The server was so friendly, went out of his way to make sure our fod was hot, offered condiments himself and generally just made everything a very nice experience.

In the area for an hour or so & found this gem. It is home to Harry Ramsdens, Ed's Diner, Slim Cickens, Gourmet Burger Kitchen & Caffè Carluccio's It is situated in Sainsbury's. I bought a pot of Yorkshire tea & a cheesy toastie. They were perfect. The toastie was exactly how I like them. The nearest thing to an original toastie that you get nowadays. Non of the stuff on top and only toasted on the top like other well known companies serve. It was very tasty. The staff were friendly & tables were kept on top of. All in all a great stop off.

Elise and Pedro were very helpful in recommending something for my wife. In the end my wife had the big cheesy toastie which she enjoyed very much. I had the 5 tender meal which was delicious chicken was flavourful and juicy. Arjun served a splendid hot chocolate which I will be coming back for more 👍

We had a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly welcoming, especially Mr, Pedro. We ordered the cod chips with peas, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The salad was amazing as well, fresh and vibrant. To top it all off, we tried the mocha-chino, which was truly special and added a unique touch to my meal. Highly recommend this place for a great meal!

This is only about Carluccio's! I visited on 9th Jan 25 around midday and was asked to wait to be served because one member of staff was messing with a piece of kit that wasn't working and the other ignored me and just walked back and forth behind the counter. I also had to wait to pay because the device wasn't working and needed a re-set. My table was dirty and my coffee - a flat white in a tall cup instead of the latte grande in a glass which I'd ordered - arrived, and even then the person didn't wipe the table. They weren't overworked because the area was virtually empty with only a handful of customers. My advice would be to only employ staff who want to do the job and train them properly in customer service, use of equipment, hygiene and food preparation.

Staffs and chiefs are nice and friendly, fish and chips are freshly made with large cup of tea, the price is also competitive in the afternoon tea period. Would visit again!

Came here for lunch today with my brother. I had the breakfast and my brother had the vegetarian breakfast. My brother is vegan so they swapped his egg for beans (they said he could choose the item to double up on as the replacement.) My food was very tasty and I particularly enjoyed the excellent sausage and the bacon was crispy, just as I like it. I commented to my brother how Pedro, our server seemed very genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome. The area is comfortable with a lovely view from the window. You would not think you were in the middle of a busy Sainsburys. My brother had coffee and I had a bottomless soft drink. All together it came to just over £21, which in today's market is quite reasonable.

A gentleman called Pedro served me and my friend, we were a little confused at the menu and he talked us through it, and made some excellent recommendations as to which sauces we should choose.

Honestly, every time we visit, the kids mac’n’cheese portion gets smaller and smaller to the point where it feels they’re actually taking a piss. Wouldn’t recommend.

Pedro was really great, we had a Slims 5 Tender meal and everytime I come here it always beats the central bham one. Its like they cook everything from fresh.

Staff were great. Smashed burgers were a joke. Tiny burgers in a big bun. Staff were embarrassed to serve them and were very apologetic. Thank you to Pedro the manager who went above and beyond to rectify the situation.

First time visit and very disappointed with the limited choice of food. Hardly any vegetarian options only a breakfast which we did not want at 2pm. Mostly unhealthy fast food options with a few sandwiches and toasties only a cheese one for vegetarians.

Ordered tea and cappuccino, cappuccino was forgotten about, tea took 15 mins, someone else's order was also forgotten. When we requested the cappuccino 30 minutes after ordering we were dismissed as if we were being impatient. It was relatively quiet at the time otherwise we would have been understanding of the slow service. Also the wifi wasn't working.

The in-store restaurants at this Sainsbury's were pretty chaotic, but the real letdown was the total lack of vegetarian options. It’s surprising, especially with how popular vegetarian and plant-based diets are these days, that there’s nothing for customers who don’t eat meat. It felt like a huge miss in terms of catering to a wider audience. With so many people now looking for vegetarian choices, it’s disappointing that none of these big stores have adapted to that demand. The atmosphere was hectic, but the lack of options was definitely the main issue, and it would make a big difference if they offered more variety in the future.

We preferred due Halal food option and to thanks to Mr. Pedro about his great service.

Great experience today with two small children in tow. Pedro was very helpful and efficient at the till. Food came quickly and we were asked if we needed anything. Kids happy to be entertained by the TV that was on. A relaxing early lunch!

We came for breakfast here and ordered a full veggie English breakfast. It was very nice and filling, great value for money. I would definitely come back and enjoy a breakfast here again. Not to mention the great hospitality of the staff. Keep it up!

The menus are severely slimmed down and overly expensive. We ordered two meals and they came massively late, at varying times, so we couldn't eat together as a family. 20m wait for a burger and chicken tenders when there were hardly any other customers isn't a great look.

The Restaurant Hub is located inside Sainsburys, on Selly Oak Retail Park. Plenty of free parking is available, and the Restaurant Hub is very accessible. A choice of favourites are available to order, including Harry Ramsdens, Eds Easy Diner, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Slim Chickens, and more, and the dining area has plenty of space, and is comfortable and clean. Today we enjoyed Harry Ramsdens cod, chips , peas, tartare sauce, which was absolutely delicious, and the customer service that we received from 'Pedro' was excellent, and also very much appreciated!

I recently went to Slim Chickens at Sainsburys Selly Oak in Birmingham, and I have to say, the customer service was simply exceptional! From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to make my visit enjoyable. Pedro took the time to explain the menu and offered helpful recommendations, making the experience feel personalized and welcoming. The service was not only fast but attentive. My order was handled efficiently, and Pedro checked in regularly to make sure I had everything I needed. The food was incredible, but the exceptional service truly stood out and made the experience very pleasant.

I went here for Slim Chicken's and it is very easy to find, with the menu presented at the counter too! Chicken Tenders and Fries with sauces were delicious but the chips portions were smaller than usual, less options available here too since it a restaurant hub although service was fast.

Very friendly staff, always make the best food fresh. 100% would recommend. I’m usually served by Shawn, and Shawn is always very lovely and provides the best service.

We used to enjoy coming for a meal after our visit to the QE hospital. But today the food was not up to scratch. Not sure we will eat here again. The gent who served us was very good but that was the only positive.

I tried both Slim chickens and Gourmet burgers. The staff was always different every time I came, but the fact that they provided good service remained the same. The view from inside the dining area is also really nice. The food is also served really deliciously. You can order through the kiosk and receive an order number, but it was inconvenient that there was no monitor to indicate when the food was ready, whether table service or self-service. In any case, the staff always brings it to me, so I think the ordering method is a bit dysfunctional. Other than that, the seating, service, and food are all great.
