Meal with my boys. Food fantastic. Not Red House anymore, food was had in the Smokehouse and the ribs were unbelievable.

Really good BBQ, definitely recommend the brisket!

After a meal with a group of friends for a birthday celebration, we all wanted to pay separately, which was done without much fuss. However, we were about to leave & were informed that the bill was £30 light. We all went back through our meals explaining what we had from the menu & bar, and it was still wrong. In the end, the guy let us all go & said he would sort it out. This ruined what should have been a lovely evening. I tried to buy a drink from the bar before we had sat down & was told it was waiter service, which we had to wait for. Had we been allowed to buy our own drinks from the bar, like we do usually, it would have saved an awful lot of confusion. It don't believe waiter service is beneficial there. It means waiters/waitresses were running around with people's drinks when they could've been serving food instead. It didn't work & in my opinion, it was just madness. We won't be returning.

Just absolutely smack on excellent!

We didn't realise what we were walking into at first, as I thought it was just a regular pub, when I booked. Wow! What an atmosphere. I can't wait to return at a time when it's actually busy and the vibe is full on Cowboy! Our waiter, Daniel, was very attentive and knowledgeable about what one of our party could and couldn't eat regarding gluten. The food was awesome, and the choice was varied. My ribs fell off the bone, and the buttery mash was silky smooth! We will be returning soon.

Fantastic family friendly BBQ food at a great price.

I got smashed burger with fries and a bit of red cabbage salad. I would not choose it again, it was pretty bad actually. The patty was thin and dry, the bacon was dry and hard(seems like ready made bacon, how hard it is to friena fresh slice), fries were overdone and felt like were fried some time before served. It is a nice clean place, with good music. The young barman was a friendly lad. Place is great but food was a dissapointment. I would go back for a pint but not to eat.

Food was awful. Had half a roast chicken with corn on the cob and coleslaw. The chicken looked like it had been boiled not grilled with a jar of sauce that had been poured over after cooked. The corn was not even grilled tasted awful. Has the chef got his L plates out ha ha. The cajun prawns were nice. Very pricey. Won't be back again. 😌 Now the pub has changed to Big J's steak House not the red house.

Huge portions but no compromise on quality

Ordered Tacos, so overly saucy they all fell apart in my hands, excessively sweet BBQ chicken, beef chewy, mac & cheese was the highlight but luke warm and impossible to eat in Taco form. Cold fries, warm coleslaw. Offer of a reduction off the bill revoked as forced to pay in advance, the server offered free coffee instead as we were walking out the door. Empty restaurant except 2 other tables, both of whom complained as well.

Last minute lunch out, food was delicious 😋 and our waitress Lola very attentive. Will be back again

Highly themed American BBQ and grill. Food was pretty tasty and extensive menu to choose from. Would say if you're looking for a smokehouse, this probably wouldn't be my first recommendation. (The burnt ends left a lot to be desired!) But if you're after some hearty American style food with a fun atmosphere this is the one. For those hard of hearing the music is pretty loud just as a heads up!

Very disappointing. Can't understand how the restaurant had multiple 5 star ratings. We were squashed onto a table for 6 persons when there were 8 of us. No room on table for food and drinks. Food was tasteless, not smoked as advertised. Only the sausage had flavour. No-one asked our feedback during service as we would have commented on it. Drinks were short measured, not a full pint, just a glass full of ice. Was looking forward to this for weeks.

The prices were a little high considering this is such a suburban location.

Only stopped for a quick drink on the way home from work. Very welcoming staff. Made to feel welcome. Staff polite. Good service. Will book for food next time.

Music for too loud, couldn't hear yourself think, let alone talk to each other over Sunday Roast.

The triple tacos were delicious, melt in your mouth brisket, pulled pork and mac n cheese served with chips, smash burger was lovely and the mac n cheese was great too. Daughter loved the cowboy hat on the table, and the bucket of beer was a nice touch. Loved the decor too

Went here to meet a mate and stayed for my birthday dinner. All the staff were amazing, polite friendly and with a great attitude! Pedro (definitely his real name :) the Manager was fantastic and a barrel of laughs. Has great ideas for the future of the venue. What's the most important thing at a restaurant? Sorry, the second most important thing, after the staff?.. The food.. And the burger i had was exceptional. Patties cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned chips (i know it's a yankee themed pub - but i ain't calling them fries!) that came out HOT and Crispy. My only gripe was the teeny weeny tiny coleslaw. Come on guys, it's so bloody good that we want a bigger portion!!! (haha don't we all - giggidy) Birthday Guinness went down a treat too. Never give 5 stars as nowhere is ever perfect but this was very close.

We had a booking here for Sunday lunch today (14th Jan 2024) We arrived to find the pub closed and clearly this is a permanent thing. Having driven for an hour we weren’t happy. Totally irresponsible not to inform us- we called on 2nd Jan to check all ok with booking and were told yes. So we wld give it zero stars if we could.

I'd leave zero on all of these if I could. I had a reservation here today, even got a reminder yesterday, but after 2 hour journey to meet family for a birthday celebration, it was closed for refurbishment. Nothing on their website about this. If you have a booking suggest you call...What a huge disappointment.

Food is always great here, my 17 year old brother managed to even conquer the Henry vIII burger 😂 my nan also has parkinsons and the waitress who served us was absolutely amazing to her

A really nice friendly atmosphere. The staff are absolutely lovely, Josh was very attentive. We had a lovely meal, the steak pie was yummy and the carvery looked beaut. We will definitely be back!

This is one of my favourite restaurants but tonight was awful. It took 5 minutes for anyone to see to us when we arrived, even when we booked, the waitress and lad were oblivious we were there, the lad didn't know what the drinks were when handing them to us, when he handed us the meals he thought the salmon was seabass, the salmon must have been cook hours prior and left somewhere to keep warm as the thin end was so rubbery and chewy, it was inedible, the potatoes were the same, the lad came to us with another tables desserts, we asked for the bill and she totally forgot, it was like a sauna in there. There was really nothing nice about it. She asked us if everything was OK as she was taking the plates, and I said 'well no actually, the salmon.....' with which she walked away without listening. The lad came over and did exactly the same. He actually heard me, looked back, then walked off again. Maybe it was his first day, but im sure I've seen him there before. They really need to change the staff and chef. Won't be going back for a while. Such a shame.

A Thursday (21st December) Lunchtime trip for a carvery with a mate and the overall vibe was fine. Clean and tidy with an above average interior. The waitress was nice and took our drink orders along with letting us head up to the carvery quickly however the beer option on draught was 'possibly London pride'. I'd have liked more options, maybe I should have gone to the bar myself, but still... The pint was nice enough. Food was what you'd expect from a basic carvery. All aspects there, but the key bits restricted (even if the plate-size upgrade had been chosen) to a tiny chipolata, small stuffing ball and 2 thin slices of meat. Veg was acceptable, although cauliflower was stalky, and the swede/carrot crush was great! As a package, £20 for a large plate of grub and a beer is not to be sniffed at these days. I'd go in for a beer and a few chips in future but probably wouldn't eat unless someone had a strong preference.

Today myself and a friend visited the Red House in Newport Pagnell for a Festive Lunch, we were greeted politely, and shown to our table, where we had our drinks order taken. When it was ready we were invited to go up to the Carvery to get our meat served by the very friendly and polite Chef, and then you were able to help yourself to all the other side trimmings, and there was certainly a huge choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and dessert, the food was excellent, we are looking forward to our next visit very much.

Came here for a pre-booked Christmas meal last night, food was good but was let down by the very poor level of service, drinks orders were taken but it took a further 20 minutes for the soft drinks to arrive, there was only one cork screw on site which broke whilst they were trying to open the wine, the waitresses partially cleared tables and came back to clear a remaining plate just before the mains came out. The temperature inside was somewhat like a sauna. A different waitress asked is she could take our water jug away, presumably to give to another table because she rolled her eyes when we asked for it to be topped up instead. We had to ask for the bill three times, and when we asked to split it over a few card payments the manager said this wasn't possible. This place has potential to be good but management and staffing need to up their game.

Ok pub, lunch was ok. The GBG guide suggested there might be Hornes beer available, but unfortunately only ordinary London Pride. Still, The Red House did a job when we needed some lunch 👍

We booked for a Sunday roast. We waited an hour to be seated. Roast was reasonable accept for the beef which was unedible. We were offered alternatives. I had a dessert that I had previously enjoyed but that was not very nice on this day. I have returned here many times but rarely enjoy the experience. I shall not be returning this time. The server was very nice although a bit embarrassed about the delay and quality of beef.

We were a group of 10 people having our Christmas party lunch. We had a lovely waitress called Angel who was very attentive. We all had an enjoyable time.

It's been a while since our last visit, but the Sunday carvery was excellent, the waitress was exceptional, I wish I could remember her name!

Young untrained waiting staff. They did keep apologising for not knowing answers to our questions. Very slow service waiting for food and drinks. We waited so long for desert that we just paid up and left as it never arrived. My visit to the ladies toilets was appalling. No toilet paper, no soap, nothing to dry your hands after washing. We will not return.

Amazing. What a lovely place, staff are great and the atmosphere awesome. The drinks are well stocked and well priced. The food is on another level. Eight of us went and the food was simply epic: great portion size, quality was exceptional too. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

My dad suggested that we come here for the carvery lunch. We was not let down as we found the food very fresh and well cooked. The service staff were friendly and the venue seemed nice and clean.

Just went in on passing. Lovely atmosphere friendly staff and the food did look good. Will be going back in the next ten days with my other half for a meal.

Booked a table for 3.30 Sunday 15th October. On Arrival they couldn’t find the booking. Not a problem was shown to our seats waitress was lovely. Took drinks order some 30 minutes later still waiting. 45 minutes later was informed that a delay with carvery waiting for mash potatoes and new meat. Not a problem happy to wait. Unfortunately when we did sit to eat our dinner it was cold. Having heard good reports about their food was really looking forward to returning sadly it just didn’t seem like it had improved.

We had warm roast not hot felt a bit a waste of money but hungry so we didn't complane the staff were lovely and nice place we will go back but I think it was a one off they made us wate till they got more food nearly 35 minutes they apologise and we understood.maybe a microwave would be a good idea has customers can use its easy to do then say that it's not hot other then that OK.

The carvery was lovely. The chef cheerful and professional. The server was lovely. The food itself was amazing.

The food was amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection, the lamb on the shank just fell off the bone, best bit was that it was mashed potatoes not instant mash, the gravey was just right! will definitely be coming back here again!

Absolutely brilliant pub/Restaurant, staff very friendly and professional. The menu is well designed and dishes are great. No pressure to eat and leave . Overall great service and will definitely be going back.

Recently had my wife’s 60th birthday bash at the Redhouse (02/09/23). What a day! The food , buffet was plentiful, well presented and most importantly tasted fab. We had the secret garden and side room, our own mini bar, dedicated staff and have to say we can’t recommend highly enough. Massive thanks to Pedro and all the staff there! Love Fi and Pete x

We were quite a large party but they coped well. Two of our party had to go early and they had their dinners brought out first, very accomodating. Food was excellent

Honestly I would leave 6 stars if I could! Visited The Red House for my birthday today, my husband and I went for the afternoon tea. We had never been before and I was surprised a place like this did afternoon tea but I couldn’t be happier we decided to give it a try! As soon as we walked in I loved the place, the atmosphere and decor were perfect. The service from Pedro was absolutely impeccable, he was accommodating to my dietary requirements as I’m currently pregnant and was so polite and friendly. He really went above and beyond. The food was absolutely delicious and you could tell the chef really cared about the food he served, even down to the quality of the chicken in the sandwiches. Top notch! We will definitely be returning and I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Thank you The Red House for giving me a fantastic birthday lunch! :)

As my husband has an allergy to onions it was very refreshing that the waitress took her time to find out if choices had onions or onion powder included. The food was excellent, especially the vegetarian lasagne which I had. Would definitely recommend.

Sunday roast is great We usually go down once every couple of months and always have a cracking meal with friendly service. The only issue I ever run into is that the availability of a nice IPA to accompany it can sometimes be a bit patchy, but that’s what Guinness is for

I’ve been to the Redhouse about six times now, and every time they either don’t have what’s on the menu, or the food just isn’t great, recently had steaks that were all under done. To be fair the staff tried to sort it by reducing the bill. But the general experience of the Redhouse just isn’t great. Appreciate it’s my own opinion and others have had a great experience. But I won’t be visiting again.

Don’t waste your time BOOKING a reservation!!! Booked a table for 3 of us for dinner a week prior to bank holiday Monday man on the phone at the time was in a World of his own singing in the background etc left contact details and booked for 7.30pm arrived on the Monday at 7.25 only to be told by the girl behind the bar That the kitchen is closed so no food available I explained we had a table booked for 7.30pm she said I will check then Rudely said it’s 6.45pm in the book no apologies and nobody contacted us to query it really Poor service no point in leaving contact details then as nobody will contact you didn’t even stay for a pint and definitely won’t be returning.

Service appalling, 1.25 hour wait for service having pre-booked. Seafood tagliatelle didn't have any seafood in it.

I have eaten here many times lunch, dinner, cream tea and Xmas day! Food is great, staff are lovely and friendly, service can be a little slow, but it's popular.

Love and care are at the centre of this place. This bar has gone above and beyond. We came for a very tumultuous event and it couldn’t have been handled better. The staff have been incredible and the beer and food insane. Simply incredible!

Not great. Took nearly 3 hours to be served dry over cooked chicken, you have to find the waiting staff to order then when you order expect long delays.Since the new opening unfortunately its all gone down hill from our first visit. We had to find our own waiter to order our puddings which never arrived, they did take them off the bill obviously. Staff are friendly enough when you find them but the food has been a mix from people rating their mains as low as 4/10 up to 9/10. Hopefully its just a one off and we will take the company back there to give them another chance because the staff are nice and its a nice pub so I put this down to a bad day in the office and should it be better I will change the rating but so far, its a 2 star.....

As another reviewer experienced. Arrived on evening of 3 March having received an email reminder for our booking just two days prior - only to find the restaurant was closed. No warning or communication was given and we had to find another somewhere else to eat. However the most annoying part is that, having sent you a friendly email to enquire about this the following day, nobody could be bothered to respond/apologise for the inconvenience.

You accept an online booking... follow that up with an email saying "looking forward to seeing you"... then follow that up with a request for review. All good so far? Only problem is that you are currently CLOSED FOR REFURBISHMENT! How on earth did neither your booking system or website know this??? Good job we found out before actually trying to take our table!

Enjoyed it very much. Food was tasty and hot. Will return soon.

What amazing food. The prices are what you pay for freshly prepared food. The food was very enjoyable and served hot. All products were made fresh and hard to tell if they used packet ingredients .

Nice enough place but having been several times over last couple of the years, service is slow. Staff are friendly enough and place is nice but hard to gwt excited about- just dont be in a rush for eating.
