The Rock Inn in Kirklees

Wonderful place always a welcome on the mat.

This is a solid local pub. During the short time I was there, it came across as an establishment popular within its own community. There were three beers on hand pull. Two from Thwaits (IPA and Wainwright's) and one from Bradfield (Farmers Blonde). The cask ales were well kept. There was also a decent choice of wine and the usual keg lagers. There were several TV screens, dart board and a gambling machine. There is a very nice garden behind the pub. There were a number of locals sitting around the bar which can make some visitors a little apprehensive. Generally came across as a friendly place.

Nice pub but not a lot of choice for drinks

Just recently reopened after renovation, so very strong paint oder, will need a few weeks to settle down , good selection of drinks we'll kept

Legendary pub. Brilliant food served quickly and with such a friendly atmosphere that we came back the same evening!! Best decision of this year to come back the staff were lovely and inclusive and I will be coming back as soon as I can!!

Great pub. Sport on tv, darts and pool. Great place to hang out. Bar maid was amazing.

First visit today and made to feel really welcome. Can tell it’s a popular pub with the locals as got that community feel to it. Recommended by campsite staying on and definitely be back, thank you Tracey and staff not forgetting blue the gorgeous dog

What a lovely local pub,not too far from the camp site we were staying at, we were really made welcomed,the food looked really good,good choice of beers,we went on the Friday night, and we were gutted to find out that on Saturday afternoon there was a fire there, I really hope it was not too bad,good luck Rock Inn and hope to see you all soon. Different rooms so can always get to watch rugby league!! A good selection of beers and decent price!

Absolutely amazing pub, we camped nearby and around 30 of us booked for lunch last Saturday and to say the chef was on her own the service was amazing! We didn't wait long at all nobody was missed and all the food was fresh and hot! Nothing was too much trouble. The kids loved seeing the rabbits outside too. Thankyou We will be back!

Proper prices.at the rock. guinness£3.80.and the best I've had for a long time.beer price that's very reasonable and not a rippoff.good on yaa be back again and again.cant wait..and what a excellent job they have done round the back.

Nice pub and beautiful pint of beer. Couldn't get on the back garden as it was full but the staff shown a table on the front. Very organised with the covid situation.

Its a brilliant pub to have a good quiet drink, The staff are brilliant, I enjoy spending time and having a quiet drink there.

Absolutely amazing pub. We visited from Manchester and unfortunately was told the kitten had closed. The owner/manger went and asked if the kitchen could sort us some food out and he came straight back with what we wanted. If I could give 6 stars I would ******

Came from the nearby campsite, nice enough pub but staff a touch surly.

Lovely atmosphere, very welcoming. We went with 7 adults and 7 kids, the food was gorgeous, couldn’t fault anything. The toilet extras was a nice touch, plus the fresh flowers in there were beautiful. Had to take one and put it in my hair. To say they didn’t know 14 people were about to turn up, they did an excellent job, that’s why we tipped so well. Can’t wait to go back.xx

Visited the Rock Inn whilst camping at Holmvalley camping and caravan site, busy pub but was a Friday night, lovely bar staff, dog friendly, only do food through the holiday season, lovely to call for a few beers and Gin with the other half 😀

We called in after having worked late (we actually called for an Indian takeaway from the place opposite! Which was fab! ) and had a beer while we waited. We were made very welcome, however, our local has banned swearingand it was strange to hear the use of the Fword in a pub!!

Nice pint, pleasant service but could do with another screen for football in snug. I felt in the way while people were eating as I watched the footie.

Excellent local. Cask Marque beers - 3 on hand pump. Basic food menu. Real fire. Occasional live band. Beer garden and lovely snug (rare to find in a pub there days). A short walk from the Home Valley camping ground and caravan park.

I'm in a pool 🎱 team and I played here. The people and staff are very friendly. They have pool, darts they have a smoking 🚬 area and the pub is a nice place. They also serve food as well which is good.

Just like a local village pub should be.

Good beer good food, well worth a visit.
