"Not a review on staying in the hotel, just using the gym and having lunch. Had lunch here with a friend ,it was my second visit ,the last one being just as bad. I ordered the fish and chips . Looked good when it came ,well presented in a retro type box with newspaper, but that was to be the best part . The fish looked like it had been fried at least 3 times and tasted even worse.Id guess it was deep fried and frozen ,unbelievably greasy and totally inedible ,the chips were just as bad if not worse ,the tiny little serving of peas was the only piece of nutrition on the plate,so still hungry we ordered the sweets ,should not have bothered as they were as bad on quality and taste as the main . Looks like cheap mass produced frozen produce is to blame . Such a nice hotel and ambience ,nice restaurant but will be the last time I will have food in there ,looking at the amount of people that visit the hotel and the number that are actually eating food Im not alone ."

I visited the bar this evening with a friend for dinner. Firstly I had chicken strips to start which at £7.50 for 4 I found quite expensive I must add though they were nice. For my main course I had steak pie which to be honest was like a children's portion, there was not much meat in it either. Although what meat that was in the steak pie it was tender at £11 it's vastly overpriced. My friend had a burger which looked tasty and also more like a proper portion size! I will now be going home to cook some dinner!

Decided to pop in after a visit to the Glasgow Science Centre and was hoping to catch the carvery, unfortunately we arrived at 4:30 and told no free tables until 5 when the a la Carte menu would be available. I might add we could see over 10 free tables in restaurant. We instead opted for the bar menu. Kids meals were £5.95 and you got main with choice of 2 veg, dessert plus drink, good value. Adult not so. I went for half ribs and got 5 very small ribs about 3 inches long with not a lot of meat, small portion of chips and a thimble full of coleslaw. For £11 that's just mean !! My wife went for the steak pie and again lite on the chips and veg. So for two adults meals, three kids plus drinks we were just over £45 but the positions just don't justify the cost. Would I go back, probably not.

Staying in the hotel we wanted to grab a quite dinner before heading to the Hydro for Madonna. Settled with the bar area vs the main restaurant and we were not disappointed. We struggled to get a table to start with however after getting a drink a table freed up. Ordered 2 chicken tikka curries, beers and a soft drink and the bill came in at £29. The curries were divine, served with some bread on the side, not overly generous portions but just enough. Great start to our night. Visited 21/12/15 YB Glasgow Madonna.

Having now visited this place twice, I can say it wasn't good on both occasions. I work in the area and we always welcome a new addition to the neighbourhood as it's is a bit out of the way. The first time I visited with colleagues in the summer and we had the £1 burger offer on a Friday. I chose the vegetarian burger with a slice of cheese, chips and a side salad. The burger was cheap at a total of less than £3 and the side salad another £3 or so. The chips were ok, the veggie burger was really very poor - dry and tasteless - and the side salad came in a mini bowl that was hardly bigger in shape and volume than a mars bar. So overall a very disappointing meal. The other day I went again with work colleages for lunch. I ordered the "Superfood Salad" with quinoa, broccoli, peas, avocado and feta cheese - for £9! It was all very bland but the quinoa itself tasted odd (kind of old) and the feta had a sharp cheap-feta aftertaste and I couldn't finish it because i really didn't enjoy it. The other items on the lunch menu are alsom pretty expensive for what they are and dominated by stodgy options which is not ideal for a lunch. I would suggest to improve the overall quality of the food as well as the quality of the cooking and also rethink the lunch menu to offer lighter and cheaper options and more attractive vegatarian meals.

This black box of a building is across the road behind the BBC building. Staff all seem very raw. The huge 'Verve Grill" was naturally empty at the end of lunch time, we sat in the Pub section and ordered and paid at the bar. Service is quite charm free I think the large number of TV's would be better to talk to. Our tables cutlery bucket was empty so we got up for our own. Two meals for £15 available until 3pm. My burger (in a brioche bun) came with mushroom, onion and good tomato relish. The fries were good rusticy/skin on ones. So not bad, very limited looking menu though with all the same old. The kitchen was very quiet and food came quickly. I sort of expected the managers to ask what we thought or to make conversation, but they had no interest.

Delicious freshly made scone with Butter and Jam and superb Vanilla Latte (Mum had an amazing Mueille Feuille) cake. Lovely friendly, helpful staff who were engaging and couldn't do enough to help us. It's also great for people like one of our family members who use a wheelchair. We had never been before and had a great experience.
