The Railway Hotel Restaurant in New Forest

Went here for food and it did not disappoint. Food was fab.

The Railway is a fantastic place to stay. Stayed in the Pullman room, which was a comfortable spacious double room with large ensuite. Lovely bed and linen, toiletries, coffee machine and private access from the ample, secure car park and access onto the courtyard garden. Breakfast was perfect, really good ingredients and lovely coffee. The staff were all so friendly and helpful especially Charlie and nothing was too much trouble.

Another great meal at the railway and top notch service from the waiter believe called Toby, couldn’t fault him made sure we were well looked after, an asset to the team! Unfortunately not good value for money and landlord and lady were not very friendly

Had a lovely overnight stay here, whilst working away from home. Beautifully presented and themed. Food was outstanding and the staff extremely pleasant. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautifully done hotel. All the little details around railway station and trains are well thought out and brilliantly executed for everyone to appreciate whether you're into trains or not. The room was lovely, with a rain shower wet room and nicely done. Restaurant was like a train carriage and food was very reasonably priced for evening meal and breakfast was included with room, all delicious. With only 5 rooms in the hotel, you get a great service, all staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. It's only a 18 minute walk into Fordingbridge town centre and great base for exploring this part of the new forest. We will definitely be staying again.

The family have just enjoyed a lovely meal at the Railway Hotel in Fordingbridge. What a very cool, themed hotel, delicious meal and very friendly service. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back. Very impressed.

Fantastic Boxing Day brunch. Under new management this place is well worth a visit. Great service and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended

Just had lunch from the Christmas menu which was very nice. Lovely presentation and the staff were really engaging and pleasant. Good value as well. Pleasant well kept surroundings and will be going again.

A lovely restaurant. Fantastic food and efficient, friendly service. We would really recommend it. The catch of the day was delicious and we managed to fit in a Tarte Tartin which was delicious. Brilliant decor with a fun railway theme.

Lovely hotel. The room we stayed in (Orient Express) was really comfortable with a great bathroom with a roll top bath. The food was delicious and great value for money. Last but not least, the staff. They are an absolute credit to the hotel, really friendly, and made sure we were well looked after. Thank you !!!

Lovely place , we stayed in the Orient Express room was excellent and then a lovely meal in the Pullman dinning car , and enjoyed it so much we have booked aging for this weekend

Nice hotel with generally nice rooms and very clean bathrooms. However bedroom floors seemed to be a little untidy and when rooms were cleaned, beds not done and floors remained the same. Great spacious free parking outside.

Hands down the best Sunday Roast around! Service is alway professional and friendly. Credit to the chefs for their superb food.

The Railway Hotel was one of the best we have stayed in for a while, the room passed all expectations with all the little touches. The staff are very friendly and always accomodating to our questions and needs ( very helpful). The food was amazing first class presentation and taste. Will be coming back for sure. Please don't give this place a miss.

We went to the hotel for their Hungarian night. We were presented with 7 taster courses accompanied by wine. The food was delicious and the wine was amazing and very well paired. For a very reasonable price. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The room we stayed in was the Bournemouth Belle. It was spotless and really comfortable. We had breakfast the following day which was superb. We will be back!

It is a quirky little hotel 20 minutes outside Salisbury. The staff is fantastic and very welcoming. They have managed to get a lot of train details in without being too much. The rooms are great, functional and cosy. Breakfast is made a la minute and is great. Overall a lovely experience and we highly recommend it.

We are a fun running club, choosing the hotel as a base for the evening's get together. The Pullman dining room is like a railway carriage, whilst the courtyard feels like a station platform - all very very pretty. The food was excellent, & the staff couldn't have been more attentive.

We had the privilege to attend a 30th Wedding Anniversary party yesterday. I must express my gratitude and appreciation to the Manager (Manwell) and his staff for their exceptional hard work and attention to detail. They worked really hard to look after all their guests and were very attentive to everyones needs. The chefs and kitchen staff need to be complimented for the exceptional canapés which were served in the afternoon and for the super evening meal which was of Michelin quality in taste and presentation. Thank you for making the day very special

Best place ever the service was AMAZING everything was good

Stopped in for breakfast. The expression on our server’s face suggested they had been slapped with my kipper prior to it being cooked. Drinks were cold, service took too long, parts of the meal were missing. Server seemed annoyed when we pointed this out. Despite all this nothing was taken off the bill. Only go here if you want to pay to feel like you are an inconvenience.

Amazing stay in the themed inn. We stayed here as a base for our walks in New Forrest. 5 stars for the staff and management.

We highly recommend The Railway pub/restaurant, with fun decor set out as an old fashioned train carriage. This is not typical pub food, it’s high quality restaurant food - it was delicious, with generous portions. These people obviously care about the food that they produce. Manuel and his team gave excellent service to ensure that their customers had a great experience. We will definitely return.

Popped in for a quick drink. Very bright and clean but lacked atmosphere. Range of beers a bit limited.

Our room was beautiful had a roll top bath & beautiful decorated the only thing missing in the bedroom was a mirror to do your hair.The staff were amazing nothing was to much trouble would definitely go there again

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Myself and family were completely looked after from booking to leaving. Five of us booked for dinner. From the moment of entering we were welcomed and shown to our table by a charming lady/staff member called Julia who was so calm, friendly and approachable. Julie was so attentive and knowledgeable re our requests and questions about the menu, meal ingredients and general knowledge of the establishment and area. She also accommodated a very young member of our group, taking time to listen to him and at one point played along in encouraging him to eat. We will definitely be returning as the food was cooked and presented perfectly. The ingredients were fresh and tasted amazing at a reasonable price. But mostly due to the way we were made to feel and cared for throughout the meal by Julia.
