It was the 4th time I've visited the restaurant on 5 December - I've been a cheerleader since I first went and couldn't wait to return for the festive menu. It started well, we were able to move our table when we got to the restaurant which was appreciated, but quite a disappointing/confusing experience: - The steak as part of the festive menu, is actually 1 smallish portion to share. I get it's a tasting menu, but, meh - No potato/carb or sauce to go with the main - half a steak portion and soggy parsnips/sprouts. - Mince pie tart was dry with clotted cream like it had been tossed next to it. - There was an optional cheese course that we would have both had - but we were given the bill without prompt straight after the dessert, whilst we still had half a bottle of wine left. The card machine brought over and asked if we'd like to split when we were nowhere near finished and hadn't requested the bill. Felt like we'd outstayed our welcome when the restaurant was still packed with everyone tucking into their mains. If it was early and they needed the table, maybe you understand (if you were being really kind) - or if we were the last in and everyone wanted to go home. It was neither. On the other occasions I'd visited I left buzzing with how nice it was, but on this occasion left annoyed.

We had a lovely mid-week dinner at Chophouse. We ordered the set menu so that we could try a selection of the food, and were happy with the variety. The steak and mince pie were the stars of the show. The sides were disappointing with not a lot of ‘wow factor’. I particularly enjoyed the details of the restaurant including the vintage style plates, Sheffield steel cutlery and cloth hand towels in the bathroom. We were in and out of the restaurant quickly, so something to keep in mind if you are looking for a ‘long-lunch’ or ‘long-dinner’ vibe, the food arrived fast and the staff were very attentive. The dessert wines didn’t have prices and our waitress wasn’t sure how much they were by the glass which meant we didn’t order any. We also thought the whole experience was on the more expensive side, in comparison to other restaurants we have dinned at recently.

I go to QCH once for a year, and every time I’m there I’m thinking “damn I forgot how good this restaurant is”. The quality of the ingredients is unmatched, the level of creativity for the dishes is absolutely outstanding. At this level this is just art. Please, please, please, listen to staff recommendations, they try and know the dishes. The best meals I’ve had there were those I didn’t think to order at first, just like this candied bacon that looked like stiffy toffee pudding. This absolutely blew my mind.

Food is fine. Sunday menu is good, likely warrants 4 stars. The reasoning for 3 stars is solely down to the service which felt very rushed. While our waitress was polite throughout her behaviour at the end of the meal tainted our experience. It was very clear that they were trying to close the restaurant and our waitress just continued to snatch items off the table as we finished. It was rude and could have been managed better.

Went for a birthday meal and the Quality Chop house was excellent. Seating is cosy but you’re not on top of each other. The birthday card on the table signed by the staff was a very nice touch. The menu is small but has a great variety to choose from. Our waitress answered any questions and had great knowledge on the food and the extensive wine menu. The food is sort of old school but in a modern way. Starters of sweetbreads and brawn were delicious and then the mains of widgeon( it’s real, not a mistype) and the pork chop were incredible. The flavour was incredible and they had to be to make sure the whole meal wasn’t overshadowed by the confit potatoes. I contemplated getting another portion of those for my dessert, I didn’t and went for the cheese , which had a candle in it. Once you’ve visited this place you can understand why it has survived for so long.

Very nice spot, good service and excellent food. We got the t bone steak (medium rare - more rare) and the pork chop. Both excellent. Would recommend the starters/snacks due to the wait for the mains. Confit potatoes are a generous portion - probably split between 2.

We had a wonderful experience here tonight, in large part thanks to Lucy's wonderful service and recommendations. Everything we tried was a standout, but the Devon crab, the pithivier, and the olive oil ice cream all had me saying 'this is one of the best dishes I've ever eaten'. A new London fave, we will be back (and recommending to everyone we know). Thank you!

From the moment you walk in you’re greeted by lovely friendly service. Wine list is strong, staff know the wine list. Quality of meat is 10/10. Ask about the dishes if you don’t know what it is you might learn something. Amazing place. Lots of original features. Cod roe was my fav starter. Pork and lamb chops so nice. Confit potato’s are as good as it gets, don’t miss them. Over all a perfect experience and a great one to take visitors to London. On the pricey side of this type of meal but that’s driving by drinks choice.

Everything here is cooked really well and is very tasty. Service is great and the atmosphere is lovely. However it’s incredibly expensive for food that is quite simple and easy to plate. I don’t think £38 for a simple pork chop with no sides is reasonable - even though it was a delicious pork chop.

The fish tails, and monkfish liver: insane. What a great idea for a menu. Unlike anything ive had elsewhere. The pappadelle was handmade. I dislike italian food in london, but this put me in my place. Perfect. The main roast was better than fallow. Never thought I’d say that. The only improvement / suggestion is that the church pews are horribly uncomfortable. Im 5’10 and 117kg, bare this in mind when booking. Ask for a table and chairs. True roast fans will appreciate this: the potatos and yorkshire pudding were proper. Not a thin layer of crust on the roasts, thick outer coating of crust. The yorkshire batter was thick. Could have been a dutch baby.

You will struggle to hold a conversation even with a close table of two. The food is good - but good enough to come back for. No real complaints, but there is nothing to wow about. The service is very good, attentive and friendly - not too disruptive. The price is crazy - we easily spent £150/each wihtout going crazy. Would we try this place once - maybe. Would we come back - never.

I don't like steak or lamb but these were melt in your mouth and buttery brooooooo The treacle tart with fresh cream changed my life for real.
