Great food and atmosphere. Food was all fresh and very well cooked. Super cool plave in a historic building with lovely decor .

We’ve been 4 times now, food is always excellent. Sunday Roasts, Thai Green Curries, Burgers, Korean Ribs, Salads. All excellent, lovely interiors, great service, nice atmosphere.

A family outing for my parents 56th wedding anniversary. 3 vegetarians out of 7 of us, we all found something tasty to eat, mixing starters and sides and mains. It was a lovely setting, such a surprise to go out the back, bright and cheerful. We had a long, leisurely lunch, very attentively looked after. A lovely and delicious experience!

The food was tasty & well presented, my only criticism was that it could have been hotter when it got to me. The staff were attentive and keen to give us a pleasurable experience. I would definitely eat there again. Thank you for a lovely roast dinner and letting us sit and chat for 3 hours!!!

Bit of a pilgrimage. I had a "Marnie", their take on a Margherita, rest traditional cocktails, all excellent. Magnificent restaurant. Knowledgeable waitress, moonlighting from Whipps Cross next door, explained that fans were relatively few. Modern filmgoers not interested? Troubles with Tippi Hendren? Who knows? Food & service could not've been better. Our baby needed his bed, so missed the jazz. Too bad. We'll be back.

My wife and I had been out and decided to have a quick drink, before heading home. We was going to go to my local, but we were passing the Alfred Hitchcock so I suggested we head in there. It has been a while since we last went, and it’s clearly been given a makeover, the bar looks nice. We decided to have a bite to eat as well but nothing took our fancy, and it did expensive for what and where it was. We ordered burgers, but had to pay for a separate portion of chips, something that really annoys me, and a fiver to boot. Anyway, the burgers were nice, the chips, well you couldn’t have had a smaller portion if you tried (50p per chip, sad but true), but this 2 pints and a white wine spritzer came to nearly £60, which is a joke. Staff were pleasant, but I’m afraid we’ll never be returning. As an extra note, my wife is waiting for a knee replacement. The toilets are downstairs, and my wife wanted to use them but wasn’t able too, and, the car park wasn’t very well lit, and very uneven, and again wasn’t perfect for my wife. So anyone with walking difficulties beware.

We went for a themed night - A conversation with Suggs from Madness. Suggs was on a little stage interviewed by Ruth, the restaurant manager, brilliantly done and hysterically funny. (I now have bragging rights that I spoke to Suggs). I had a proper Mojito in the cosy cocktail bar, hubbie had a Guinness. Then we were helped into the beautiful sparkly, with tree, dinning room and sprawled in one of the cute booths. I had very pretty fresh plump oysters to start, huge prawns with a spicy dipping sauce for the main and an omg lovely gooey chocolate thing for pudding. (Perfect presentation for instagram photos etc) We had a bottle of the house white and I had another glass of white later, lovely. All the staff are shiny, happy and super efficient 🥰

I visited with my husband and daughter at approximately 1.30. the menu on the front gate is different to the one we were given, we were given the brunch menu. my daughter is vegetarian and there was no choice for her, she ended up with a salad starter which consisted of lettuce and a few croutons. they are quite expensive in my opinion we paid 14.95 for a chicken burger which didn't come with anything, chips were 5.00 extra and you dont get many of those. overall the food was ok but nothing special. I tried to access the menus online but was unable to. although its a very nice looking place inside and out I dont think I will be going there again.

I wish this restaurant was more central - the converted pub has a wonderful atmosphere and a great menu. It's on the pricier side but it's worth it to have a nicer restaurant in the area.

We stayed at the Hitchcock hotel and dined at the Rear Window restaurant both days. The food was great, Sunday roast sensational and the service from Filby was the best we have had in weeks of travelling. A definite positive experience that we would be happy to repeat.

Thanks to good old Instagram, I was tempted into trying this place. Well, I was blown away by the warmth and professionalism of the service. The dining room is delightful. The brunch menu is classic and simple and all the produce we had on our plates was good quality. I had scrambled eggs and salmon and it was just perfect. The cocktails were excellent. I will be back again very soon and also for dinner. Note: The view from the "rear window" is not the best (a car park!) but that didn't spoil the ambience, especially because I had my back to it.

What a lovely venue. We didn’t know what to expect but were really pleasantly surprised. Everything was cooked to perfection and it feels like a great choice for a special occasion because of how beautiful the restaurant is. It is also nearby to the boating lake if you visit during the daytime. The staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

I think this place is really special. 3rd or 4th time here and have such fun every time. Great for an occasion / birthday etc. I love the tuna ceviche and ribs (starters). Absolutely stunning place with a magnificent staff! It is a beautiful hidden jem and a must go to for cocktails and/or food! Incredible food and the atmosphere whether you are at the bar, restaurant or outside seating it’s always great and always a great time!!
