Food good prity full with families

Visited this place during our holiday in Cornwall. The restaurant is situated right next to the picturesque Penzance harbour. Plenty of seating inside and outside. And there is a big parking area just across the road. We sat just right next to the window and the view was amazing. As a starter we ordered Humous and mixed olives which came with warm toasted artisan bread and dressed leaves. And as a main course we ordered Homemade beef lasagne and Battered Cornish fillet of fish & chips with peas. The food options were amazing and it all was incredibly well-presented as well as tasting delicious. The only thing that we were disappointed about that we had to wait 45 mins to get our order, as a tourist we already had plans to visit few places and loosing that much time wasn’t very helpful. Overall it was good experience but it could have been better.

Treat young staff with no respect and don’t fairly pay then or even pay them at all.

Had a squid special meal, only 5 pieces of squid though.

Lovely breakfast this weekend. Picture attached is of “The Big Bay” - was absolutely delicious. We were served by Jolie who was just lovely. Thank you. We’ll definitely be back.

Went here for Lunch on the first day off our holiday. Good parking outside ( Pay and display parking ) There was seating both inside and okay. Good views of the beach if you sit inside, however a wall of sitting outside. I have a vegetarian lasagna with garlic bread and salad. Food was good. There was a gluten-free carrot cake which was also nice. The toilets are down 2 sets of stairs. The service was good and the people were nice. 3 stars as the table beside us, and In front of us was filled with dirty plate. We were there for around an hour and a half but they weren’t cleaned away. It weren’t overly busy. But overall was a nice visit.

Lovely place the staff are cheerful and helpful very clean and tidy good views over the harbor you must go it's a bit expensive but worth it

Came here for breakfast with my friend, I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and he ordered the big bay breakfast, it wasn’t very busy in there, only 2 other tables. The waitress was lovely and the food was cooked to perfection, the wait was a little slow but when there’s one chef in the kitchen you absolutely have to expect that! Obviously the view was gorgeous, you can look right out at the sea, I would go back again as long as I’m not on a time crunch

Brilliant full English breakfast with great views

A beautiful place on the coast of England. There was lots of seating and a lovely view of the ocean. Staff was great. I had a tuna fish sandwich, which was delicious and creamy.

Popped in for a drink and a cream tea, Excellent cannot complain.

The food was delicious but the room was so cold it was uncomfortable.

Great location, staff friendly, the food is ok, could do with using quality local ingredients .

A brief visit at this restaurant makes it no surprise it holds many regulars. From its prime views while dining to its exquisite menu. Personally I ordered a serving of pancakes and cinnamon toasted teacake The service was friendly, polite and human. A trait lacking in some more expensive establishments by the year. The food feels like something pulled from home. Comfortable, filling and above all tasty. If you're looking for a fine place to drink it offers a modest selection of wines, gins, soft drinks and hot drinks. Whether looking for a nice outing, a spot for a seaside date or simply a pleasant dining experience I highly recommend this one as one of the best.

The place has an amazing view; however, the food is alright. We ordered their fish & chips, and I can see that the fish was there and just a tiny amount of breading/flour was used. But, the fish has no taste. They also have few staff so it will take a while to bring your bill. Lastly, the place needs to look presentable to other visitors or tourists. I didn’t understand the restaurant concept, but it was still an okay experience.

We been to Penzance lots of time, it's beyond me why we haven't gone in there before, we wonted a early lunch we had a appointment, We were there jest in time for a Breakfast, tidy &clean, lovely view ,we will go there again ✨👍

Food was so so… My (adult) main course of cod goujons had x3 measly pieces of cod… was more like a kids meal. Very stingy portions. Would not recommend

30/4/22 wow amazing food. Cooked to perfection and excellent quality. Not just saying this but this is the best breakfast I’ve ever had. I’m fussy and disappointed normally as you can’t beat home cooking. Well this was top restaurant quality and far better than home. Beautiful view on the bay and St Michaels mount. Shall be returning this evening to check out the delicious looking menu 😍

Me and my missus had delicious breakfast here , the food was fresh cooked by order and the coffee was much better than Costa.. we highly recommend this place… thanks team on the bay

I had the pleasure of eatinga light lunch at The Bay on the 2nd of February 2022. I discovered this gem only because I entered Wharfside shopping centre to have a look around. Not many open shops but it may change once the season starts. This spacious restaurant has a lot going for it. Apart from the stunning view, the place was clean and tidy and with very friendly and efficient staff. It seemed to be very popular with the locals. Maybe because the food is well cooked and reasonably priced. £9:15 for a pot of tea and a huge Tuna jacket potato complete with 2 pats of butter. I would have loved a pudding but I was too full!

Poor food and needs a good makeover

Really tasty food and drinks in a great location. Every time I've droped in, the staff have been wonderful and Everything ordered has arrived promptly. The view over the day is superb. Superb views across the bay, and possibly the best spot to watch the mizzle roll across the landscape.

Not a good experience at this restaurant yesterday. First time visiting Penzance yesterday and we unfortunately ate lunch here. The food was really poor quality, chips were from the oven and the crab salad was drenched in balsamic dressing. There was a problem with the mussels they hadn't been cleaned properly and a member of staff recommended that we don't eat them. When we complained to the manager they refused to accept any liability, she was rude and really unhelpful. Would not recommend this restaurant at all, it's not value for money and you're better off going elsewhere.

We had a breakfast here...full English..very tasty, the sausage especially, well presented & staff very friendly, a lovely view over the harbour too,

Giving 3 because - menu is pretty poor and offers very few choices, we was given the breakfast menu but then told we couldn't order from it. Ordered a sausage and red onion soft roll and it contained very little sausage. Cuppacino however was very nice, as was the views.

Great views of the bay. Friendly and efficient team. I ordered a crab soft roll and it was divine and a cream tea- yummy fresh warm scones. Extremely high quality food. I noticed downstairs on the street all the cafes were packed and this place had available seats. All you do is use the escalator up to the first floor from the street where it says shopping centre and once upstairs, turn back towards the sea and there it is.

The food was incredible, the time waiting for food or table service not so much. Restaurant wasn't busy but still ended up waiting for 45minutes.

This cafe arguably has some of the best views in Penzance (if you look past the car park). The decor inside however is just so unusual, lots of metal and chrome, what look are they actually going for here? Its just a lacking character. The staff are nice though and they offer a good range.

Slow service, and they weren't that busy. Clearly under staffed. Awful quality food and drinks for a very high price (too high!). Presentation of food was very bad. State of restaurant was not good, clearly renovating/ repairing areas but these should have been covered or properly blocked off rather than just roped off. Female waiters were nice, friendly, but won't return.

Speedy service with a smile... The young lady was ever so polite.. even commented my wife on her dress and perfume 😍... Great coffee and cinnamon teacake too x

Lovely clean and fab food brilliant staff highly RECOMMEND

Waited ages for our order to be taken and then for the order to arrive. Had to prompt the staff at least 4 times. Food arrived with no cutlery or napkins. Unfortunately we were not impressed.

We ordered fish and chips. The dish was even well presented, unfortunately the fish stank terribly..

Not the best lunch , ordered the crab cakes which were more like greasy potato cakes with a bit of salad . Expected better for the price they charged. More like greasy spoon standard.

Very nice coffee and cake, served by a lovely young lady who I believe was called Elle,with a very nice manner, and smile, then served to us in a nice polite manner. We always have coffee at the Bay when visiting Penzance.Well.done as usual.

Awful meal undercooked chips things missing from the meals and the worst burger ever. Completely over priced.
