The food was hot but not what we expected, it was just donner meat and chips, parmo and chips even though we ordered the stotties which were supposed to have coleslaw as well.

Absolutly discusting slop, green and black old chips, stale dry bun, raw pink battered sausage the worst I have ever had ANYWHERE. took the lot back plenty of sorrys about it, should be ashamed absolute disgrace if I could zero star it I would.

The parmo wasn’t great. Firstly it stated it would come as a Sottie but it didn’t. It was just the parmo and chips. The bechamel sauce was also solid and so was the cheese. The parmo was also only warm and not very hot

Friday afternoon decided to have fish n chips ,on eating the chips thought the taste was hardly there and bland even salt n vinegar not made it better ,the fish was a different story ,watery and batter just fell off ,under the cooked batter was thick uncooked batter still the same colour as it went in the fried ,throw it away ,never will go back ever again ,this was once a great chippy ,not now ,food was disgusting

really enjoyed the meal, it arrived still hot. very tasty and satisfying. Not the cheapest place and Im reluctant to say, but worth the price.

The taste of the food was really great and the best material was used

Tuna and jacket potato wasn’t nice plus no salad or coleslaw then donner meat was with chips and was very dry on the plus side the fish was gorgeous

Phone call from the shop to offer replacement item as my sons preferred one wasn't available, food was very late so i rang to enquire and told "just about to leave" - after another delay it turned up finally an hour and a half late from order to completion. The replacement item didn't even have garlic sauce on it, just melted garlic butter that my son said was awful. My other sons order was satisfactory he said but the long wait became intolerable for him.

A much bigger order on one of the busiest days of the year absolutely excellent again, from the on time delivery which meant the food was hot, to the size of the jumbo cod and its cooking and the sausages and Mexican chips all tremendous. We will be back

First time trying here, and definitely won’t be the last! If you have not tried their Greek gyros, you need to! 🐷. Massive portions! Quantity & Quality!

Once again the same high quality experience from ordering, delivery to the excellent fish which was really hot and cooked perfectly, can’t fault it I will be back

The food was excellent. It arrived popping hot even though it was freezing outside. The delivery man was charming and very helpful. The jumbo cod was a huge portion and so very tasty. The fish was nearly 2” thick and so tasty. The route 66 burger was amazing. I asked not to have bbq sauce on the burger, so instead of just missing it off they included some in its own pot so that I could put some on if I changed my mind. So very thoughtful. The service here is always excellent. Thank you.

the chips were very poor quality brusied and not a good chip, adequately cooked and tasted just OK. The fish was a giant I mean a great size but the cooking of the fish was again just acceptable, some good bits but I'd not rush back The quality over quantity is how I'd improve this experience. I think this is what happens when a pizza shop staff land in a chipshop its a terrible shame. We are desperate for the fish and chips of 20 years ago. The knowledge has left the area.

Over an hour and a half late. When asked for an update at the end kf delivery window, all they did was extend the time. Some items looked like they hadn't been cooked properly.

Really sorry but the food wasn’t the best, chips tasted like last nights reheated as did the pizza and the Pattie potaoe was hard and not cooked. Usually have great food but tonight it all went into the bin 😔

The Husband ordered us food his parmo was dry, cheese looked and tasted like it was reheated, it came with coleslaw fresh salad and chips, chips were nuke warm coleslaw was like slop and bland the only thing that was fresh was the salad but hey ho. I got a margarita pizza as I don't eat meat they ring my husband and tell him that they have ran out of 12 inch pizzas and that it would take to long to make more so can do a 9 inch and refund money back that was for a 12 inch, didn't get no refund don't know what happened to that maybe the government got it I don't know but instead got a jumbo sausage with a sorry note wrapped around it! Erm I don't eat meat that's why I ordered a margarita on that note pizza was not fresh it looked and tasted as if it was a frozen pizza if I wanted that I would of went to a supermarket! And don't get me started on the chilli sauce that was more water like than a watered down larger from a pump in a pub very over priced and will not be using again!

As usual really easy to use app, order was early, delivery person excellent and fish (jumbo cod) worth every penny cooked beautifully and chips to match great all round experience that means I will be back again in the future

It was absolutely amazing food.It was a treat for us as I don’t get up to the north east as often as I should.I live in Manchester.I went to collect the food.The plaice was immaculate😀.Staff extremely friendly and lovely people.The food was very well presented and so tasty.Mum&Dad loved it.I would highly recommend this plaice.Something on the menu for everyone.I can’t give anymore stars so I will give you 10/10. The Chicken Tikka Kebab was the most beautifully presented I've ever had from a takeaway and tasted lovely too. The Pizza/Chips and Garlic mayo was excellent my son said, a really good portion i noticed and my other half was very pleased with her Pineapple ring/Chips and Curry, so they deserve a shout-out for not only the quality but price point 👏🏼👏🏼

Hi I’ve put on time as something went wrong with the order but it was late but the lady on the phone sorted it so no problem. Just a shame after it did came we had no salad so just some feedback thanks

Delivery on time and really pleasant delivery person, tried the regular cod with chips peas and pineapple ring all hot and excellent quality, fish more than enough. Noticed the extensive menu Right Plaice now offer and time to try something new to see if the same quality is carried across all they offer. I will be back.

i just want to say what a great teamwork all these workers have, as it was extremely busy tonight and they were still trying there best to provide good costumers service. I was really disappointed about how people treating the two three ladies working, people being very rude and disrespectful. Will definitely coming back also lovely food :)

Absolute terrible customer service. Was stood in a queue I was clearly next I was ignored & the person behind got served stood a while longer & the next person got served !!! While I'm still stood there , needless to say I walked out.... Good staff or even staff with common sense should know who is next. Will not waste my hard earned cash there anymore

Absolutely tremendous from the extremely pleasant delivery person who was exactly on time and very pleasant to the hot fish, chips and peas all of excellent quality, the fish in particular being huge and beautifully cooked, the whole experience was excellent from start to finish - I will be back.

Been a while since had a parmo from here. Ordered online to collect at 6pm, got a call at 5.45pm to say ready to collect. Wasn't very hot (warm) very dry chewy chicken, overcooked and bechaamal sauce none existent. Chips average. Not impressed so won't be going back.

Not had a parmo from here for a while. Very disappointing with product, Very chewy dry chicken and where was the sauce? Also chicken luke warm, and chips cold, booked in a time slot and arrived to collect on time (well 10 mins early) and was already waiting for me. What is the point in booking a time slot if you cook it much earlier? Won't be coming here again as you want to enjoy what you pay for. Won't be recommending either. If I could score a zero I would.

Burger didn't seem cooked properly pink in the middle but apart from that was good

I ordered the same dish I usually do and was so looking forward to eating it as it’s a favourite of mine but this time the chicken was either undercooked or overcooked. It was very disappointing and I was unable to eat it :( .

It’s been some 6 or to 8 weeks since I last ordered so I was keen to see if the high standards I have experienced earlier had been maintained, I shouldn’t have worried the delivery driver was as courteous and pleasant as ever the order was early, everything was hot, the fish slipped of the paper onto the plate, the fish was jumbo without a doubt, chips and peas of equal high quality. I can’t fault Right Plaice folks they maintain a high standard time after time - give them a try see for yourself

The Ultimate burger did not disappoint! (it is MASSIVE!). Proper chip shop chips & plenty of them. Considering the choice from this place coupled with the reasonable prices, we are going to be regulars! And the freebies & cheerful message was just the icing on the cake! Highly recommended!

I should have checked the “newest” reviews on googl before placing my order… and I encourage anybody who sees this review to go look at those first yourself before placing an order BY FAR the worst Parmesan I have ever received from any takeaway or restaurant, fish was mediocre… the chips with both meals were undercooked I knew the shop had changed hands when I seen the food upon arrival, it is a common occurrence in Stockton where locally owned establishments change hands and food standards drop drastically, oh well Won’t be returning, wont be recommending

2nd time the chicken has smelled and tasted funky recently, gone down hill

I ordered a sausage greek gyros tonight and some cheesy chips. The chips with it were delicious. This is the best chippy in town. I can't wait to order again . the quality of the food is up to the standard. The food is definitely worth the price. Their curry is the best.

This used to be a lovley chippy before getting taken over. Got food tonight not knowing it had changed hands, the chips were were only just cooked and the curry sauce we got was like water it was so thin. Definitely won't be coming back

I got regular cod and chips. The portions are so good. I got regular cod and it was really big.I also got small chips with it and it was definitely good value for money. I was so pleased and I will definitely go again. Staff was helpful and friendly. Will recommend to my friends and family.

Very disappointed. Ordered 3 small portions of chips and a curry and garlic both small. However not until I got home and I checked the menu I realised I was charged for standard portions. So I thought ah well as long as they're nice. Opened the boxes to find half empty boxes. I could see when she was getting the chips there wasn't any left so guess couldn't be bothered to make more! So not only did I pay for standard I got the most appalling portion of a small box. Currys and garlic extremely small for the money!

Such a shame. We discovered this place a few month back and it was brilliant. The sour dough pizzas were amazing the the chips and paninis lovely. Today we ordered and instead of a sour dough pizza we were sent two 9 inch pizzas. However they were not the sour dough they were cheap pre made pizza bases with a few topping on. It was clear they were pre made from the horrible cheap taste and uniform manufacturing holes at the bottom. The meat within the chicken panini tasted like fish and was soft, like cotton wool. I called the shop who said sorry, they should have offered a refund but instead another wait for something different was offered. The point is if you can’t fulfil order as described don’t send some cheap pre made pizza base, call and say you can’t do it. I could make it for 2 quid from Tesco. But money was just taken and something awful was sent. What a shame. Was telling everyone about this but what a let down. No more.

Possibly the WORST takeaway we’ve ever ordered. Disgusting ! Chicken burger had a tiny piece of chicken, Tempera prawns (£7) !! No batter, received 5 small prawns thrown in a box !! Lost for words !! £60 is a lot of money for us as a family, and feel it has been wasted tonight ! To add - after the response below. Firstly, you did refund us - thank you - and rightly so. To be fair, we had waited nigh on 2 hours for our food; I'd have eaten a flip flop !! As a business, you need to take responsibility. Until now, we have been very happy with 'The Right Plaice' and would always recommend it. Given the standard of food - we knew it had been taken over - the 'Tempura prawns' did make us chuckle ! If you're unsure of a dish, a quick Google (images) search may help. The omelette was more a 'fried egg' with ham sprinkled on top ! I am not one for negative reviews, but the food was disgraceful, especially given the standard we are used to from your restaurant. I am sure things will improve, but delivering us such food, and then making my wife dig it out of our bin - really? - this approach will encourage reviews of this nature. We are certainly not ones to 'order large takeaways' then claim a refund, as you say. After being charged £60 we expect a certain standard. I have uploaded a picture of your 'Tempura prawns' and Omelette - we'll leave it up to your customers to decide ! I don't wish to affect your business and I am sure things will improve as you move forward, but my advice - being a local business owner - do think about how you respond to customers in future. As a gesture for the refund I have amended my review from 1 to 2 stars...

I ordered a pepperoni pammo and mixed kebab. It was fantastic. I tried this place for the first time and i am sure I will be ordering again soon . Would recommended this place.

Another excellent experience with Right Plaice, all items packed separately, tremendous piece of cod which slipped off the paper onto the plate, cooked perfectly and matched its description as ‘jumbo’ chips and peas of the usual high standard. Well done again keep it up.

No Donna meat on the mixed kebab. Food cold Parmo inedible like rubber. Such as shame as previously ordered and it was lovely 😢

Ordered fish, chips and pineapple rings asked for a time which the order delivered 8 mins late, however food was excellent, each item packed separately and fish slid of the paper onto the plate and the fish batter was crisp, food was hot - never underestimate the importance of a timely delivery makes to the quality of the food received especially for fish and chips - well done to the restaurant for maintaining its high standards.

Food was amazing. Very high standard. Quality packaging. Kebab 10/10. Garlic thick & creamy. Fish was outstanding although a wee bit small for a jumbo £. Absolute 5* think I've just found my new go-to restaurant! Banging....5*
