Best Chinese in heybridge! Been using them for years

Tried this takeaway for the first time a couple of weeks ago and were glad we did. The food was really tasty, the portion sizes were generous (especially the satay chicken on skewers) and the service was friendly. Couldn't fault it and will be definitely be ordering from here again!

We had our first takeaway from here tonight and we wasn't disappointed. Lovely hot food. Very tasty. Will definitely order from again.

We have used many times always been very good but, delivery on Sun. 16th July bad news, crispy duck good, sweet & sour chicken rubbish as though it had been reheated and the same with special fried rice and special rice noodles, when phoned to complain got brush off. So new take away required.

Absolutely amazing dinner for our friend’s 50th birthday! MeiKwong helped us to cook the giant lobsters into a dish that everybody loves when our BBQ plan failed by the weather!! A huge surprise for our friend and she couldn’t stop eating! Fantastic Hong Kong style stir-fry and you won’t forget the taste! Delicious spring rolls, chow mein and yummy prawn and chicken balls. Thank you for such a yummy meal! Nowhere we would go for our Chinese food!

Not great! First time delivery from here, i orderd meal for two, bland food, tiny sweet and sour sauce not enough for two, chicken balls cut into slices to make it look more in quantity, ribs were tender but had a thin flavourless sauce, came with reheated sliced chicken breast on beansprouts, flavourless, i threw it away, wont buy from here again, waste of £26

Overpriced and poor quality we ordered 1/4 duck and pancakes were like glue could not use them, when I Phoned to explain they had no interest.

The quality of the food compared to the price you pay just isn’t worth it . Disappointing May as well go out for a sit down in a nice restaurant

Food was really good and delivered hot. We found the portions were a little small (or expensive for the size). One of the only Chinese's in Maldon which is open on a Monday!

Best Chinese ever want more lovely people especially the young geeza at the front taking orders what a lively chap wish there were more miners like him

ordered some lovely sweet n sour chicken balls i recommend them crispy batter juicy chicken in the middle, i also recommend ordering the chicken chow mein it was amazing the young fella at the front was very professional and a brilliant lad

I really enjoy this food, I especially enjoy the chicken fried rice, chips and the curry sauce, the delivery was very fast and the delivery driver was very polite and treated me with respect. I recommend using this takeaway.

Best Chinese in our area by far. Food arrived nice and quick and was very nice, big chunks of meat and lots of it. The salt and chilli chips are very moorish.

Good good. Pretty fast as well. I came in on Christmas Eve and wasn’t best impressed when the young lady on reception kept answering the phone to take orders right infront of me before I’d ordered. Still 5* because she is very polite

Worst Chinese I have ever tasted. Lack of flavour, everything greasy with stodgy batter. Sweet and sour was like jelly couldn't even be poured onto food. Missing ingredients in other dishes. Very disappointed as food is not edible. Will not be ordering from here again.

Absolutely fantastic food, I would go as far as to say, one of the best tasting Chinese takeaway I've had don't ever lose your chef, I honestly can't criticised one thing and being able to pay by card at your front door is another box ticked

Ordered a meal was meant to take half an hour was 2 hours before i recieved a stone cold bag of tins filled with slop that gave me food poisening and had me off work for 3 days, when i called to complain was spoken to very rudely and was even threatened. Shocking display of customer service and proffesionalism

I was so hungry after a long day at work. I really wanted to order from my usual Chinese but it was closed due to refurbishment so I ordered from Mei kwong. I was a bit apprehensive as I had never ordered from this establishment before. But I was so disappointed with the food I received. Everything was cold and everything was far too salty. I couldn’t eat any of it. I ended up giving it to my dog and even he didn’t want it. Ended up going to bed hungry. I will not be ordering from this place again

Had a meal from Mei kwong Fast delivery and food was delicious will definitely be ordering again. Top marks to the chef Thank you.

Not used Mei Kwong for a while, so not sure how it would be. Sadly i ordered our meal at 17.45 All good. Will be an hr....Waited patiently for delivery. 18.45 "be here any minute now". 19.00. Oh perhaps they are very busy. I'll give them a call to check. I telephone 52 times, with engaged tone..... during the following hr. Omg, not waiting any longer, started to cook Sausage sarni.... Chinese delivery arrived at 20.10. Turned him away, & absolutely no apologies, & a shrugged sholder.... The moral of the story is. WE WILL NOT BE USING MEI KWONG IN FUTURE.....As you can see my Birthday take away didnt go as planned.

Ordered for the first time took 2 hours and 4 phone calls and I still haven’t received it yet! Not impressed won’t be using again Update - we then went to pick it up.....it wants to be half decent! Won’t be ordering again though

Have used this take away for 20 years and the quality is and has always been amazing. This is the best Chinese take away within miles of Maldon if not Essex and anyone who says different needs to seriously take a look at themselves.

Sadly not very good. Everything tasted of old fish oil. I guess a lot of it is all fried in the same oil but it made everything taste rather unpleasant. The sweet and sour chicken balls were mostly batter and rather oddly were not balls, more like slices of a sausage roll. The prawn crackers were ok but was about it, the only well fed ones were the dog and the bin. I won't be using Mei Kwong again.

Food isn’t great, expensive for quality and portions. China garden next door is better only tried this one as china garden was closed. Won’t be using again
