Being using this place for years.. Great food. Ordered tonight and got served up with reheated over cooked chips and prawn toast and bland main courses. Phoned to see if changed ownership and it has. Not interested in complaint or refund.. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Previous owner such a lovely guy... probably horrified at what they are churning out now.

Chow mein to die for, unfortunately they don't deliver too far away and prefer cash payments otherwise incredible food with generous portions

I’ve been a regular customer at the Rice Bowl and today, I placed an order and half of it was incorrect and missing… the girl on the phone was extremely rude and the food that was right, was of poor quality. So poor, I will never be ordering from them again. No customer service, so I would certainly AVOID.

Used to be good but now obviously price has gone up but food quality has dropped dramatically, last night I collected,they said 30mins I went after 20, food was ready, chips were awful,been sat waiting for someone to order, ribs were overcooked, rice hard and dry sweet and sour chicken batter greasy chicken soggy,beef chow mein was ok but cold, altogether worst meal I've had in a long time. Won't go there again and if the kitchen is anything like the serving area , I wouldn't want to.

Where do I start this is the first review I have ever written in my life I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this was so bad I had no choice, to have to say somthing. For years me and my familly have always ordered the same dishes house special chowmein and house special fried rice from all different Chinese takeaways over Coventry. So we know roughly what to expect from the standard of the food, and we know exactly what you get, but this was shocking to say the least we ended up spending £54.90 on 2 portions of house special chowmein 2 portions of house special fried rice after being told on the phone it was only £49.90. On arrival we thought we would have free prawn crackers added in as we usually do with any £20 plus meal spent at a Chinese takeaway, but to our surprise there was none in the box, after asking the girl she said it does not come free know more, we had to add two bags of them in and be charged £54.90. In total When we got home with our food we realised something was wrong and that the portion size had been reduced significantly of everything and filled with vegetables instead, ( mainly big peppers )we had no water chestnuts, we had no omelette, all this usually comes with what we ordered we hardly had any prawns, the rice was only boiled rice even the meat was scarce, usually with just one house special chow mein and one house special fried rice we have food to eat for two people easy and food left over for the next day, I know the cost of living has risen for us all but this was a genuine pisstake. We were all so disappointed that we called the rice bowl and asked directly why it was so small and why we didnt recieve our free crackers, to only be told very abruptly, that if you go to tesco and spend £50 you dont get somthing for free the manager was very rude to say the least after telling him of the other problems and changes to the food we were just met with more abuse so instead of arguing we just told him we would not be using this place ever again. If you want a good Chinese takeaway avoid this place like the plague unless you want to pay overpriced and hardly no food in the box.

Ordered at 4.50pm, got it at 6.55, and then had to warm it up! Duck was very dry and fatty, won’t use them again.

As soon as I entered with a friend, the lady at the door didn’t smile, kept her distance and was not warm, friendly or inviting at all. We thought perhaps this was just her personality until we saw others who came after us greeted properly. When seated, we were next to a plug point on wall which was literally next to customer tables and away from anything else so I assumed it was for customer use. We had only been using it for 15 mins in total and after we had finished and paid for the bills, this same rude woman made a scene out of not asking. She came across as very condescending instead of a light encounter. The way she said it was not pleasant at all and I felt embarrassed infront of every customer around. I felt publicly shamed and anxious with all eyes on me and had to leave as soon as possible. I personally won’t be coming back or recommending anyone else to come here. Also no one informed us that there’s a 10% service charge just for bringing 2 glasses of water and bringing over 2 plates of food. I think that 10% charge more than enough covered the pennies added to their electricity bill. Unnecessary of her to mention it. Especially after we had finished and were off and nothing could’ve been changed. Maybe at the start of our seating they could’ve mentioned it to save their pennies . This completely ruined the meal for me and has been on my mind since, bearing in mind I spends £30+ , hence me writing this review 2 hours later

Portion sizes are much smaller spent £32 asked where prawn crackers was was told cost of living has gone up so won’t get none chicken curry had 6 small pieces of chicken in chicken ball should have been a portion of 10 had 7 in prices gone higher food quality poor won’t be ordering from here again used to order once a week

Used this place for some years now.travel from bulkington to collect, as good chinese take out is hard to find.i ordered a kung po king prawn.for me a 10 out of 10 couldn't fault it.

nice chips and beef curry. rice was hard in the egg fried rice, prawn crackers (we paid for) were stale, also paid for extra mushrooms in the curry... there were not many mushrooms in the curry at all. wouldn’t order from here again tbh

Have been using the rice bowl for many years now, and we do have to travel to collect our order. Its a very busy takeaway so must be patient when trying to place an order. When ever we have ordered they always say twenty minutes, and I can honestly say we never have to wait when we get there. It's the only Chinese I've used for many years now, so I would say the food is fine. Sweet and sour King prawn Hong Kong style is a favourite of mine. Love the special fried rice, and more importantly the food isn't greasy. Great service always, and good. What more can I say.

First time ive ordered from the rice bowl, ordered set mwnu for one £8.80 chicken curry eggfried rice and sweetand sour chicken. What can i say it was delicious. Will definitely order again. I only went in to collect an order for a family member. Glad i went now. Thanks Rice Bowl

i had chicken curry the chicken smelt and tasted disgusting, i am sure it was uncooked. I phoned to complain and was disregarded no offer to refund or replace the food. Do not order the chicken curry at risk of food poising had upset stomach in the morning. very disappointed in the food and customer service.

Hands down the worst food I've ever had in my life. Feel like I've been robbed it was clearly Icelands Chinese range.

I would like to thank all the staff for the amazing service and food delivered tonight. My husband had neuro surgery on his hand and arm last thurs and cant move his arm for 2 weeks. So i ordered some of his favourite food from his favourite take away. The food was delicious and delivered in 20 mins. Thank you Rice Bowl you never let us down.

Trasladarse a la zona desde hace 11 años hemos usado el arroz Bowl para nuestra comida para llevar china. Todavía tenemos que tener una mala comida o experiencia aquí! Hay un gran menú a elegir y la comida es deliciosa. Es difícil no ser decepcionado por otros para llevar cuando estamos de vacaciones después de ser mimados por la comida aquí. El servicio es de primera. El personal es realmente amable y hablador. Si estás en la zona, entonces pruébalo. Usted no será decepcionado.

Pork very tender. Special curry can't be faulted. Fried rice is also fine. Try the crispy fried chicken salt and chilli and garlic, very nice.

The Tai King Prawn with ginger and spring onions is exceptional - really fresh tasting prawns and a brilliant sauce. The service is always good.

Usually chopsticks is my go to chinese but as tgey were closed i took their recommendation on their answer machine and gave rice bowl a try. Was impressed so will deffo use again.

Where to start? 10 mins over delivery time. Paid £2.50 delivery which is STEEP by most places, expecting piping hot food and a friendly delivery driver. How wrong was I? Miserable basket moaned having to come up 3 flights of stairs to DELIVER (clues in the price guys) to me to be told / warned " I don't normally come up stairs do remember next time in a threatening nasty manner" - gob smacked after paying £16 quid, so the meal was luke warm, not hot, god knows how long it had been in his boot cooling down. Passable food bit by Christ the most miserable delivery guy you'll clap eyes on this side of 2017. Oh don't worry my friend there won't be a next tjme, you've just killed ANY and all possibility of repeat business for being such a menacing nasty idle driver. Avoid this gaff and choose elsewhere. FIRST AND LAST order I assure you. fuming.
