Called in today for a Sunday lunch.. wow it was so poor . Roast beef was thin and rubbery not nice at all however the lady at the entrance was extremely professional and her service was perfect.i will definitely not be going back for food

Spur of the moment tea out with a friend, extremely busy place so I'd recommend booking to avoid disappointment. We were happy to get a drink and wait, took around 30 minutes to get a table. Worth the wait, great pub food and service. Would recommend to friends and family

The food was delicious. I had chilli with rice and chips and a dessert. It was busy for a Monday evening. I would suggest booking if you plan to visit. £27 for main, dessert, and tip.

There idea of side salad is lettuce and grated carrot bread was very doughy, over priced frozen food reheated. Will not be going back.

Lovely pub with nice beer. The food is terrific but you must book your table, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Good parking and easy access from the A650 and the M62.

Friday - early doors: 5-00. Six of us. Excellent service ✔️ and spot-on food. Two of us had the fish and chips: Generous portions and absolutely perfect ! Other four: All different orders, and again spot-on. Everybody happy. Well done to all the team. 👏👏 👏👏

Amazing food and great service. Not many places do homecooked food this good. The seafood pie and prawn Marie rose salad was really good. Scotch egg is exquisite...best I've ever had.

Went in for the first time yesterday, on recommendation. Absolutely superb 👌. Nice freshly cooked food. And was absolutely fantastic. Proper home cooked chips. The staff were friendly enough. And the price was more than fair. Definitely recommend.

Came here for a family dinner. The staff were very welcoming and attentive even though the place was packed out so booking a table is highly recommend. The food is excellent and despite how busy it was we didn't have yo wait very long either.

If I could give 6 stars for the service, I would. The waiting staff are superb. Their personalities shine through and show that they have been carefully chosen because of their perfect customer skills. 👌 I wish more places would recruit for the right behaviours needed for the role. This is what Disney does, and that is why they create great customer experiences and are so successful. Love this place!

Food was good and service was very professional 👌. The size and quantity of the chicken gougons used in the starter were a welcome and surprising sight. It was also nice that the staff were willing to make small adjustments to the menu for dietary requirements, pie and chips went down well but didn't have room to finish 😐

The lamb pudding I had was great (recommended, I have had this previously before) however my partner had a Sunday roast and the roast potatoes etc tasted rewarmed (the same as last time we came) and for that price more is expected I'm sorry. We came later on the day but this is no excuse. The reason for the low stars is because the service was poor. We had to ask if we could order drinks and food because it took that long and people just kept on walking past us as if we were invisible. We never got asked if the food was okay and we never got asked if we even wanted a desert (even though me and my partner wanted one). In the end we sat there for half an hour finishing our drinks with our finished plates still at our table and decided to just forget it and ask for the bill. We saw other tables doing the same tbh so it wasn't just us. Lots of young staff so we didn't take it personally especially if they are still learning but the blame goes to whoever is running the place. Shame but for the money I think better there are better Sunday roasts etc available in the area.

We called in on the spur of the moment. And very glad we did. Extremely good food. And quite a varied choice too. Extremely pleasant staff. Especially since they are all very young and at varied levels of experience. Definitely to be recommended. And we absolutely will be making further visits

Went in for lunch on the off chance whilst working in the area. Had the giant Yorkshire pudding and beef (on the waitress’s recommendation) and a pint of Black Sheep, both really good!!

Been coming here years ,the food is nice and usually a good portion .recently though I have noticed the prices are higher but the portion size has gone down.it's still a nice pub with nice food but if it goes up anymore or the sizes go down I probably would go elsewhere

Great place food excellent asked waitress about something on menue didn't know if I could eat it all chef came out and showed me what it was I ordered it lamb pudding cooked to perfection. I thought the place had good atmosphere and the waitress I give her 20 out of 10 plus gold star.it was quiet busy at 6 00pm thru week would advise booking .Parking good but not a large car park .The bill was amazing I thought it was going to be a lot more will DEFINITELY be going again.

A change to go mid week as opposed to a Sunday, efficient and amiable staff as usual, good portions of starters and mains (no room for pud!).

Roast beef dinner was very good, service was friendly and quick and the place was nicely busy with a great atmosphere. The two course Sunday roast is good value, the apple and berry crumble with custard was fantastic. Will definitely be back again.

Food was good, I had the railway burger. It was a pretty standard pub burger, ticked all the boxes.

Called in by chance today for lunch have to say it didn't disappoint the food was fabulous, I tried the fish pie with veg it was very filling, my husband had the steak baguette with mozzarella. The staff very friendly. If I didn't live so far away I would visit it very frequently.

Still love popping in here on my walks or cycle rides on Sunday's. Not been for a few weeks but they still remembered my drink which was nice. Packed on Sunday's for food so advise you book to reserve a table.

Had to wait an hour before anyone came to you. The food wasn't that good I got a under cooked pie. The dough under the crust wasn't cooked. The chips looked as though they had been cut up to make it look more on your plate.

The food here is always, always amazing. The services tends to be a little slow especially if you are tucked away by the back door. But cannot fault the food.

Best meal out for a long time. Traditional Roast Dinner so tasty. Loads of meat nothing too much trouble. Lovely to see as well younger members of staff being encouraged to do their role by a lovely chap with a beard. ( sorry didn't get him name a true leader) will defo be back

Lucky for me only round the corner from where I live. Had a jacket potato with chilli and cheese. My friend had chicken burger with onion rings and chips. Both meals great.

Called in for Sunday lunch, food and hand pulled ale was spot on and our waitress Caitlin couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

Great little place. Food is excellent and made even better still when accompanied by an ice cold crafted beer. Nice little seating area outside although you do get the traffic noise from the by pass. Defiantly worth a visit

Everytime I go here they deliver a quality meal that can't be complained about. Two cealiacs, a vegetarian, a fussy OAP, and two normal people ;) lol, all left very happy with the food and the service that is delivered time and time again.

Been here second time and ordered southern fried chicken burger, the ciabatta was torn so couldn’t eat the burger the way you normally would and the chicken was very tough so not impressed plus when I tried to complain the waiter was debating with me and asking why I had eaten it all and then complained, but I hadn’t eaten it, I had left all the bread and some of the chicken so I wasn’t impressed

Dropped in for a last minute booking, pub pretty busy as a sunny day, but was able to get a table. Menu better than the run of the mill usual pub ones. Both had Barnsley lamb chop, which was tender and tasty. Reasonable prices

We had my partners 70th birthday on the 12th August we had a great time food was excellent all came out on time together. Staff were brilliant would recommend it to family and friends we go regularly and food is always very good and value for money. Thank you to all staff x.
