Our 3rd meal here and the 1st since the recent refurbishment. Fantastic food and great service as always. Definitely recommend the Lamb Shajahan!

Tonight was the first time I tried The Raj and I wasn't disappointed. It was one of the best restaurants I've visited in a long long time and I will definitely be returning. The service was excellent and guys there were more than helpful catering for my order. Food was delicious 😋 and everything tested very good , especially king prawn was very flavourful.

I Was in wadebridge for work, Picked up a takeaway this evening at the raj they have reopened, food was was fantastic the staff were very friendly a brilliant experience, see you next month

Came from the Midlands.....Great place to eat. Portions are massive....bigger than anywhere in England....so Wadebridge count yourself very lucky. The front of the house is very very polite.

The staff at the Raj are extremely pleasant friendly and professional The food was excellent I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Absolutely gawjuss. Thank god we found this place! They even gave us free poppadoms to take home with a big tub of tamarind home made lovely sauce. 💯💯💯💯

Coming from Birmingham we have high expectations of Indian restaurants the raj met all of them friendly and helpful staff lovely food great portions..and fair prices . I would definitely recommend it ..

We were the only customers in and we waited 15 mins before having our order taken. Food was mundane. Cold and clinical interior.

Delicious food,both meat and vegetarian dishes, and the food stayed hot for a 20 minute drive back home.Friendly and polite staff aswell.

Delicious vegetarian chef's special with green peppers, tomatoes etc and stuffed paratha. Very tasty and reasonable price compared to other dinners I've had in Cornwall. I'll be back in a week when I have a second night in Wadebridge!

i have looked at the reviews for this restaurantand many say it is pricey? theres not much in it against other restaurants within a 25mile radius. the food looks superb. ive booked a table and imgoing to try it out tonight as a birthday treat!

Paid for my food, got home and checked the menu to find I had been overcharged. Clearly my fault for trusting the staff. On the food side I can say the food isn't as good anymore. Such a shame as it was really good. It's not cheap so you hope it's good. Disappointing I'm writing this review.

Lovely food, great service, friendly staff however it was a Friday evening and we were the only people in the restaurant so no atmosphere and had to eat meal with 2 jackets and a jumper on as it was freezing in there, don't think it has central heating as I saw around 3 mobile gas burner heaters.

Sorry but I haven't had a decent curry South of Weston Super Mare. This place is no exception.

Our takeaway was excellent and good portion sizes.

First time we have had food from here. We ordered a take away. The service was polite and the food was ready to collect at the time we were given. The food was hot when we got it back. It was tasty and not greasy, we had a mixture of lamb and chicken dishes and all were excellent. Definitely will be back and would recommend.

4 popdums £8! Ordered 2 chicken tikka marsalas and asked for one to be extra spicey ended up with 2 very bland curries with the texture of wallpaper paste...chicken bland, rice characterless and 2 flat diet cokes. The waiter kept asking me if I wanted my change as I paid cash repeated to him twice yes I want my change back ? Then after 10 minutes had to ask another waiter for my change back? Thought he was obviously worth a tip instead of me leaving a tip after. No tip for self entitlement here my friend after I paid 8 quid for a few poppadoms. Bill £ 66 for a below average meal and experience.

Food was beautiful, tasty and fresh! The chicken especially was cooked perfect and tasted delicious. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We went in with 3 toddlers and 2 babies. Normally meals out are stressful and hard but the staff all interacted with the children and made us feel so comfortable even when the children were being loud. Luckily we went as soon as they opened so we were the first and only ones there whilst we ate. It began to get busy just as we were leaving so we timed it well. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again 😊

The food is very very bad had order some mutton curry we ask for spice food but it was so sweet it was so terrible could eat more than a spoonful. They need to change the chef at the earliest. The service and ambiance is okay.

Lovely food, good service, was quiet with a couple of other tables in use. It's open 7 days a week which is good as most places in Wadebridge are closed Sunday/ Monday evening.

Nothing vegan at all! The worst Indian restaurant I’ve had the misfortune to visit in my entire 72 years. Terrible atmosphere too or rather, no atmosphere at all!

I recently visited Raj Restaurant in Padstow Harbour, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. As someone who appreciates authentic Indian cuisine and has traveled extensively, I was disappointed by the high prices, the lackluster taste, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Let's start with the prices. I found them to be exorbitantly high, especially considering that I've visited numerous Indian restaurants throughout the UK and have never come across such steep prices. The most shocking aspect was being charged £5.00 for a naan bread, which is significantly higher than anywhere else I've been. It left me feeling like I was being taken advantage of as a customer. Moving on to the taste, I was expecting flavors reminiscent of Indian cuisine, but instead, it seemed like Raj Restaurant leaned more towards a Bangladeshi style. As an Indian myself, I have a deep appreciation for the diverse range of flavors and spices that Indian cuisine offers. Regrettably, the dishes I sampled lacked authenticity and failed to deliver the expected taste experience. The curry, in particular, was a letdown and lacked the vibrant and aromatic flavors that make Indian curries so delightful. Furthermore, the overall ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant didn't live up to my expectations. The decor was uninspiring, and the service was average at best. While I understand that the focus should primarily be on the food, a pleasant dining environment can greatly enhance the overall experience. Based on my visit to Raj Restaurant, I cannot recommend it to others seeking an authentic Indian culinary experience. The high prices, lack of genuine flavors, and underwhelming atmosphere make it difficult to justify dining there. As someone who has had the privilege of exploring various restaurants around the world, I believe there are better options available in the area. I encourage those in search of Indian cuisine in Padstow Harbour to explore other restaurants, read reviews, and seek recommendations from locals. It's essential to find an establishment that aligns with your taste preferences and provides an enjoyable dining experience. Overall, my visit to Raj Restaurant was disappointing, and I hope that the management takes this feedback into consideration to improve their offerings and meet the expectations of discerning diners.

Disgusting no manners rude arrogant abrupt ZERO stars do NOT visit this place

Zero wasn’t an option. Worst food ever. We ordered chana chat and they messed up the order - we got chicken chaat instead which isn’t even a dish on their menu. Biryani had no salt at all, daal tarka was just boiled daal without salt. Guess they ran out of salt in the restaurant. Not recommended at all.

Took my sister out for her birthday on a quiet Thursday night. The food itself was okay but one member of staff could have been friendlier to make the experience a bit more pleasant - maybe they were having an off day though? 3/5

It was quite good.... It was a cold, dark Monday night in Feb so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised that there was very little atmosphere and the room was a touch cold. Most places in the town were shut so perhaps they deserve a bit of kudos for at least being open. The service was quite good and the food was alright - I bet this place is better in spring/summer when there are more people and you can see over the river.

Terrible experience. One angry looking Indian waiter paying no attention to customers strolling around doing nothing. 2 British old hags (staff/owners) shouting at staff & creating negative environment. Rubbish food

Ample parking available. Restaurant was very busy with takeaways, not so busy in Restaurant. Lots of seating available. Heaters dotted around to keep you warm although did smell as they were portable gas heaters. Very friendly, happy staff. Slow to take the order (but busy, so I understand) but fast to bring the food. Good size portions 👍

1st class food particularly the excellent King prawn dishes, can only manage two courses you do need a big appetite as the starters in comparison to other restaurants are the equivalent of a main course, could only give 4stars for atmosphere as on recent visits the weather was below freezing and effected the amount of customers present.

We just met here for dinner with a friend to break up the post Christmas slump and it was really good. Really tasty and lovely service.

I took my mother for an Indian meal at The Raj tonight. We are from London so are familiar with great Indian restaurants. The food and service at the Raj was fantastic. Would strongly recommend anyone in wadebridge visits this restaurant. 5 stars. Little Abdul served us and was a delight ❤️

Very nice restaurant with a great menu and excellent food. A 15 miles round trip from Padstow but worth it.

Food was delicious, only waited 10 minutes. Very comfortable surroundings but a flight a stairs as you enter which could be troublesome for those with mobility problems.

Fantastic meal with my husband and children. Warm, friendly staff and great food. It was my children's first experience of an Indian restaurant and they loved it!

Staff were friendly, but food was pretty expensive, id of given more stars had the food been exceptional, but it was just like any other ok indian restaurant, we had one curry with rice, one other main dish, 6 poppadoms chips and two beers, it cost over £63 😐 safe to say in the current climate i wont be going again.

Food was 8/10. Very nice main course had by all of us. Poppadoms tasted stale. Service was very quick, too quick!. We weren't asked if we wanted puddings and the bill was presented without us asking for it. They were busy and seemed they wanted us out as ASAP. The pricing is very high especially on sundries like rice and naan bread. Lots of curries over priced too. That said the food was very tasty.

Food was nice, and staff friendly but a bit over priced for a standard curry.

Unfortunately for my some of my lamb bhuna meat was almost RAW🤮 I'd already eaten four or five pieces of meat,so finding this really put me off eating anything else. The meal was quickly sent back and was removed from the bill. Also found to be lacking in atmosphere and Expensive .

I had such a fantastic experience at this dine in, the staff were so welcoming and the hospitality is simply great! Food is delicious, highly recommend it.

The food was lovely, we really enjoyed it! We however felt it was very expensive. Nearly £7 each for starters so we just had mains etc, which came to nearly £50! Staff were friendly and welcoming!

Missed my Indian food, so we popped in for some. The restaurant is situated right on the estuary next to some industrial units, dont let that put you off tho. There is parking right outside too in their car park. Service was good and the staff are polite, prices were reasonable and portion sizes were okay too. The food was tasty, I find Indians always hit and miss when out in the sticks, so was pleasantly surprised. They have a decent range of beers and drinks here too. If you're after an Indian, then it's not bad to be fair. Might visit again if in Wadebridge......

Go to Tesco and buy a microwave curry and rice. Quality is near identical.

Ignore high prices everyone else is saying. Its all very reasonable for an Indian down in the centre of town. Lovely staff and felt comfortable to make some jokes with them. Would visit again :)

not the best Indian food served by an indifferent waiter

I would like to make a edit to my review, first of all regarding food potions, the rice potion for £4 was tiny, you cannot pretend that it was a good potion for the price, Secondly the food was bland, a chicken “korai” as you mentioned, it was bland and sweet, that is my opinion. In addition when i called I was told all food is halal, I travelled very far to eat here to find only the chicken halal, this is misinformation, the waiter also spoke badly about his own colleague, when asked about the halal food, you mentioned the lady who was at front of house was from New Zealand so should “would not know anything?” dont you think that is quite rude. what do you think the waiter will do if i tell him this “korai” is sweet, will he cook for me again, imagine travelling over 200 miles for a holiday and the one halal place cannot accept any sort of critiscm, my review is not unfair, it is based on my real experience, In fact i ate at Gurkha a beautiful indian and nepalise restaurant in St Austell, which puts your restaurant to shame!

Gorgeous food at this Indian restaurant and very reasonable prices. Booking highly recommended. I highly recommend trying their onion bhajis and peshwari naan bread. Chargeable car park outside next to the river Camel.

Lovely Indian cuisine, a huge variety of dishes, large portions with excellent service!

Very expensive rice (reasonable portion size)and poppadums, especially if only 2 of you are eating the large bowl of mango chutney etc. One of the most expensive meals this holiday despite avoiding Chefs specials and extra side dishes. Meat dishes were good but not exceptional, although little competition in the area if you want an Indian menu. We also felt rushed despite plenty of empty tables- we only managed 1 round of drinks.
