The Queen of Iceni - JD Wetherspoon in Norwich

Was a good experience the parsooln clearing the table before us was friendly and helpful, but my son has trouble walking and no way could get upstairs to toilet. Would be nice to have a disabled toilet downstairs.

Large wetherspoons a fairly short walk from the station, with loads of inside and out and also upstairs. Would definitely make it my first port of call next time I'm in Norwich.

Classic Witherspoon's but not one of the better ones. Portion sizes for adults deli menu were tiny. We didn't order from the smaller delivery menu but seemed as though that's what we were served. The new chicken shawarma wrap is great though just not sure why that and the chips served were so small. Can't fault the quality of it for what you pay. Service was prompt and managed to get someone to clean the table we chose to sit at. Condiments you help yourself to so plenty there and great options too. Was fairly busy when we went in but still plenty of tables free. Not the best not the worst wether spoons but the other two in Norwich centre are normally alot better in my opinion.

Typical city Wetherspoons with the usual offer. Very busy on Norwich match days - home fans only. Tables are a bit cramped but there are plenty plus an outside terrace. If placing orders via the Wetherspoons app, they are filled quickly even when the pub is busy.

Good large pub for a cheap drink and food. Good atmosphere can get very busy. Toilets are a long way away if you are sitting down stair. Overall not a bad Wetherspoons.

Busy for time of day plenty of bar staff only 3 or 4 infront. Using the app is bit mind boggling at first.

Birthday lunch for ten, drinks delivery to the table was quick, and the food came soon after, all pretty much at the same time, excellent staff good food no complaints from anyone

Pretty good really especially during the day. At night it sometimes gets full of youngsters looking to get gallons of alcohol down their necks in the fastest time possible! All in all, not a bad pub. Very good for families during day.

Great app and easy to order food and drinks

Overall restaurant looks tidy and is spacious, food was quick however was not good quality. Food was cold and at a poor standard. We ordered the pizza which was more like stale flatbread with last night's pasta sauce put on top with a very light sprinkle of cheese, this was for all 3 pizzas ordered. The cheesy chips again had barely any cheese on them which is massively disappointing if you're a cheese fan like myself and also annoying when youve paid extra for it too the other little platters we ordered were also cold and felt as if they had been sitting on the side for a while. Staff seem friendly and service was good despite it being busy at that particular time. Reccomend for a pint but not for food

Me and my friend were having coffee there and as according to their website states you are allowed unlimited coffee or tea refills from their coffee machine. So we were enjoying this offer and upon refilling our 4th cup, a male staff standing nearby had the cheek to make a remake "oh this is now your 5th cup" . Actually it was 4th! So I said "isn't it allowed?" to which he didn't have much to say! How petty to count how many cups someone is having and no need to say what he said! IF IT SAYS ON THE WEBSITE YOU CAN HAVE UNLIMITED REFILLS, THEN YOU CAN! Besides that, outside area very dirty, as always! But what can you expect from Wetherspoons! Probably won't return.

Just popped in for breakfast as passing with the wife. Coke was semi flat and brought out a long time before the breakfast arrived, so I had to get another drink before breakfast finally did arrive. Ordered some honey bacon as an extra, which was well over baked and grim. The rest was barely warm, and i do mean b arely warm while the beans were stone cold. The only hot thing on the plate was the hash browns, which were hot 🔥 I'm very disappointed. Will not be visiting this Wetherspoons again. Shame

Nice and reasonably priced pub. Food is okay, the steak was cooked the way it was requested. Great deal for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The place is huge so it's easy to find a table. Ordering is easy as u don't have to wait for the staff to come to you. Either order at the bar or scan the QR code on the menu. Condiments are available in one corner so you can help yourself with anything you want, ketchup, mayo, tartare, salt, etc...

Busy, popular place. Good selection of beer and food. Great place to meet up.

Sip your beer in the garden and in a pleasant environment. Generally busy and crowded but enjoyable. This must be one of the popular places in Norwich. If you come to Norwich by train, you can relieve the tiredness of your journey or your hunger by walking 100 meters as soon as you get off the station.

Great spoons, food was really good, service was quick and the staff were friendly. It’s a great location for a quick stop off, plenty of seats and a nice view of the river.

Great afternoon spent in front of river

I went to weather spoons late this evening and I was sitting outside and already ordered food and drink and a member of staff refused me and my mum we had to leave as we had a 12 week puppy with us we are sitting outside. My 12 week puppy was sitting not causing any noise or problems. One of the staff members came and spoke to us in an aggressive manner and told us we had to leave straight away. I said I’ve already order and paid for my food and drink but he demanded we left straight away. I will never recommend anyone to go there as the way we was treated very unfairly. (My 12 week is a cockapoo) litter was all on the floor not been swept up tables had not been cleared very disgusting. The sign was not cleaner or bigger enough. But I’m currently training him as a support dog And the sign said as I was shown by the member of staff support dogs only. I can’t see what the problem is.

Very poor, sat outside tables dirty full of litter, dirty plates on table... The floor area around tables outside was full of litter . Definitely would not recommend it. Outside all the other restaurants' cinema bowling area on riverside where lovely and litter free . Wetherspoon riverside, you need to clean up your restaurant. We all decided not to stop and eat or have any drinks..

I visited with my family as a quick and easy dinner before heading out afterwards. I was told the wait for food was about 30 mins - which I thought was fine and easy to amuse my 5 and 7 year old for this time. 45 mins later I chased up the food to be told it was next to come out. After an HOUR, upon chasing AGAIN i was told they didn’t have my order (despite having a confirmation via the app) and it was ‘lost but we don’t know why’. I was told it had been refunded via the tills (after they then found the order on the system). I’ve sent five emails chasing my refund and it’s still not been received. Visiting here wasn’t quick, wasn’t easy and cost me over £20 for the pleasure :(

Classic spoons, lovely seating by the canal

Nice place being a chain pub/restaurant. Low lighting in evening made it difficult to read menu. Feeling a draft, near staircase, made it a little uncomfortable for me though seating was adequate. Food service was quick & easy (on app) in delivery & clearing. Foods were nice too, simple meal but filling! Thx

Service was seriously poor,no customer service.Very upset with this place.I love my wetherspoons but this has seriously put me OFF !!

After going to the nike store we fancied some thing for lunch and decided to come here, we found a table and ordered our food,a pizza and 3 chicken wraps. Our drinks arrived quickly by a friendly waitress who had a smile and greeted us with a friendly manner followed by our food which was absolutely lovely, hot and delicious. Sadly I can't remember the waitresses name but her service was top notch.

Lovely location and a very helpful bar maid who helped me charge my phone as my battery was flat and we had our train tickets on the phone

I went with a group of my friends to celebrate a friends birthday and we have a feeling the staff refused us service and refunded our drinks as they didn’t want to keep serving us when they were busy. I can tell the place is severely understaffed as we waited 25 minutes for drinks but most of us had 2 drinks and a shot each and we got told we were being refused service due to a complaint from down stairs (this most likely being the bar staff) believing we had to much to drink when 9/10 of us in our group weren’t even on the borderline of tipsy and we were only there for about an hour and a half. So we just believe that as we were ordering so much (as we were a large table) that we were just being refused service. Not a great look and disappointing as it actually has some great menu items you can’t get at any other spoons in the county.

Lovely venue, but the main thing that lets it down is the amount of drinks served in filthy glasses. End up drinking from the bottle because I keep getting served dirty glasses.

Perfect summer evening drunk outside. The peking chicken in wok dish should stay permanent. Top atmosphere no trouble. Shame we don't have longer summers as outside was fantastic 👌

Wiltshire Ham egg and chips are a treat, starts getting busy around 12.30pm but plenty of seating if you don't mind stairs

Modern but rather grubby Wetherspoons. Food not up to the standards of old either. Says it all that on a pleasant Saturday lunchtime the place was only half full. Are Wetherspoons in so much trouble that they cannot give their pubs a deep clean and replace tatty furnishings?

Drinks came when our food was eaten, ordered via the app, place wasn't busy, other wetherspoons the drinks are usually before the food???????

Outside tables dirty and sticky. Gull and pigeons all over uncleared plates. Elderly boozers attracted by low prices. I will never go to a Wetherspoons pub again. Hated everything about it . Really nasty.

Outside sitting eating area on the river front. Loads of seating inside, upside, and downstairs. Food reasonably priced. Good size portions. You can order on the App or at the bar. Lots of food choices.

Wasn’t even served my drink after waiting for half an hour so just left. Food okayish, tables pretty dirty. Pity cause the location is pretty nice

I had a buttermilk chicken burger with salad. As seen in the photo the salad was poor. Good for drinks. But not for food.

I love my spoons however we waited for an hour for food whilst customers who came in after where getting served well before after speaking to the manager been told foods now coming the food was good however the service and time was awful and had been offered refund back but kept being walking past with no urgency or refund

Cheap I know, but food miles apart from other whether spoons, this restaurant is hopeless at burgers, not had one here for a while, took the plunge yesterday the chips were hot onion rings were hot burger was like warm dried out probably from under a heat lamp and bacon seemed like it was straight from the fridge. Would of sent back too however needed to go but this meal came out as the guests I was eating with had almost finished eating and this was all on the same order, well done!!!!! Might be cheap and cheerful but getting 3 meals out at the same time and hot at the point of delivery should not be, beer much better than food unless of course you have had too much beer so food is more palatable.

Member of staff was so bloody rude, just wanted clarification on why our drinks took so long, then she told us never ever to ask that again………………appalling, I know they were busy busy but learn some manners! All she had to say was ‘really sorry for the wait, but we are rammed today!’ It’s not rocket science………..

Massive place all credit to the staff for keeping everyone happy.

Breakfast - most underwhelming Wetherspoons breakfast ever. Cold greasy bacon, cold rock hard toast, hardly any beans, terrible scrambled egg. Venue - nearly all ladies toilets blocked, floor at bar very sticky.

Well crowded and not clean but after finding an 'empty' bar table and acquiring 4 chairs had some appetizers and drinks with friends before catching a movie.

Went here for coffee at 11.00. Not busy when we were there but will be on match day and evenings. Light, spacious and airy ..

Just called in here for a coffee. Lovely location by the river and close to the city centre. Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

We wanted a quick bite to eat, popped in used the app, and were served very promptly. Well done guys, great service!

One of those annoying Wetherspoons which, unlike most of the chain, does not have any draught real cider. Most have either Old Rosie or Black Dragon, but the best this house had was a bottle of a fizzy Aspalls. Pleasant riverside seating.

The Queen of Iceni is always busy, it is a large place. I have given it a 3 for the service just because the staff are so busy that it takes longer, not a reflection in the staff. Atmosphere is great especially if it is sunny. You may struggle to get a seat which means waiting around until one becomes free. Would recommend going here for early drinks

Affordable drink menu with specials for ordering 2 drinks at a time. No table service- you order on their app. Busy location. We came for afternoon drinks.

Great place but it's let down by some of the young girls that work there. They've got a bad attitude! They look so miserable, they roll their eyes at customers if they get in their way then stand talking about them! If you're not happy in your job then find something else! Service with a smile!!

The service by the staff is super good in a very busy pub. It was the first time i had ordered via App, and spoke to staff, who where helpful. It was raining so was busier than usual on saturday afternoon. Lots of students. Food is typical spoons, good value for money - burger, chips with hot drink.

Never go in there the bouncers will throw you against metal bars without much reason and will blame you for it, with the guard not having a camera conveniently which seems very suspicious of any activity that he does

I went here the evening that Take That were playing at Carrow Road so it was packed. Considering how busy it was I didn't have to wait to long to be served. Prices are so reasonable. Great atmosphere too

Went for breakfast. Food as usual was luke warm although the service was quick. It's a wetherspoons so you know what you're going to get.

Large Wetherspoons spread across two floors. Great location right beside the river. Always super easy to order food and drinks in a Wetherspoons and never normally have an issue, but my cooked breakfast did not come with everything it mentioned on the app, but the server had gone by the time I realised. Other than that, pretty good.

Very cheap, so busy. Simple, but good food, specially for the price we paid. Just have not enjoyed vibe. Excellent location but wrong crowd. Have been waiting way too long to place an order.

I was part of a party of 12 people aged from 10 to 84. We found somewhere to sit but had to occupy four separate tables as there were no large tables available. We ordered as a group,via the app and everyone except me got their dinner reasonably promptly. As it was Curry Thursday I had ordered the sweet potato & chickpea curry with spinach. Most of the rest of our party had finished their meal, mine had still not arrived! I had to ask twice when my meal would come. Once it did arrive it was very tasty, but I had to wolf it down because the rest of the party was ready to leave. The staff were apologetic and said the cost would be refunded to the person who paid by card, but the refund could take up to two weeks!

Not too bad 1st time experience - service was pretty good 👌 👍 with drinks coming out very quickly. Only let down was there wasn't any options for gluten or dairy free food 🤔 which to be honest would be great considering there's not many pubs etc locally that cater for this.

Can be a lovely pub, great atmosphere and great regulars. Always decent food, apart from the unfortunate hair we found in our burger about a week ago. They remade our order swiftly.

3 men there who couldn't get the app to work. Couldn't buy food then, so had to leave. It is not possible to order at the bar either, we were told.

I ordered the chicken basket and was given 9 chicken bites - not 10. I had a similar experience at the Glass House the other day too. Please learn how to count to 10 and give people the right portions. It's embarrassing to have to ask for the correct about, I wouldn't mind but I've had this twice at this Spoons now and once elsewhere - clearly it's a common occurrence or a tactic at stealing food without the stock count flagging.

I know it's a cheap and cheerful chain. But this was one dirty, really dirty, all the tables, the floor. It smelt awful. So much so we wouldn't order food. I get it had probably a very busy bank holiday Monday but the amount of empty dirty tables the staff should have reacted.

I ordered the vegan jacket potato roasted veg and there was some stray bacon on the side of my plate. I just moved it away as it wasn't touching the food, and it was all okay. But this wouldn't be ideal for allergies and other issues. Otherwise, it was a nice day the food and drink was really nice and I had a nice meal.

Good layout. Nice outside area overlooking the river and close to the railway station.
