The Rising Sun in Forest of Dean

This is an actual local pub!! Being used by locals !! Incredible in this day and age to find somewhere like this, limited food menu only available on certain days, it was very well priced, and the portions were a decent size too! Great selection of drinks available also well priced, it was quite busy and we had to wait to get a table but was fully worth it. Superb mix of clientèle with a proper local atmosphere. Reminded me of my local when I was a kid.

Since a change in day to day management of the pub, it's become a thriving part of the community. Great pub quiz every two weeks

The landlady jan is a terrible, vile woman who robbed a charity and got caught, she also thinks she's better than anyone else, anyone who knows this and still goes there need to give there head a wobble, proper narcissist, You couldn't pay me to be within a mile of this horrible landlady. I've known her for years and the majority of people in Bream cannot stand her and for good reasons.

Love going to this REAL pub. Lovely beers ciders and gins. Lady bar person is warm and friendly. Full of locals who pretty soon warm to us outsider.

Visited a couple of times whilst staying in Bream. The land lady was very welcoming and it was a lovely traditional pub with traditional ales and extensive gin menu! Mix of regulars plus some visitors. Thanks for making us visitors welcome - it is not always the case!

Friends we made were great. Unfortunately the landlady took excemtion to us not being local foresters. At that time I was pushed and kicked out of the front steps. And barred for life. The pub is a shambles. Has been in the local paper. Theft from charity box . Shame on the landlady

Fantastic pub, great atmosphere, lovely beer. If I had a downside it is that there is no food offered.

No website. Don't be fooled by the signs outside advertising The Stables Restaurant. They don't do food and look shocked when you ask if they do any. Friendly enough though and not bad prices if you just want a drink. Just don't go in if you're hungry. Dog friendly.

Great place for a catch up with friends. Beers are always good.
