Saint Espresso in Islington

It became just the common offering the overpriced croissant and coffee. They are just seating in their comfy seat living on the branding and coffee atmosphere. In Baker St they are just a two seat enterprise whereas in Kentish Town they are on the grubby and dirty from the entrance to the presentation. Not what any European would want. More of the Gail would suit although I cannot deny the good intentions behind the coffee purchasing and knowledge. All fails if you offer supermarket fare.

I went to grab a coffee because I’m a regular customer at Saint Espresso. I’ve never been to this shop again I usually go to Hackney Wick and the service has terrible, no atmosphere, no vibe. At least the coffee was decent but I think SAINT team needs to double check the place specially if it’s a franchise or something. Nothing like the quality we used to know by them.

Tempted in by the waft of freshly ground coffee. Not a big space but some seats outside. Varied pastries. Hazelnut and chocolate croissant was large and delicious. The coffee was as lovely as the smell. Water also provided to get yourself from the service area. Service was very polite and prompt. It is a dog friendly cafe. £14 for two coffees and two pastries.

Despite the high rating, the coffee taste and service were very, very, very worst. The black cashier is very unfriendly and doesn't even say hello. Even though I ate it at the store, I had to bring my own coffee. Worst cafe.

I visited this cafe today - I was very pleased with the service . Staff was very friendly and helpful 🙂 We got croissants , coffee , tea and matcha - delicious ! The croissants were fresh and tasty and so where the drinks ! We also tried the handmade energy ball - coffee and almond flavour .

Nice coffee, lovely waiter, pretty café. There’s no reason not to visit and no reason not to return

The espresso and drinks are very good, although a bit expensive. The in store experience could be a tiny bit more comfortable, but it's not a reason to avoid.

Lovely decorated coffee shop, with decent coffee and friendly barista. Not the best cinnamon roll I’ve had but it wont stop me from revisiting!

Really nice chilled out cafe. I had a flat white which was really good. The staff were friendly and service was quick. It’s a nice place to meet friends or read a book and had some super comfy sofas. It didn’t feel pretentious like some of the cafes can. I particularly liked the Sinclair C5 they had up on display! Definitely somewhere I’d come back to.

I had a flat white (bad) and a vegan pain au chocolate (rubbery). It used to be good but something has gone wrong

One of the most horrible coffee I have had in a long time. Total waste of money

So glad to grab a too good to go surprise bag from here. The pack includes a cheese toast and a pastry, just £3, what a good deal. I had another iced black as well. Not strong.

Lovely light atmosphere, great music, smooooth matcha, really friendly and kind staff and ahh just such a lovely place to be in!

Beautifully designed café with a character, loads of light, lovely smiley service and very tasty coffee. Apricot Danish was a great companion to my batch brew. If I had lived around this would surely be my daily 'to go to' for the dose of caffeine :)

Lovely and bright space with nice staff. I love their coffee and their salted caramel brownie is to die for.

I usually love going here but today the service is a long way from being up to scratch. A disappointing 3 star experience... not what I usually expect.

How on earth a single espresso take away ( average quality for london ... but barely acceptable in south of Italy !!) costs £2.9!!?? Shamefully expensive

Coffee shop without coffee. Yes they ran out of beans. The one thing they should have plenty of. Sold us our coffees then told us that they had none. Asked for a refund but apparently they can't give refunds! Had to wait 20 mins for someone to bring beans. Even after the wait the coffee was tasteless .

My coffee looked and tasted amazing. The barista was so friendly and she did beautiful latte art and really made my day. Thank you!

Coffee is good but no wifi and no bathroom

Ordered a tumeric oat latte which wasnt really hot it was luke warm and brought in a glass, waiter was happy to change however he could of done so with a smile and be more welcoming .

My coffee tasted burnt and the bacon brioche I had was burnt as well, i had to leave on the plate the bottom part. The baristas were nice and the brioche would've been nice not toasted.. Another little suggestion: please have more alternative milk options because not everyone can have oat milk.

For a cafe called Saint Espresso you’d expect good espresso, this was not good. It was weak and bitter

Extremely dopey staff that need better training, I would avoid this place. Yesterday I ordered a cappuccino. When they made a latte by mistake, the woman said they’d remake it. 2 mins later she turned round to me and asked ‘have you ordered?’ I had to then re-explain their mistake. She then tried to give me the latte!! At that point I was furious and took it and left.

Speedy service and good food. Unfortunately there was no ice for cold drinks.

I'm not quite sure how a coffee shop with tables and seating doesn't offer any wifi.

Excellent coffee and they have delicious vegan pain au chocolat

Decent espresso. Poured long. Acidic style but well balanced. Slight sweetness. Orange peel, cocoa. Slightly thin mouth feel and very little crema but was pulled into a cup between the serving cup so Kay have lost a little of the early pour in the middle cup. Very decent! Grew on me as it cooled.

Been to the mini branch at the Angel Centre several times and always going back. Best coffee in the area (flat whites specifically), almond croissants are annoyingly addictive, and the staff are really lovely. Great to go in after a commute into London!

Dear Saint Espresso management, could you please teach your staff no to be rude to your customers? Yesterday I ordered a cup of coffee at 16:00. Later your batista with no whatsoever polite "sorry" just was taking away my cup of coffee in a rude way saying: "We are closing!!" It was exactly at 16:30. I understand that the shop needs to be closed at this time, but afterall can I finish my coffee for what I paid for and have a decent polite service? I've lost any desire to return here..

Nice and small coffeehouse next to the very busy pentonville road. Prices could be a bit less but it’s ok.

A superb little coffee shop offer ring seriously good coffee and strong at that too! They have some nice cakes/treats of which some are vegan. Can be nice to sit outside as there is a small bit of greenery before the major road.

Good coffee and pastries, with really lovely staff. Visited on a sunny day and sat outside. Even though we were next to a busy road, it felt tranquil. Recommended!

Best banana bread amongst all cafes in the UK! Having it toasted gives it a note of caramel. Simple banana flavor with no additional ingredients. Sublime.

Quite possibly the best long black in London

Super helpful barista when helping me to select the best beans for a pour over "situation" :) (thanks!!). Really patient and even gave me useful pointers on how best to grind the beans for maximum taste based on my preferences. Overall, would definitely be back for have a coffee (was a tad too late for me when i visited!)

Delicious vegan treats/cake that don’t feel too heavy and sit just right! The long black I had was superb and the guy behind the counter was perfectly friendly and polite when I couldn’t quite pronounce the name of what I ordered. Fantastic service and will be back! Great place to get a coffee when standing in the line for Fara!

Delightful coffee shop, with excellent baristas, and very high quality coffee beans and consistently good drinks. Went here recently during the second lockdown whilst moving house. They were open and had everything available for takeaway (drinks, baked goods, beans), and the barista kept up a great spirit and smile to brighten our day, even during what must be a tough time for small businesses. (I highly recommend their whole beans if you're into brewing at home; they have fantastic specialty varieties and also take online orders.) Will be going here frequently when it's allowed, even though it is a 50 min journey from where I live in SE London, as I have not had reliable coffee better than this.

Loved vegan options for coffee and cake.

It looks like really specialty coffee - service, coffee, stuff and place are great. It’s possible to have v60, aeropress or other alternative methods of brewing. I got v60 during day time even with big flow of visitors. Also I had very interesting conversation with barista about coffee and different methods of brewing.

Rude workers...( no even Hi....no smile....nothing..when I talk to my cat..he is answering...those people....) We asked to use wc... respond was..." we don't have toilets...". We grappled our coffies seat down..2 minutes lates coming couple and ask for toilets....can you guess what happened.....respond was ..yee sure sure go ahead on left side......

I had single espresso (Columbia), and it went something like this: Quick sourness (fruity/tasty) Slight bitterness that quickly changes into a long, wholesome nutty sweetness Pleasant fruitiness returns only just slightly along with nice fragrant note Then the wholesome nuttiness just lingers... (sit back and enjoy...) I have been disappointed by so many other 'speciality' coffee places in London recently - unpleasant sourness then quick finish, horrible. It shouldn't be so hard to find a decent cup of coffee in a big city like London, but it really is at the moment... Thank you very much Saint Espresso for the proper espresso!

OK for a needed pause mid walk, with good coffee and iced versions of latté and mocha, on whst was one of the hottest days of the year. Coffee was at the standard of Saint Espresso elsewhere in the area. But humidity and heat drove us away quickly, and limited outdoor (and shaded) seating meant we did not linger.

Delicious coffee and amazing staff. The barista remembers what I order and they prepare the coffee for me in advance when they see me waiting in the queue. So nice!

I used to come here pre-lockdown and was so happy to see them open at the end of April. The new lockdown barista, Tom, is the best! Really friendly and great chat to start off the day. Also helps that, with loads of options, the coffee here is the best in the neighbourhood.

Never had a bad coffee here! It’s a nice place to sit in and have a drink and the staff are friendly.

Small coffee (and tea) shop just around the corner from Angel. Smile on arrival, swift service, everything very nicely presented and fair pricing make this a very good choice.

This is down to being given dairy milk when I asked for Almond. The server was great but when someone has a really bad allergy and asks for an alternative milk which they have to pay for they really should get what they asked for. £3.60 coffee which I couldn't drink.

Wonderful ambiance, sandwich and chai latte!

This is a typical hipster coffee shop in a great location near the farmer's market. We stopped in for a tea and coffee and to warm up from the weather. They didn't have many food options, but some pastries were available. The place was small and crowded, but the acoustics made it so we could easily hear ourselves.

I enjoy this little coffee shop, but it tends to be completely packed just after lunch when all the nearby office workers are all extending their meeting rooms to this little place. One tends to overhear quite a bit of office gossip, so that's always an interesting side effect.

They've been cashless before but they've recently been robbed so only accept cash for now. But it's a lovely small place, worth going to ATM

Nice staff. However brought my parents here for their first flat white and it was awful. All foam, no coffee flavor at all. Hugely disappointing, I had to say “Ah, yeah, they usually taste like more than milk.”
