The Redbrae in East Dunbartonshire

Could not have been better...just outstanding

Met up with friends today & was pleasantly surprised with the modern interior of the restaurant, a few of us had steak pie & it was very good, the Katsu curry came on a sizzling plate & the macaroni looked good, a few desserts of apple pie & custard & sticky toffee pudding & coffees finished off a lovely meal. I will definitely be back to sample more of the varied menu.

As you know I m not the best to impress , But what a job Colin and his staff put in. There was 18 of us for my son's 40th birthday ,and the service was 2nd to none , we all had various meals ,and not one of us were less than impressed . If you have not tried the pub please do . I am not a regular In fact I don't even drink in it but my son wanted to go there , what a choice .

Avoid not consistent with quality of food and drink

I’ve not been in this pub for many years so when I arrived in I was amazed with the refurbishment , and the pub itself is wonderful , the loos are clean and tidy The food is absolutely wonderful with a very cheap price I ordered fish , it was a huge fish, worth a visit

What a lovely wee place great menu great service and food was excellent .went for a birthday lunch with my work {which was a surprise } and it was Perfect the waiter was lovely and on the ball !! id never been before and il be back soon Thank you for a great day x

First time at the Redbrae pub and was very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is small but is nicely decorated with a pleasant ambience. The menu is pub grub but would have something for everyone. I had tempura chicken strips with a sweet chilli sauce to start which were delicious, the batter was very light and crispy. For main I had a burger with cheese and bacon. The burger was fine the cheese was the usual plastic but the bacon was excellent 2 slices of good quality bacon. The chips were ok, probably oven chips so nothing to write home about. It came with a small salad and coleslaw. The other members of my family said their meals were fine as well. Overall I was impressed, the service was fine, a bit slow to start but not too bad. They don’t have an extensive wine list - in fact no wine list at all they had was one bottle of Merlot, which was ok. The Redbrae is only a local pub, it’s not fine dining but I won’t hesitate to go back as I did enjoy my meal.

Lovely meal but it was very cold

Absolutely loved it, tasty food, big portions, lovely staff, Billy Porter was hilarious, great atmosphere, the place was completely packed, so, I have no idea how they organised everything so well and got the food out to everyone efficiently, and served everyone at the bar so quickly! but the staff so were amazing, they were brilliant

Surprising venue, staff are exceptional, serve great scottish grub and affordable to treat yourself and the family.

Excellent food recently went with work for lunch, meal was lovely and very reasonable!

We enjoy going to the Redbrae as we can take the dog with us. The staff are great and the food is amazing would highly recommend 🍻❤

All done up since the last time I was here. Food is always delish. Looks amazing inside,nice and cozy.

The food was really good when l was there & the prices are like going back in time cause they're so cheap. A really nice atmosphere in the public bar, an all round good night out. They have different kinds of entertainment in the bar, which is good fun from what I've been told. There was karaoke on when l was in, but everyone was a bit shy, no singers before l left at 9.30pm. It's got a very unappealing outside look about it, but to be honest, there's not much that could be done to improve it. But once you get inside it's a completely different story, it's clean, fresh & it has a nice feel about it. Oh, & it's a bit like the Tardis, looks small from the outside but it's huge on the inside. It has, as I've said, a public bar, a lounge, you can eat in both & it also has a function suite if you need space for a party. All in all a nice place for a visit. Go see for yourself ;)

Had a 60th birthday diner for my wife . We had a truly fantastic time. The owners and staff made it special. The meal was terrific, the prices were very reasonable. The way they done the place up was beautiful. I actually don't have enough GOOD things to say about the people and place. Thanks again Marie,colin and all your wonderful staff

Comfortable, friendly and good food

I'm not a regular but it is clean, has nice decor and the clientèle and staff seem friendly enough. It's not usually busy during the week but looks to be popular at weekends when they usually have entertainment on. It looks to have a large lounge next to the bar but I have not visited it. We could not get a game of pool (which was the main reason we went) as 2 guys were hogging the table. However, on my previous visit, the table was not in use, was clean, well equipped and very reasonably priced at 50p per game (I think). Overall, it seems like a good venue and I will certainly be back.

I was Dj in here on Saterday and had a great night. The acoustics in the big hall are fab too and plenty of room. Would be nice to see a regular wee night in here.... U never know🤔

A nice venue for a gathering, I don't know if there was a problem with the toilet but they were a bit smelly, reasonably priced and very nice staff,well worth a visit.

Visited here on impulse, was only looking for a coffee, but perused the menu and ordered lunch instead, the chicken tempura batter was so light and delicious, steak pie was tender, chips and peas included very tasty and a good size portion .Staff friendly, nothing was any trouble orders arrived promptly, and all reasonably priced.

Visited here for breakfast and it was awesome, had heard so many great things about it and if I'm honest was a bit wary, last time I was in here was 1981, service and food was outstanding, thank you

We were in on Wednesday 22nd September and we were served by Suzie who was lovely, really helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Food was great too.

Fantastic nite with Billy Porter ... show was fantastic. Food was amazing as usual and table service was an excellent added bonus. Look forward to my next visit.

Went down tonight with the Grandchildren for dinner, our food was delicious, service was first class, great value for money, i would highly recommend a visit.

Sunday lunch was brilliant.....excellent food and fantastic service....totally recommended.

A wonderful place with a warm and friendly atmosphere, renamed The Waverly now after reopening, staff are very customer friendly and impeccable service and quick service, outside dining available, pool table and plenty of televisions for football and any sporting events, highly recommend by me!

Colin and Marie have turned the small lounge into a lovely wee restaurant, food is excellent cheesecake to die for ,service is great especially Mary she and the others make you feel really welcome always happy to see you all social distancing, temp and track and trace adhered to, would highly recommended going.

Great value for money! £34 for sharing platter to start, 2 mains and 2 alcoholic drink can’t be beaten! Is it 5 star dining no but what do you expect for that price! Quality is better than a lot of the pubs around Glasgow that I’ve eaten in! Definitely be back to try the Sunday lunch

Traditional pub, with Traditional pub grub

The Redbrae is a pub that was traditionally just a drinking place without food and yet the design was always spacious but never really used to its full potential,it has a reputation if you like but not as much recently. Over the last year or so its has introduced a food menu that is in keeping with most pubs BUT the quality is very good and the choices again same as most pubs. I went with a friend on a quiet Monday I started with the haggis fritters which were filled with haggis and a large portion along with peppercorn sauce,my friend had the soup which was hot , tasty and very filling,I had the steak and chicken with chips.onion rings again a good portion and my friend had the mixed grill again large portions we both finished off with the cheesecake and cream,faultless. The pub offers deals it also offers free hall lets for birthdays etc,I would certainly recommend a visit,the prices were very reasonable and the waiter and service was fantastic.Hope its kept up

Wonderful staff who are very accommodating and very reasonable and will do that little bit to make sure that you have a memorable time for whichever occasion you wish to book the hall. I have been to several different functions from wakes to wedding receptions and birthday parties and have never had anything less than a fantastic evening. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a venue 10/10 👍 😀

A local pub for local people, good sized hall for functions

This place serves excellent food at fantastic prices the staff are very friendly and will bend over backwards to make your visit enjoyable after your meal you can go into the bar next door for a wee bit of karaoke and a laugh. I would highly recommend this place.

Great place for food and functions

Amazing food and good range of drinks, all for excellent prices.

Visited with my husband and 4 kids and had a great meal. Not many places I can feed us all for less than £60 and all have 3 courses. Proper home cooked food that tastes great. Even my extremely fussy 5 your old was impressed with his hotdog😍
