Stayed for two nights at a Crowthorne Hotel with no food facility . Checked out breakfasts in Crowthorne which weren't part of a chain . I had two excellent English Breakfasts and very reasonably priced for a very expensive part of the country . Ideal for a lunch or brunch

Stayed at hotel with no meal facilities. I always look for independent places for breakfast and looked on line . Very welcoming and despite being in a very expensive area I had a Full English Breakfast which very high quality at a very reasonable price for Berkshire

My husband and I went to Daruchini for an early meal, there was only one other couple in the restaurant, we ordered and our popadoms arrived which we enjoyed with all the pickles. After an hour I asked the man who appeared to be in charge where our meal was , he went to investigate and two warm plates were put on our table, the food arrived about five minutes later but the plates had got cold by then. The food was very nice and we both enjoyed our meals , asked for the bill which was put on the table and then the waiter said to pay at the bar which we did , the same man processed our credit card and never said a word about our experience, would have expected him to ask if we enjoyed our meal and to say sorry for the wait.

I actually went next door for fish and chips but they are "cash only" so I ended up ordering from J3. Chatting to the guy there, the place went under new ownership in November 2023, so very recently! I ordered crispy chilli chicken and egg fried rice. Although the dish had red chillies in it, it was not hot (in spice) at all, however it was quite a pleasant dish and a good portion size. Although it's hard to judge fairly on just one dish, I was only eating for me so there you go! I was not blown away by the meal but, conversely I ate all of it and it seemed better than the J3 (or even Forest Chinese before that) of old, which was inconsistent at best. My favourite Chinese is still easily Dragon House in Birch Hill, but the J3 seems better under new management.

Good food, not rushed, friendly staff. The haddock was spot on as was the ribeye. A very pleasant and relaxed Saturday afternoon. Good parking.
