Had a wonderful early evening on Saturday at The Red House. We were 'babysitting' my niece and nephew and nothing was too much trouble. They enjoyed their food so much (both ate from the adults menu) and were at ease the whole time. Nicky was a star... As always.. She's an amazing asset to the Greene King chain... She'd make an amazing pub manager, area manager or anything... Makes sure you don't lose her...

Everytime we visit The Red House, we always have a great experience. Dee and her team always make us feel so welcome and are always so kind and lovely and always very friendly with my young daughter. The food is always delicious, the service is always great and we would definitely recommend the Red House to friends and family. We know we will always enjoy our meal when visiting the Red House.

Amazing staff and great food and drink

Went with friends to specifically take advantage of the 20% off on the Greene King app as the app said was accepted by the Red House. The member of staff refused to scan the QR code and needless to say we went elsewhere

Two old women with medical conditions out for lunch. Niki the waitress welcomed us and treated us wonderfully making sure we did not feel embarrassed by ordering small and vegan meals. She ensured we understood what was available and we really appreciated her input. I had to take home part of my meal and that was no trouble for her. Thank you Red House. My new favorite place to lunch with friends

Came in late lunchtime bank holiday Nikki and Jack were fantastic very accommodating we have a little frenchie and not only were we met with open house but so was Duke. Will def return we didn’t eat on this occasion but we had a lovely experience.

Very good for a quiet lunch. It has a good 'Greene King' menu. This is a family pub restaurant and is not at all raucous. If you park in the car park next to the pub, remember to enter your vehicle's registration number at the bar to avoid being 'fined' by the operator of the car park.

Went into the Red House..Croxley today.. Had lunch..was excellent as usual.. Served by Nikki (Blue) who is always customer focused..bubbly and hard working...she goes the extra mile and more..and Maggie too.... Just a great run family oriented Public house which we have frequented for over 20 years...mention to Dee who keeps it ship shape...all round pleasant visit...

Great pub, friendly staff and a decent pint

A nice "local" pub serving a great selection of beers and competitively priced food. The service is first class. For those who prefer a more sporty pub their sister pub the Fox and Hounds is just around the corner in New Road.

Food was incredible and service was even better! Nikki made it such a wonderful experience.

Put in your number plate if you use the car park, very quick and easy to do. Love the staff very accommodating.

I came here on the 13th May with my friend and our two dogs. My friend walked in to ask where the dogs could go etc as I know dogs can only be in certain areas in the pub - seemed fine, I then came in with the two dogs, and before I could even react the worker was shouting ‘no no no no under 18’s’, I understand that I am a young looking 26 year old, but shouting across so the whole pub could hear is quite embarrassing to say the least. When showing her my ID, and trying to make light of the joke, there was no apology and she seemed to say alright let’s stop speaking about it. We ordered our drinks and sat at the table which was actually invested with ants which completely put us off eating anything. To top this experience off, I have recieved a £100 fine for parking which of course I’ve appealed against - would not recommend coming. They say they’re dog friendly but you seem to just get dirty looks of the workers to be honest - definitely wouldnt worth going.

The food was substandard , the katsu was frozen and served with hot canned curry it felt . We came for fathers day but very very disappointed food. We also tried the risotto which was half cooked rice. Not recommended.

It may be the dreaded Greene King but this Abbot Ale is possibly the best I've ever had. Perfect temp, clarity, Aroma & taste. Well done you guys. Was only popping in for one to check the pub out but a second is needed. Edit 6yrs later. Can't believe it's 6yrs since I was last here. Abbot taste amazing again. Might stay for another, might even get food. It's a great pub

Popped in for coffee and cake with my 86 year old mum. Nice service not too busy and coffee was hot and cake fresh. Would recommend.

I keep getting letters from 'Britannaia parking', the Restaurant has told me to keep ignoring all letters and that they've cancelled my parking charge but I'm still getting letters with threatening court action? I ate in this restaurant and the car has been logged. What is going on? why are customers being pestered a year after with a lot of letters including from the court house? This is really bad for your business, can someone stop this nuisance.

Really rude told me they ran out of my drink then poured it for someone else. Really rude staff and bar stuff rolled their eyes when we made a simple order. Won’t be back again. Also encouraged to order on the app, then was told “we don’t look at those orders”. Will give this place a miss in the future

We are locals and visited for a drink - we ordered drinks to our table on the app and they didn’t arrive, it seems like they don’t check their app orders because we had to go and show them what we ordered on the app before they made the drinks for us. We then accidentally sat down in the restaurant area, deliberately picking a table that didn’t say ‘reserved’. One of the members of bar staff came up to us and abruptly told us we can’t sit there because it’s the restaurant. As we started getting up to leave, we said sorry for sitting there, but explained that there wasn’t a reserved sign on the table so we didn’t realise. The member of bar staff cut us off and angrily said we should’ve waited to be shown to a table in the restaurant area (again, no sign to say that anywhere). The frustrating thing wasn’t being told not to sit there, it was the way she delivered it and then rudely interrupted our apology to tell us off loudly in front of other customers. We regret spending money on several rounds of drinks and we definitely won’t be coming back.

Ordered on the app, 45 minutes later we hadn't received our order. When speaking to the staff they wandered over to where it prints the tickets off and said "oh yeah"... which was very rude. They told my friend they can't make anymore Long Island Iced Tea as they had run out of the "ingredients" all of which are common spirits, so I struggled to see how that was the case. We sat down at a table and another member of staff said you can't sit here it's reserved (no sign or anything) when my fiancee said "oh right we didn't know" we got a horrible response from the staff saying "yeah that's why you wait to be seated" again no sign anywhere that mentioned this. Overall staff were absolutely horrendous and if they cared about their customer service they should be deeply disappointed and ashamed.

Lagers are very average compared to others pubs and not worth the price your paying. They are not of the quality one would expect of premium lagers such as Peroni

Unreal service. 3 for £5 on Sambuca sorted us right out. Best pub in Hertfordshire.

We enjoyed a delightful Mother's Day lunch with excellent staff and a delicious roast dinner. Thank you the Red House!

Visited here with a family group of around 9-10 with 4 young children. The staff were amazing and very accommodating and the food did not disappoint. The price was reasonable and would definitely visit again. Thank you Red House

Staff dreadful no manners food was cooked lovely by the chef can't fault the food I asked for the bill from waitress her face was like thunder she announced my bill very loudly no please no thank you just snatched my cash bought back change Scott was a lovely young man very helpful but wasn't in our section of the restaurant toilets spotless

I really enjoyed the food especially the gammon steak and eggs and chips out for a nice the service was great the atmosphere was fantastic and I will definitely go going back a few other times and plus the restaurant is a great atmosphere especially outside it's great and yeah

Stopped here to get an uber due to train strikes and the AM Max was very helpful, kind and a perfect gentleman.

Not a family pub. I was told that I could not be in the eating area after 9 with my 14 year old daughter. 18 plus only. So left.

Was great last year for Xmas dinner, but absolutely shocking this year. Don't know why they let anything leave the kitchen!

Was a sub standard meal for a recommended place for good food by a friend. Had the fish cakes which could.have had more taste to it. Desert was again ok not what I had expected as advised by many.

Bit chilly near carpark exit but soon warmed up. Speedy service:friendly staff and good staff.

The pub is nice and the quiz is great but the service has much to be desired. I waited over an hour and a half for food, asking about it twice, with hardly an appology when it did finally show up. I can sympathise that the bar was busy, but there wasn't nearly enough staff serving to offset the demand. The staff themselves seem passive and bored, if they were stressed by the amount of people waiting they certainly didn't seem to work any quicker to get people served. Nothing wrong with a polite "sorry for the wait, how can I help?" either. I don't mind waiting to be served if the staff are at least mindful of the situation - seemed like they didn't care at all 🤷🏼‍♀️

Service was poor, The pub was not very busy as it was lunchtime. we ordered two children's desserts which did not arrive. Staff said they were coming. Waited 25 mins and then asked for a refund. Staff reluctant to give us a refund, l felt very underwhelmed. Children were upset at not having their desserts.

Very short of staff. Waited 55 minutes for the starter to arrive. Lovely young waitress tried her best but very under pressure.Our table waited another 50 minutes before main course arrived.My Mushroom Wellington the pastry was burnt. I didn't send back no one about. No one at our table was eating at the same time. The three guests at my table had finished their main course long before mine arrived.The place was completely booked up but not enough staff, sadly some chaos spoiled our visit. I think until they employ more staff they should close some tables down. The few staff who worked so hard could provide a good service to those who are booked in and the numbers are managable for them. Also the food would be delivered sooner to the guests.

Too many dogs allowed to sit on laps at the dining tables in the bar area. Dog blankets being brought into the pub.

Staff are always amazing and really make your day / evening

I pop in for fish and chips on Friday. The fish size was like kids portion. Chips just average, tartare sauce taste like cheapest market one, mush peas without taste. All of this for 14 quid. Very disapointed.

The service was great, drink prices were ok and fairly average compared to other pubs, the atmosphere was relaxed with enough activity. The food was very nice and tasty, unfortunately like everywhere else portion sizes have shrunk , while other food items no longer accompany the dish. I had lasagna which resembled the size of a child's portion and it's no longer with chips making the whole dish the size of a child portion of food. Without sounding condescending, I can make a tasty slightly spiced hotpot with scone topping, plus a potato and vegetable soup to serve 5 for £10 .

Just happened to be passing by and decided to pop in for food and so glad we did! Had the sausage and mash on the specials and it was lovely. My daughter's food was also lovely. It came out hot and the wait wasn't long at all. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. But what really made the place was the service from Nikki. She was all over serving everyone with a smile, a warm welcome, attentive happy and efficient. She really was a star and made for hospitality. We will definitely return.

We have recently tried the sister pub to this one, and it wasn't a patch on this. The staff here are just as keen and friendly, but the whole experience was much better. The only thing not available was broccoli,not exactly the end of the world! Beer was well kept. We will be back.

My partner and I are regulars here. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is good honest grub. They have a covered garden area with smoking and non smoking areas, parking is available too. Dee the manageress is great, we have a fussy eater in the family and she allowed us to change our Christmas Dinner, for them. Would highly recommend.

The burger bun was month's old and meat was zero salt or flavour. Also my son got week old cut up cucumbers. These bits do not take time to prepare so not sure why it couldn't be fresh? Also wonder if person who prepared our food would eat that themselves as the quality was appalling. Also very long waiting time for the food although not busy place at all. Please bear in mind if you drink at this pub that non alcoholic beer which is 0.0% is not serviced under 18's!

Don't bother. They can't keep a cellar. The beer is awful. Pop up the road to the fox and hounds. They can pour and keep and pint

Lovely place the atmosphere was lovely and the food wasn’t too expensive! Would recommend and I’m planning to go back with some friends!

The food was amazing and the serving was really fast, especially for such a busy place! I went there with my friend and we were both were pleased of not only the atmosphere but the food and kind service, can't wait to go back there!

Being told that children can't even sit in the garden after 7 is ridiculous.

Nice place. Was very busy, but the food and service still good. Had the steak and Ale pie, which was a good size and delicious.

Great local pub with a lovely beer garden and tasty inexpensive food. Our barman Stephen was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We're definitely coming back.

Pub quiz on a Thursday evening is great fun

It has been a very long time since I've visited the Red House, so much has changed, management , staff, decor and layout. I used to love bringing kids here some days and we were always received with a warm welcome from staff as well as patrons. I wasn't sure about the menu as I knew the staff previously so decided for a mixed grill. I'm not sure how I felt about the chicken but the steak was beautifully cooked and gammon was lovely. Dog friendly, great selection of alcohol, wine and mixer tonics to suit your fancy. Staff polite, helpful and the atmosphere is actually really a delight Saying that this was early pm so I couldn't tell you about the nightlife. If you like cheese, baked camembert.... That is all 😉 On the whole it feels good to be back and I'd definitely be revisiting

Ridiculous parking restrictions, the car park is always empty now. I used to visit the pub regularly however I won’t be going there again.

It was not busy at all even on Friday.

This is taking into account that my missus loves this place. Apparently it's a girly girl type of pub unlike the one I took her too earlier on our romantic date nite.

I received a £100 fine for using the car park which used to be free for the general public. All I did was pop to the local shops for less than 30 mins. This establishment are money grabbers! The local shops are being massively affected by this. I'll never be drinking at the red house pub or using their money grabbing car park again. The car park is ALWAYS empty anyway so don't understand the point in this new system.. The Red house is probably the worst pub in Croxley so no loss. Good luck maintaining your customers!

The Red house is a very nice pub / restaurant with quit a good sized seating area, with seating outside as well as in.The interior is well decorated and the staff very friendly and helpful. We had two meals and a starter which cost us about £30 and the food was good. Will be going here again.

Lovely dinner , environment is clean and staff were friendly. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, limited ale on tap and slow desserts

My friends and l had lunch at the Red House Croxley Green. We had a lovely relaxing time, the staff did everything to make sure we were enjoying our visit. We had the senior meals which we enjoyed very much. Meals were very tasty and Reasonably priced. We are Ladies who Lunch and this is definitely one of our favourites. Lovely local pub, dog friendly section. Classic selection and good prices on menu. Food nice, friendly staff. Space outside and convenient parking.

The poor staff are pressured by their own success! We went on a Thursday, which is Steak and Quiz night. They were booked solid (so best to check) and were waiting for all their reserved tables to be filled. The family ahead of us were turned away for dinner. We were just a party of two and they asked if we minded sitting at a table in the bar rather than the restaurant. Couldn't have been less worried... but I do know that the folks turned away, were a bit vexed. It was about space!! So appreciated getting a table! We ordered a Pepsi Max, half a Guinness extra cold and we both had the gammon 8oz with eggs. Absolutely wicked slice of posh gammon. Pub cut thick rather than supermarket round and perfectly cooked. Eggs with crispy edges, well done chips. Just pub dinner perfection! The absurd value for money was startling. The bill was under £20!

Having frequently visited the red house for lunch or an early dinner. In the past the food used to be cooked and served without hardly any issues. However unfortunately we have come to find that the food presentation, and service at best is POOR. Perhaps some staff training may help, as the basic customer service is seriously lacking. Will be sometime before i would even consider returning.

Great choice of food, some specials offers depending on what you're having and what time you're eating. It's good value and Parking is ok. You're also very very close to Croxley Green train station.
