So pleased to find the cafe opened! Great cup of tea - just the ticket to start the journey from Yeovil Junction. Sausage rolls and small cake selection certainly looked tasty and hope to sample some on the next visit!

Very nice breakfast and coffee at a very reasonable price, I will return. Can be busy for the five minutes before a train due but after that peaceful.

This café is a little gem - good food and coffee along with friendly, attentive service. Arrive for your train a little early and try it, you won't be disappointed.

Had a nice sausage and egg butty here whilst my friend and I waited for a train. Very affordable. A shame they didn't have any bacon left but was still very good for the price. Will make sure to pop in whenever I am at the station!

Have visited the Rocket from time to time over the past three years. You can read my earlier review. Always a friendly welcome. Today, they were just closing but generously made me a cup of rooibos and I bought an excellent slice of bread pudding, part of which I have just enjoyed as a sweet back home. As usual, every detail was thought of... a lid for the cup, bag for pudding, a knife and a serviette. A wonderful family business... do call in when next you are travelling from Yeovil Junction railway station. A warm welcome awaits you... give yourself time for a refreshing snack in this gem of a place. Oh, by the way, There is wifi available too for the business traveller. On my first commute from Yeovil to London I discovered the Rocket Cafe. A haven of glorious England with the best tasting coffee in Yeovil and very friendly people. Photo below has it decorated for Harry Potter afternoon.

This is how cafes used to be in the old days....I travelled with my grandson from Cornwall, and after a 3 hour journey we were ready for 'All-Day Breakfasts'. The young man advised us there would be a wait whilst his mum freshly prepared 3 excellent breakfasts (my brother had joined us from Dorchester). Well worth the wait (which wasn't that long anyway), and such a treat for 3 hungry blokes especially when compared with the limp and bedraggled offerings from hotel buffets, or the microwaved factory food in the Pumpkin cafes. The owners seemed concerned about the waiting time and advised us to ring ahead next time so they could get things started...this would be very handy if you had a tightly scheduled train to catch and very thoughtful of them. If you can make a little time on your trip I unhesitatingly recommend this lovely little cafe...a real 'Treasure on the Tracks'!!!

The first time I saw this cafe I though WOW. The business was for sale and if I had had the money and the health to buy it I would have. Instead I did all I could to encourage my friends Claire and Steve to buy it and they did!! I just loved the look of it and how welcoming and friendly it was. And it is still is with them as owners. It is a beautiful building, The only downfall is that you have to climb over the bridge to get to it or ask to be allowed to go over the tracks. I have the good fortune to go and keep Claire company sometimes and to help out when my health permits. Maybe I am biased but I think they do a great job. I am so proud of them and the how they run the Cafe. So biased or not take my word for it. Go and give The Rocket Cafe a chance. And try the homemade cakes!! You won't regret it. I think most people will feel the same as me. And that it is WOW.

After a chilly early start to get the train to Yeovil Junction station, we just had to stop at the cosy cafe for a warming good coffee and irresistible home made cakes. The two ladies serving were very friendly and offered terrific service.The inside of the cafe is a treat too as has original old tiles and decor.

The "open door" says:" Welcome come in...". I love open doors that express such friendliness. You are certainly made welcome and served with excellence at The Rocket Cafe. The other day I enquired if they served RooiBos tea and the reply was "it's funny you asked as we are thinking of doing that... can you recommend the best brand here in the UK?" The next time I visited, the RooiBos was there...I 've noticed other acts of thoughtfulness in asking if the passenger would like to take the newspaper with them or suggesting one might like a napkin for the journey etc..to use with the small snack you've purchased. Basically thought and attention is given to the customer..one other small feature is that a special small dish/holder is provided for the used tea-bag and spoon.... this is not so often in evidence. You may like to pop in before you next train departure and experience the refreshing atmosphere for yourself. They're open from early in the morning but usually close at 2pm - earlier on Saturdays. The Rocket Cafe (ex. The Trinity) straddles Platforms 1 & 2 of Yeovil Junction station, entrance via Platform 1. Authentic, quaint, unspoilt interior - its own hearth, black & red checked floor tiles, green walls, lovely little bar & 2 wonderfully welcoming ladies. A step back in time decor-wise, supported by very modern coffee-making. My Flat White was great! A good selection of naughty snacks and healthier options, plus an extensive list of meals, all homemade (not tasted by me yet, so unable to comment). This place is worth a stop - for that takeaway caffeine boost in the morning, or a lunchtime farewell to prolong your goodbyes. It has that delectable cute cafe feel that suits the surrounding Somerset countryside setting so well. I didn't check if they do cream teas but I'm sure it would be a winner!! Oh, and they offer a loyalty card. Perfect!

Waiting for trains is often a challenge, especially when the weather is not so pleasant. Having some refreshment centres available is always an added-plus. Yeovil Junction station is a good example. It can be quite drafty when the wind is blowing. There is a pleasant and warm waiting room but there is also The Rocket Cafe. A very good place to wait and enjoy a snack at the same time. The current owners are doing a wonderful task of making it a place of welcome and distinction. Much impressed by their desire to serve the travelling public well. It is still a "work in progress" but observing the vision of the managers I believe it will go places. Well done...
