy, good atmosphere

One of Wetherspoons better establishments. Has a traditional pub feel to it. Only downside was we were a large group and at last orders a couple of is waited at the bar to be served then the bar person said they were closed. When we said we were waiting from before closing time they said the manager wouldn't allow them to serve anymore. As the 8 of us were all having a 'nightcap' it seems Mr Martin missed out on a few quid there. Apart from that it was fine.
