The Rodney in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

8 of us on a golf weekend. Booked months in advance but on the night they had no record of booking. Fortunately, even though it was a Friday, they weren't busy so could fit us in. We chose the banquet for 8 (c) and the food that was served up was amazing. High quality from the sweet and hit soup, to aromatic crispy duck pancakes, starters and many, many main dishes Serve throughout by the waitresses was excellent. Highly recommend.

Sadly the food was awful, first time customer, thought would try them but very disappointed. Staff were lovely but NOT the food.

Really disappointed as we’ve enjoyed this Chinese until today. Salt and pepper chips - Some chips were crunchy and most were grey, like when you peel a raw potato and leave it to sit for a bit and it turns brown/grey. We ordered sweet and sour prawn balls but got chicken balls. (This has happened numerous times now). The batter was also grey for some reason and chicken was tough. Sesame prawn toast was dry and a bit burnt. As mentioned, we’ve had this Chinese many times, only issues being were incorrect items but after this time with all the problems with the quality of food, I’m afraid we just won’t be coming back.

We ordered delivery and it was some of the best chinese weve had in a long while! There was lots of meat, lots of veg (black beans in the black bean sauce which I have never seen before!) And it was delivered within 30 mins! Really, really good.

We always get our Chinese take away from here. It’s delicious, good service and good price. Portions are generous and staff are friendly. We loved the chicken curry with fried rice and chicken balls. Highly recommended.

I had a Takeaway from here Saturday night when was camping out in my van the service was quick and friendly I only waited just over 10 mins on a Saturday evening for my food which was egg fried rice chicken satay with mixed vegetables and a portion of chips and the food was Hot and tasty and very enjoyable would be happy to use again when in the area

Tried them for the first time tonight when we bought dinner for a friend's birthday. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was probably the best Chinese we have ever had. Had a wide variety of items including beef with tomato, orange chicken, young chow rice, egg fried rice, pork balls and chicken balls. Among other menu items. All was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Will be frequenting regularly and highly recommend.

If you want a Chinese in Saltash there's only one place.The Rodney Chinese! Freshly cooked, tasty and very well priced.

It was the best Special Fried Rice that we have had for years,everything was cooked to perfection,and excellent portions. The service was also very good. I would highly recommend them.

First time ordering from here tonight, as recommended by a good friend ( now in question ). Can honestly say this was the worst Chinese I have ever experienced, chips were possibly from previous evening, beef was jellified, all in all an awful meal. Will most certainly not be using again, or recommending. # 1starwouldbeanoverstatement

Popped in tonight at very short notice for a takeaway, Superb. The one place in Saltash that you can constantly rely on to be top quality. Why go anywhere else?

egg fried rice tasted like smokey bbq and there was egg shells in it. crispy sweet and sour chicken was so vinegary it was painful and had a weird clear liquid floating in the top of it all. chips were nice though lol

We met up with a couple of friends who were down from Oxford as well as being Husbands birthday and on this occasion food was lovely.

Best Chinese food in all of Saltash. Wouldn't recommend anything but, friendly. Friendly delivery driver who never fails to ask how the family are. Duck and Plum Sauce, yes please!

Ordered boiled rice to go with a curry and rice is really dry and like rubber not Nice at all. Never ordered prawn crackers for kids as £18 and over was free yet never received. Wont be using again. Food is awlful chicken balls way over cooked just crisp balls..

Xin restaurant has excellent food

Xin Chinese (same building as the Rodney pub) food is amazing and service fantastic. Prices are good and will definitely be back again.
