Always enjoy having a couple of beers here and especially if it's nice weather sitting out the front of the hotel. Staff all very nice and welcoming not tried food before so can't comment on that as well as never staying in the hotel but it's a nice place

Centre of town location with comfortable - ish seating & easily accessible toilets. Restaurant at rear & hotel accommodation above but can't comment on the food or the rooms. Staff & varied clientele are generally friendly & service is fairly quick with reasonable bar prices. Great place to sit outside people watching during summer. This pub used to be a brilliant place to listen to live music in the market place during the summer until the local council withdrew their music licence a few years ago. Just another social kick in the balls in their efforts to strangle the life out of the town centre !

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is very central to access everywhere on foot. It is a bit perplexing finding out how to access the parking and you may need to park up in a car park to go in on foot to find out. It was worth the effort though. Our 2 dogs were welcomed to stay. We ate in the restaurant & that was very good. We found it was good value for everything that we needed for our stay.

Ordered online via Bigfoodie platform expecting meal to be delivered. This was not the case as I ended up having to collect. Food wasn't ready at given collection time & had to wait for 10/15 mins. Food was ok (Ribs very fatty & fried rice seemed to have as many peas as rice - not keen on peas in my rice) but nothing to shout about & certainly not worthy of the praises sung by others. Perhaps I have too many fond memories of when old Tom held the reigns of Spalding's first Chinese Restaurant.

I include a picture to show the tiny portions they dish up. Fish and chips came with 21 chips (plenty of small ones in there too) and a tablespoon, at most, of mushy peas. The curry sauce (on the chips) was incredibly thick. I know they have a senior menu, where the portions are smaller, so I'd hate to think what you get on them. If I'm honest, I think they served a Senior meal, I cannot believe a 'normal' portion would be so small! That said , the bar person insisted, what I was served, is normal. If you want a decent (or even normal) portion of food, avoid the Pied Calf, we were not impressed.

I was introduced to Pacey's when I moved here by a friend who's a Spalding native. Since then, it's become a regular meeting place for us and we always look forward to the announcement of each week's cheesecake flavour! Can't speak highly enough of the quality of the baking and friendliness of the staff - you really get the sense here that it's not just a café, but a real cornerstone of the community.
