Popped in for the first time on a lunch break. Very friendly and helpful staff, a nice vibe, and the food was fantastic. Definitely will visit again!

Standing at the bar for ages, everyone around me was being served, but me 😔 ended up walking out!

Wasn't sure about this pub from the photos, but it's lovely and bright in person. Family brewery owned pub with plenty of traditional cask ales on tap. The bar men was super chilled too.

Quiet but a lovely little pub, really smart.

Went for drinks only been here twice, good experience both times, DJ played music around 6pm.

Very expensive. Staff lovely. There were 2 other customers so very quiet. Nice to be able to sit outside.

Dana was exceptional with her customer service skills, always friendly and service with a smile every time. We organised a leaving due here and she mentioned that she stayed after her shift to make sure we were looked after.

Frequent The Queens Head, Dana and Staff have made such a difference. Ranging from quiz nights to games nights, the food, the variety of beverages is refreshing to see after a long time!

Our Nephew Was Sick In The Hospital Across The In The Children’s Hospital. Dana Was Most Obliging And Was Very Helpful And Supporting In This Pub. Highly Recommended Staff So Kind And Welcoming 🙏

I’ve been frequenting this pub for a few months now, always welcomed. Fantastic bar staff, Dana, Fi, Sy and Shelby are always smiling and on hand to help with any queries. The beer selection is fantastic and the atmosphere is always fun and welcoming. There’s a new assistant manager here today, and he did give me the wrong glass for the beer, not keeping with the high standards Dana has set, but I’m sure as he settles in he will pick up the right way of doing things, it is his first day after all! Couldn’t speak more highly of Dana and her staff, they have really built this pub up since the dark days of the previous manager.

Brilliant staff, constantly happy, and very helpful wheneverneeded. Great craic with the quizzes and karaoke, good all round atmosphere and the foods decent to. YOU MUST TRY THEIR GRAVY!!

I often come to this establishment and must compliment the bar manager Dana. This individual consistently provides excellent service and always gives a warm welcome to all who enter the pub. Her ability to handle busy moments is second to none and does so keeping her delightful, bubbly energy. The food is excellently cooked and would say the portion size is fantastic and well worth the money. The atmosphere was calm Plenty of space and is dog and child friendly. Overall I would say if you are in the area then it is well worth coming in.

Brilliant atmosphere and amazing staff, especially the GM Dana who has been very attentive! Spend most Fridays or the occasional lunch there and wouldn't want to go anywhere else! Davenports definitely need to get a good replacement for that horrible Jager Lager...what were they thinking !!!

Great place for a drink and bite to eat. Feel of a local but in the city centre! Great atmosphere. Dana and the team are superb!

What a nightmare. The service has to be the worst in the city. Bar staff gassing outside and one bloke behind the bar with delusions of competence. Oh and the prices.......

If your looking for a new local wIth old style classic pub vibes with amazing staff, this is the place for you. The only downfall is they don't have Jubel on tap other then that 10/10

Very friendly pub. Very local to the city centre. All staff are ver friendly and very welcoming. Couldn’t fault the pub at all, very traditional. Very different from every pub in the city centre, which would make me visit the pub multiple times. Couldn’t recommend this establishment enough. The manger is very friendly, and makes sure that she takes your order in timely manner and has a smile on her face everytime. The atmosphere is amazing. The new manger has done wonders to this pub, with the pub quiz on Tuesday nights and Karaoke on Friday nights bringing in many people in the surrounding area. I really couldn’t fault this place, especially if you’re looking for a traditional friendly pub.

I’ve been a regular at the queens for a while now and the atmosphere now is completely different to how it was before. Cannot fault the team and the food. We have such a laugh and my pint is always pulled before I walk in. The team now seem so happy. Need to get Jubel in this pub though, was speaking with the new manager and she agrees, it’s the best lager for the summer and only two places in Birmingham sell it on tap. If it was there I wouldn’t move on at the end of the night.

Bang in the middle of the city, food looked good, ales were great and service very friendly, am going to return for a bite to eat next time.

What have you done with the menu? All our favourite things have gone - especially off the sandwich menu. Really disappointed. I'm not sure the new menu fits with the type of pub too. Should be a traditional boozer with traditional food items.

Had hunters chicken off reduced menu. I think it escaped, probably hiding behind one of the lukewarm chips. Would have told one of staff if they'd bothered to ask. Very disappointing.

Working at Colmore building for week. 1st time in Birmingham and thankfully found this Gem of a pub. The decor is very nice, clean and traditional. The staff are so friendly and have made me feel very welcome all week. The food is delicious and I'm happily working my way through the menu, although I might be stuck on the steak! This place has made my 1st visit to Brum a treat!

Great place with a large selection of drinks and a great menu. I've not tried the food yet, but the dishes I have seen look nice. Friendly staff and great service.

Service was slow, food was expensive and poor, two of our party paid for food and didn't receive it, they also ran out of pretty much everything we ordered. £20 for the dish pictured.

Staff were friendly, with a good atmosphere. However, our food (2 steaks and some mac & cheese took over 40 minutes to arrive and was very bland which was disappointing, especially as there were only 2 tables eating at the time.

Had a leaving do there when I retired. Super place, we had the upstairs room, booked for 10 with others popping in and out. Great food, worth a visit.

Had a lovely time when we popped in last week. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the pub is beautiful. My daughter loved the croissant. We will definitely be returning again to try the food.

Fabulous pub. Really clean, good beer, great service and the Christmas decorations are outstanding.

Staff were really nice, the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare juicy and tender. Lovely looking pub, not been in there since it was the Jekyll and Hyde. It's been refurbished really well. Haven't been home to Brum for 6 months, so it was a very pleasant treat going in there. The Davenports bitter was just right, unfortunately just my luck I go there when all they had on cask was the bitter. Would have been nice to sample the others, but hopefully I will when I next get back to Brum. Highly recommend!!

A wonderfully clean and well manged pub. Really nice staff, spotlessly clean and the toilets are amazing. We'll worth a visit. Great for Christmas Dinner too.

Used the upstairs room at this place for my leaving bash - absolutely superb. The Boss Wayne is a top fella, very accommodating along with his staff. The room and smoking area along with everything else were perfect. If you are thinking of having a small event 30-50 people, trust me, look at this place first. Thank You!

Really poor bar staff quite ignorant. Tried to serve me Guinness in a stemmed glass when I politely pointed out this was wrong . They shrugged and weren’t really bothered please train your bar staff properly and get them to wash the glasses

Over heard management talking about how their staff are all disposable quite saddening really as I think they’re lovely. Well mannered and great chat . Food is alrite but the prices have gotten way to high music used to be louder to all just seems a bit dimmer recently atmosphere wise . Shame really used to love it there

Lovely place to have a drink and relax.

This place is brilliant, with good food, good range of drinks and a sublime atmosphere. The beef lasagna i tried here is supreme! It comes with the cheesiest most delicious garlic bread I have had in along time.

Wanted to order one of the Davenport ales only to be told they weren't on. By then I'd already ordered my girlfriend a cider that was being poured so couldn't leave. When I said they should turn the clips around if they don't have the beer in stock was told the manager wanted them faced forward despite them not being on. Would have just left if I knew they weren't on right away and by the time I knew I had to buy anyway. Very deceptive and definitely doesn't make me want to return which is a shame as the place looks very nice.

What a lovely Pub to visit,very friendly staff food was excellent.Nice to see an old pub still going.We will be visiting again soon.

They advertise cask ales and do not have any available, they need to take down, off the website cask ales. Very disappointing because it's a lovely bar.

Friendly, welcoming and tiny/cosy pub

Popped in for a drink, tried the mild, but I thought it was a bit off. They exchanged it for a different drink with no problems. They then changed the barrel. (It happens). Staff very friendly. Didn't have food and not many customers so don't know really, so opted for the 4 stars.

Wonderful me and my dad who is 86 have wonderful lunches and drinks here often , staff always welcome him and he loves the davenport memories it really mskes his week thankyou , Linda x

Went with colleagues from work. Booked a table which was ready on arrival. Did not wait long for food which was very tasty and so fresh. Will definitely return

A group of us attended on Sunday and had booked a table for food. The table we were seated at was very high with very low stools, which made eating interesting. One of our party was given a rolled up blanket to sit on to boost them up a bit, but it wasnt the best experience. That said the Sunday lunches were delicious but not very hot and the parsnips were a little bit undercooked so were very hard, if now raw, in the middle. The cocktails were good and reasonably priced.

Sunday lunch on 12th March was a delightful surprise to us as we'd decided at the last minute to try this newly made-over pub. The roast beef and roast chicken was of the highest quality. The chicken was plentiful, juicy but with the crispest of skins. All roasts are served with Yorkshire puddings and sage and onion stuffing, along with a generous portion of roasted potatoes, carrots, parsnips, red cabbage and green beans. It has to be said that this pub has two further things to recommend it: it is wholly wheelchair-accessible and has superb bathroom facilities (with - and this is very unusual - the emergency cord reaching the floor). This has to be the cleanest pub we've ever visited! It is absolutely spotless. As we arrived bang on 12 noon, we saw the cleaner leaving, and congratulated her on her efforts, which we appreciated. The plastic greenery and lemons are slightly OTT, but didn't detract from our enjoyment of lunch. We are sure to pay a visit sometime soon to sample a brunch, but we will be back even sooner for the amazing Sunday roast! We can't find the Queen's Head on Tripadvisor; we'd have been happy to leave a review on this platform if it had been available.

Loved this pub as the Jekyll and Hyde and we're disappointed when it closed. However after a makeover it's reopened as The Queens Head and a very nice job they've made of it. Seems to be more spacious and the courtyard is now covered. Well worth a visit.

Food took 28 minutes to arrive, beer took 2-3 minutes to pour, but when they taste like this, I’m not complaining. Don’t generally give reviews but this is a refounding of an historic brewery, give ‘em a chance. Ps bar staff were bang on.👊🏻

Excellent beer and good atmosphere

Last visited this pub, in 98 to watch an England World Cup match, so what a transformation was found, been re furbished to an excellent standard, but unfortunately, a couple of the drinks we ordered were below par, either flat, or had quiet a tarty taste to em, even the guiness wasn't up to much, did report to the bar staff, but was told that's how they spossed to taste, but after all its a davenports house, so make up your own mind, n make a selection from the mainstream options on offer, would defo give it another chance though, 🤔🤔

Had our Christmas meal here, could not fault anything. Great atmosphere, food was lovely ( christmas menu) , service from Wayne was excellent , nothing too much trouble , made us feel really welcome, good selection of drinks , had a really enjoyable evening and will definitely return .

We found this place by accident after visit to West Midlands police museum nearby. Wow what a find!!! Lovely inside. Sunday roast was out of this world. Lovely barstaff with very knowledgeable barman. Will definitely come again

We had the upstairs booked for a private Christmas party. Overall it was good but they closed an hour earlier than we were told at the time of booking. Staff were friendly and helpful apart from repeatedly turning our music down without talking to us about it.

Knocked back. A proper gin palace in Snow Hill area (sort of). Davenports pub so their real ales on, very good. Lovely decor respecting Davenport Brewery history, at time of writing they even have a circa late 1960's(?) brewery promotional film on loop on their tv as you walk in.

Stunning refurb. Lovely, quieter pub just off the beaten track which is perfect if the centre of town is looking like Las Vegas on a Saturday.

Was passing by on the way to the bullring never seen this place before or heard of it.. but my god a hidden gem it looked quite busy staff were attentive, drinks good range, food not to pretentious honest pub grub very tasty.

Have been a consistent regular since the opening due to the great food and drinks at reasonably pricing, the atmosphere and customer service. I would especially like to single out the service from Alanna and Danielle. They have made me feel welcomed and I find myself coming back for not only the general feeling of the pub but also the charm and attitude towards the workplace. It goes unnoticed but the abilty to reccomend the exact drink you wish for is a dying art in bartending whilst keeping other customers with quick yet precise satisfaction. I would strongly recommend the Queens Head should you be fond of live music, various alcoholic beverages, multicultural dishes and generally great atmosphere that encourages you to come back again. It goes without saying that I would recommend individuals and groups to at least visit this establishment.

They have done a great job with the refurb and food is amazing. Steak Sandwich with fries was delicious.
