Such an amazing place to stay , eat and enjoy a drink. This is an amazing family run pub and it shows through its excellent service and local home cooked food. A great selection of wines, beers and Gins.

Lovely small bar with plenty of dining space inside and out - a bit of a Tardis really. Car park a bit of a challenge but worth it.

We had a roast here today, it was such lovely food. Home made, perfect roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings! Overall a very cosy, friendly and welcoming pub perfect for a Sunday roast.

Booked this hotel for two nights and I am very happy tbh, mainly because of both of the little touches I received. I always appreciate a little touch as it makes me feel valued. I get up really early for work so can never make any hotel breakfasts however with this hotel I noticed they had packet cereal on the side, I thought how the hell am I going to eat that, only to explore around and find a nice two litre of milk in the fridge waiting for me, along with a small orange juice and water, that was so nice of them, thank you so much! Also, I then ordered a take away and had every intention of going to collect and then next minute a member of staff was at my door with the food, so nice of them. I appreciate your business and kind gestures, will deffo stay again. Also the room was cute, bed comfy and shower hot. With coffee facilities too. Nice one.

We booked for 1 night and have to say was a little disappointed for what we paid. Firstly, Sam & staff are all amazing especially when dealing with the rude and often impolite locals. So I honestly can't fault them in anyway. We ordered food from the bar and it was all good quality and really nice. The downside was the room. Cannot fault the size, it was huge, and the bed was comfortable. One issue was over it over warm, I ended up having to turn off the radiator in the bathroom and have the window open so we could sleep as it just got too hot even without the radiator on in the bedroom. It was also difficult to sleep as the curtains were so thin, the carpark lights shone through during the night and then in the morning the room was bright with daylight. It actually wasn't worth haven't the curtains shut as made no difference at all. Now it's states you get a continental breakfast inc...for me and others I spoke too about this, I was expecting some fruit, a couple of pastries or croissants, cereal & juice. So imagine my disappointment when all got was a couple of cartons of juice, 3 packets of cereal and a bottle of milk and 1 small packet of biscuits to share between us. So I really wouldnt class that as a continental breakfast, and unfortunately I had to eat the cereal dry as I can't have dairy. Only one bottle of water for a room for two, which we also found strange. Shower was tiny, and the shower head didn't really let a jet of water out, if you tried to stand under it more the tap bar pressed into your back, so it was difficult to have a decent shower as there just was barely any pressure, although water was hot. Was it worth the £90 , I personally wouldn't say so, maybe if a better breakfast was on offer and a decent shower then yes but for what we actually got then no. It's a lovely pub but the rooms really need updating.

I've only been here once and sadly due to unfortunate circumstance through a friend at a wake, but the staff were brilliant, the pub is a great place and well laid out, the car park is small but I easily parked near by. If I lived nearer it would my local as I took to the atmosphere of the place. 5 stars

Outstanding - food was absolutely divine. We stayed over and had to be away early so landlady got up earlier than usual and made us bacon butties and tea and coffee to take with us. Went above and beyond to make us welcome.
