J3 Chinese Takeaway in Bracknell Forest

I actually went next door for fish and chips but they are "cash only" so I ended up ordering from J3. Chatting to the guy there, the place went under new ownership in November 2023, so very recently! I ordered crispy chilli chicken and egg fried rice. Although the dish had red chillies in it, it was not hot (in spice) at all, however it was quite a pleasant dish and a good portion size. Although it's hard to judge fairly on just one dish, I was only eating for me so there you go! I was not blown away by the meal but, conversely I ate all of it and it seemed better than the J3 (or even Forest Chinese before that) of old, which was inconsistent at best. My favourite Chinese is still easily Dragon House in Birch Hill, but the J3 seems better under new management.

I purchased a beef curry last night. The food is getting worse. The curry sauce was simply cold. I am sick of complaining. I have asked in the past please make my food hot. You then get it so hot you have to wait for it to cool down. Now not going to bother again.

Haven’t eaten in here for serval years due to various reasons but I heard it had been taken over so I decided to try it. Can’t describe this other than shocking. Surely Chinese food can’t be this bad? Ordered an A2 for one which consists of a spring roll, crispy chicken balls and beef with green peppers and egg fried rice. Firstly, spring roll was nice, not to greasy, good filling can’t complain. Moved onto the chicken balls, had clearly been frozen or cooked several days ago, soggy batter, oozing fat and literally inedible. Moved onto the beef and I thought this might be a winner!!. I was wrong. Greasy, flavourless and clearly reheated - pointless. This place may be okay on a Friday or Saturday night when busy, but midweek my suggestion is to avoid!!

Sweet and sour chicken was dreadful. Undercooked and oily batter with chewy gristly chicken. Will not be going here again

Surprised that no covid precautions in place at all, despite large crowds in some areas. Not even hand sanitiser. At times felt quite vulnerable

Thank you everyone at J3. I ordered a chinese for my birthday meal and I am a regular customer as this is a lovely place. The tea was successful and thanks for the free spring rolls! Lovely food and very good service. My family was delighted and so was I. I am in awe of the chicken and cashews. One very happy customer.

This takeaway is best in the area! The staffs are really friendly and dishes are full of flavour! Highly recommended

Hadn’t used this takeaway place for a while. Decided to go there yesterday and ordered the usual dishes for the takeaway, which I like to share with my husband. It was delicious, as always, we enjoyed our meal very much. Will come again soon for another treat... 😋
