Nice homely cosy little old school boozer. Great choice of ales, lovely pleasant staff and a bostin real fire going. Came from Brum today for my first ever visit, but it certainly won't be my last. Get on the Bathams.👌

Met up with friends on Saturday night First time in the place for over 40 years What an absolute gem of a place Arrived at 7 absolutely rammed Got a seat after about 10 minutes so no problem.Beer was exceptional & atmosphere brilliant Didn’t feel like a tourist!!!!

Excellent pub, great beers and the best pint of Bathams in the district.

me and my friends went in today, walked straight in and used the toilet. as i came out the toilet, i was talking to my partner and his friend and the “owner” came out and told us “it’s time to go.” we headed to the bar where our friends were, and the owner, who was drunk, told us to leave and took our drinks off us. my friend had already payed for his drink and the barmaid told us we had to leave. when asked, we were told we weren’t welcome and made to leave. Awful place, we were made to feel unwelcome and unwelcome wouldn’t recommend to anyone who isn’t a regular.

Very busy pub near to Christmas but service was quick and friendly.

A lovely friendly greeting from the bar staff and some very nice ales at decent prices. The front area is nice and cosy and there's plenty of room at the back for bigger groups. I didn't try the food so I can't really comment.

This is a pub with a nice atmosphere Its cosy. Quite busy Fridays and Satudays. Good choice of bar snacks. ( cobs, Pork pie, Scotch eggs etc)

The most traditional of the 4 listed 2025 Good Beer Guide pubs on the Amblegate triangle. A true local with an abundance of cask ales on sale all reasonably priced. Marvel at all the bottled beers displayed on the delft rails around the front rooms - all sadly now well out of date.

Lovely local pub with good drinks 🍻 & friendly staff. All they need now is to get a new sign hanging outside as it's really faded so you can't tell the name of pub if you were searching for it. But everything else is fabulous!

Drinks are reasonable and nice choice of snacks and a good variety chioce of local cobs. Which are very tasty. staff friendly and kind. The staff are very cheerful good place to have a banter. nice destination, nice atmosphere food very nice, nice to end the night. Bus friendly situation

Good pub it's just a shame about the blonde plastic copper behind the bar looking down her nose at people..... and asking people if they driving etc..... your a barmaid when you here not a plastic copper.....

Gotta love this place. Was taken there by top customers of ours who are locals, and it was exactly how they described it. A proper pub with a fantastic selection of well kept ales, also serving cobs/pies to soak it up. Fabulous ladies behind the bar who know how to serve a pint! Lovely busy atmosphere. Coming back for more soon - no fail.

If you’re looking for good ale, great environment and great company you won’t go wrong in the Robin Hood. What a lot of people don’t realise that at the rear of the establishment is a Sun trap well kept area with tables and parasols. Visit it, you won’t be disappointed🍺🍷🍺👍🏻

One of a number of excellent pubs on or just off brettle lane. Craft beer and ciders regularly change. Great staff and a good safe atmosphere, don't think they serve food any longer but have a choice of bar snacks

We were a large party and there was nowhere in this pub we could sit together and socialise.We sat at a long table so couldn't speak to one another. We were offered 'cobs' and chips we all eventually got the cobs we ordered however we were not told that some of the chips served were for sharing so 4 of us never got any chips even though we said we were missing 4 portions. Glad this wasn't my idea for a place to meet up. Staff very miserable.

Excellent little local pub with a great selection of drinks. Last time we were in they had Thatchers Gold and Thistly Cross cider, so I was very happy. Staff are great, pub has a great atmosphere.

Decent range of drinks , well priced. However they over obsess about enforcing there little rules . This pub lacks warmth, & hospitality for any lone visitor , youll be pushed a table were you can stare at your pint . Atmosphere not condusive for conversation with locals. Take a leaf from THE MAVERICK Pub close by if you want a far warmer welcome off staff and locals.Thanks sue....

Not many places you can get Enville Ginger....but yes absolutely beautiful pint👌. Lovely staff and very welcoming atmosphere....they don't make them like this anymore.

Used to go in regular one time. 10 guest ales on. Was told to stand awY from the bar. Not busy at all, so covid must have been why. Well worth a visit thou....

Does what it say on the tin. It's a hood classic pub. With a good variety of ale. Has a bit of a older crowd typically who are welcoming.

A proper pub! First time I went and it just took me back to being a kid in the pub with me mum and dad. They have some fantastic beer on and they have good n proper crusty cobs(thick slab of cheese and spanish onion) lovely jubbly! 10/10 great atmosphere, amazing staff! All round great pub! Visited here as a starting point for a birthday celebration, the ale was absolutely spot on (HPA) temperature clarity and taste. Would 100% recommend this watering hole

We went there Saturday good selection of beer. The food was excellent and staff very friendly the landlord and landlady were helpful and very welcoming I would recommend this pub I do not put many reviews but was compelled on this instance.
