Ordered a ceasar salad & what a disappointment.. £14 for a plateful of lettuce splashed with minimal caesar sauce with a bare chicken breast ..Only .. No sign of any croutons, parmesan bacon or anchovies .. Complained and it was removed & returned with a handful of croutons. .. Not impressed Everyone else had lovely food just give the Caesar Salad a Miss

Lunch time not too busy but recommend booking after 5.00 pm

Main course was not hot i mentioned this to the waiter but no apologies ....nothing

Amazing food customer service accommodating to all needs also accompanied to needs and always check allergy and intolerance information whilst your ordering food

The food was good value and nice, the staff were attentive and friendly. Really enjoyed the Jam Roly Poly with custard and the coffee was good

First time in years I've been here. Service was excellent, staff so friendly and kept checking on us. Food was great. Had the pie, was absolutely stuff. Wish I had space for pudding. Will be going back again.

Cosy, pleasant place to stop off for a drink on your way home. Only negative, the bar person didn’t use the wine measure correctly. Weights and measures wouldn’t be happy.

I love the food here it is amazing. I would highly recommend the railway. It is a lovely pub the staff are friendly and approachable. Can not fault this place. If you haven't been. You need to go. You will not be disappointed.

Food amazing, we went without booking and had seats right in front of the fire 🔥 The gammon was delicious and such a big plateful. A proper gammon steak, ( not a processed plastic one!!) . I had the lamb suet pudding with veg & mash, was delicious 😋 We shared a pudding as a birthday treat and the treacle sponge was also delicious and served with custard. Will definitely go again 10/10 xxx 😊

Truly magnificent food in a lovely place. My wife and I had a Sunday roast beef and a different dessert each on a trip to sample what it was like and booked my wife's birthday celebration dinner for about 16 people before we left. The roast beef was beautiful and tender, roast, mashed potato, broccoli, carrots,cabbage, yorkshire pudding, small sausage sauce boat of extra gravy. Watched other plates going out, the giant yorkshire pudding was a plate filling monster. Has off road carpark to rear of building, entry doors to 3 sides. Accessible toilet via small ramp.

Food is lovely as always but over priced £150 for 4 people and we didn't have anything special like mixed grill or rump steak ,starters and sweets have gone up we expect due to the economy .....good but expensive pub grub I hope the staff get all the tips we left they go above and beyond nothing is too much bother super pleased with them don't spoil a good pub by over pricing

10/10 we will be back again. We came on a Sunday for a burger and a salad, the staff accommodated to my dietary requirements and service was brilliant. We had a to wait a while to get seating since we didn’t book but absolutely worth it. This place is a real gem - thank you

Huge portions, quality food, great place.

Really nice, cosy pub, especially at Christmas, very festive. Delicious food, good menu, plenty to choose from and reasonably priced. We had the giant Yorkshire pudding with beef, mash ( soo smooth and buttery) veg and a small Sunday chicken roast dinner with all the trimmings. So tasty. Highly recommended.

Brilliant home made food, served by friendly and efficient staff. Often busy so can be a bit noisy at times (hardly surprising it's popular though). A real 'find'.

I had the Sunday roast (pork) Meat wasn't great. Mashed potato was very glutanous. Good Yorkshire puds tho.

Another lovely meal at the Railway. Great selection of beers and a really good choice of food. Excellent staff provide the icing on the cake. Will definitely be going back.

There was only 1 person that made us feel welcome and her service was great she had black hair and tattoos. The drinks were good the starters were ok good portions but don’t have the lamb suet pudding was so dry all though we complained we were wrong they were right was told by 1 staff it would come off the bill when I queried the bill again they were right we were wrong had to pay full amount so was very disappointed as I shared my meal with my partner didn’t want a dessert but got 1 as was still hungry after not having a full dinner would not go back and would not recommend do to Attitude when we mentioned things

Lovely place, had a jacket potato

It was mid week so didn't book & when we arrived there were a few tables free so no problem. We were given a menu each & was asked what drinks we would like. These came straight away. We then waited about 25mins for them to come back to take the food order. A party of 4 came and sat at the table beside us, about 15mins after we arrived, there order was taken straight after we had ordered. The party of 4 received there food before us, I was very disappointed by this time as surely we shud have had our meal before them (we were a party of 2). I was recommended to come here... food was gorgeous cannot fault that but I'm afraid the service let them down.....

Called in today for a Sunday lunch.. wow it was so poor . Roast beef was thin and rubbery not nice at all however the lady at the entrance was extremely professional and her service was perfect.i will definitely not be going back for food

Spur of the moment tea out with a friend, extremely busy place so I'd recommend booking to avoid disappointment. We were happy to get a drink and wait, took around 30 minutes to get a table. Worth the wait, great pub food and service. Would recommend to friends and family

The food was delicious. I had chilli with rice and chips and a dessert. It was busy for a Monday evening. I would suggest booking if you plan to visit. £27 for main, dessert, and tip.

There idea of side salad is lettuce and grated carrot bread was very doughy, over priced frozen food reheated. Will not be going back.

Lovely pub with nice beer. The food is terrific but you must book your table, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Good parking and easy access from the A650 and the M62.

Friday - early doors: 5-00. Six of us. Excellent service ✔️ and spot-on food. Two of us had the fish and chips: Generous portions and absolutely perfect ! Other four: All different orders, and again spot-on. Everybody happy. Well done to all the team. 👏👏 👏👏

Amazing food and great service. Not many places do homecooked food this good. The seafood pie and prawn Marie rose salad was really good. Scotch egg is exquisite...best I've ever had.

Went in for the first time yesterday, on recommendation. Absolutely superb 👌. Nice freshly cooked food. And was absolutely fantastic. Proper home cooked chips. The staff were friendly enough. And the price was more than fair. Definitely recommend.

Came here for a family dinner. The staff were very welcoming and attentive even though the place was packed out so booking a table is highly recommend. The food is excellent and despite how busy it was we didn't have yo wait very long either.

A good all rounder for Sunday lunch. I got the chicken roast dinner. From food, service to atmosphere...its all great. Its definitely a family favourite.

A hidden gem, absolutely amazing

If I could give 6 stars for the service, I would. The waiting staff are superb. Their personalities shine through and show that they have been carefully chosen because of their perfect customer skills. 👌 I wish more places would recruit for the right behaviours needed for the role. This is what Disney does, and that is why they create great customer experiences and are so successful. Love this place!
