Superb Indian restaurant, with an extensive menu, all beautifully prepared and served. Well worth a visit.

Went for an Indian meal last night with my best friend, as she says she always orders her Indian takeaway from Raj , well I have to say I have eaten Indian food all over the UK and abroad , and nothing matched this meal it was absolutely amazing, good portions and perfect in every way I would recommend the Raj to family and friends, they do a Sunday buffet to which I will definitely be going , the service was fantastic, and very friendly staff , I can not praise the Raj enough, thank you for a perfect evening

Best Indian restaurant in Leighton Buzzard

I’m not sure what has happened but we have used the raj for years, the naan breads tasted sour, the peshwari rice we ordered was not peshwari even though it was written on the lid, my keema rice had so much coriander it took over the whole taste a very poor performance this time.

The shop said late because of traffic but when I submitted complaint to just eat they said they were busy tonight. Asked for a refund not all of it but a gesture of. Goodwill would have been nice because the food was delicious but I am unlucky to order again due to the 2 different reasons

Sadly not the greatest.Meat Samosas were hard and looked either overcooked or reheated,plus you only get 2 when other places give you 3.Mushroom rice and Chicken Vindaloo were ok,nothing special but bottle of drink wasn't delivered.Underwhelming to be honest!

This is literally the best Indian in the entire world (willing to fight anyone who disagrees) with the nicest customer service. The food is excellent and the staff are so friendly. We booked a family meal tonight, the restaurant was busy so I’m glad we booked. The food was delicious as always We had mains and sides, I’m the food has so much more flavour than the other Indian restaurants in Leighton Buzzard. The people working here, particularly the owner were all attentive and lovely, warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend anyone coming to try this restaurant. We will be back.

Despite booking a table over a month ago, two family members travelling over two hours to meet us and enjoy a meal at an old family favourite. The Raj is now a place I'll not go back to and can't strongly enough suggest to others not to use either. Why do I feel that way and encourage you not to use The Raj!? Our booking was cancelled without telling us to make way for a large party instead. Looking at us as if we were a huge inconvenience, telling us to get out as they had no room in the restaurant. Then the vaguest most dismissive apology from them before ignoring questions of how did this happen. An honest apology would have been 100% better than telling us we made a mistake and that we were wrong, before getting their booking confirmations diary out to us. With our booking heavily scribbled out. For accusing me and my family of lying about having made the booking. For having family travel a long way on the expectation of enjoying a nice meal be disappointingly taken away from us. For not having the courtesy to call us and advise the table reservation will need to be amended. For tainting a lot of good memories we have of The Raj by treating us as nuisance time wasters and making out, initially, that we were the ones that were fabricating having booked a table. For having two members that are not of good health, one whom made the long distance travel, suffer episodes of anxiety. After many years of convincing friends and family to use The Raj, you've just lost yourself loyal 4 customers. Actually more, including other immediate family members within the town bringing the number of regular and semi-regular customers you've lost to almost 20. Including potentially all my friends and people through my work place when I advise them to not use The Raj again. Thank you for some good times over the years but sadly the poor way you treated us has resulted in me and my family to never use your establishment again.

I normally enjoy food from the Raj but my meal was terrible. Chicken packers was bland and had no flavour. The biryani was also flavorless and the sauce that came with it was thick and would not coat the rice. It was a different recipe than normal. Did not enjoy

Asked for Rojan Jish but very spicy, and was very mild. No spice at all. Also lamb was very fatty. Everything else ok, but average quality at best. Just like every other Indian restaurant in town these days.

First time with the raj and the last. Tikka was ok Korma was ok Nan bread not good, popadoms not good onion badgi not good very disapointed.

Love it... Only just discovered it after 6 years of visiting the town... We go early so uts always quiet hence the 3 star for atmosphere.. But everything else is top notch :)

Our families preferred choice, the restaurant is dated... However this to me is more important than anything, the food and then secondly the service. I've eaten at most local restaurants and the Raj is my go to for Indian, always of a high quality. The only issue really is a lack of parking nearby, it's Linslade and not too far from the train station so parking is normally a pain.

The meat in the curries was vey dry. Will be trying different restaurants from now on.

If your after good customer service and beautiful food this place is it only reason I give it 4 out of five on atmosphere is purely it could do with a little re fresh nothing more the owner is very welcoming and staff I can't fault if you like a good curry this is your place they also cater for people who don't eat curry you have a English menu for family members who don't fancy it . Many thanks for my lovely time here to the owner will definitely be back .

Always my first choice for Indian takeaway! Always packed with flavour and fresh quality ingredients! I would recommend the chicken tikka vindaloo if you like spice! :) Yum!

Had 4 different types of curry all were extremely salty and although the portions looked big the meat quantity was very small a lot of sauce and veg but no meat

Nice takeaway but not for me. Currys are too tomato based which felt acidic in places. Dhansak was spicy which I like but the tomatoes overpowered the flavour of the lentils. Kashmiri had way too many bananas and not enough lychee. It was okay.

Food was fine, just disappointed with the popadoms that were stale and soft. Normally they are fresh, shouldn’t really send out popadoms like that

Ordered takeaway from here for the first time. The flavours were alright but by God the food was swimming in grease, the vegetable curry was literally floating in grease in the takeaway box. I am not sure if this was just a one off or not. I am not sure I would try this place again.

Went for their Sunday afternoon buffet for a family birthday celebration. Nice staff, good choice of food and very tasty. Had a non curry eater, good 3 to 4 choices of something with chips with a good sized portion. Couldn't manage even a kulfi ice cream. Would def go again

I had high expectations when looking at reviews but the pasanda was tasteless and the Pakora’s had an off consistency. Food came quick and was hot but it just lacked quality and taste. Not sure what restaurant is like but there are better takeaways in area.

Ordered delivery from here, was quite disappointed. I ordered Tandoori King Prawns and was very disappointed with the small size of the prawns for the price, not to mention they were overcooked and chewy. The mushroom rice barely had any mushrooms in and the naan bread was doughy and had very little flavour. The Bringal bhaji was undercooked and bitter too. These dishes are usually my favourite, and I've had them for very similar prices but much higher quality at other restaurant The reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is that the poppadoms were decent, and the selection of dips were good. I liked the mint raita, the lime pickle, and the mango chutney. I really wanted to like this place, but was thoroughly disappointed.
