The Potting Shed in New Forest

1st visit and it was superb will definitely be back. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Our food, 4 breakfasts , was amazing. Fresh, locally produced and delicious , and our server , Hayley, was so helpful and informative, and all the staff, unusually, seemed happy and enjoying their work

Had the best falafel and spinach burger I’ve had for ages and my wife’s spicy chicken burger was equally scrummy. Best place to pop into in this part of the Forest.

Friendly staff. Excellent food from the comprehensive menu. Lovely setting, different seating areas inside and out. Very dog friendly with water bowls provided and fresh water on tap. Would highly recommend and go back again.

I mostly agree with many of the reviews here - this is a nice establishment, well run with generally excellent food. I have knocked off a point though as increased prices seem to now be in danger of losing touch with reality. Value for money is of course important too so it was disappointing that the single scone that came with my £7.50 Cream Tea was somewhat diminutive in size.

Had to return this year after such wonderful meals last year! Fantastic breakfast and lunch and we’ve noticed that they now have a Tuesday dinner night, but unfortunately will be away by then. Do give it a shot!

We breakfast here twice during our short stay in the New Forest such was the quality and taste of the food. A small cooked breakfast from the menu with fantastic flavour and the second time cinnamon toast with yogurt and Berry compote. Absolutely worth the trip. Friendly staff, wonderful food with quirky seating area out the back. To the front is more seating both in shade and sun. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit. Dog friendly too.

Had a lovely lunch here with friends. A couple of us went for the fish finger sandwich and loved the inclusion of the scampi fries. The home made slaw was delicious and the scones for the afternoon tea were still warm. Sat in the covered area to the rear; tables nicely spaced out, so you wouldn't be on top of others, if it was full. Dog-friendly with bowls of water ready to go for our canine companions. Got the impression it was popular with the locals as much as tourists. Good, friendly service.

I went to the Potting Shed for afternoon tea & would highly recommend it. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely visit again.

What a dream of a cafe! If I lived nearer I would visit every day. Utter perfection, from friendly staff to amazing sandwiches to epic cakes. I highly recommend you pay this place a visit. They were also very dog friendly and even brought games over for my kids to play. Loved it.

What an amazing find!! We asked the owner of a B&B we were staying at locally (Little Acorns in Woodgreen) for a recommendation of a local cafe that serves really good food and they suggested we tried The Potting Shed in Hyde, and we were not disappointed! We both had filled flat breads (different fillings) on our first visit and they were really delicious. We enjoyed the food so much we came back again for lunch the following day! This time we shared a tomato soup and their Buddha bowl and again both were superb, really rich and flavoursome. We finished off our meal with a slice of carrot cake, Dorset apple cake (both absolutely heavenly!) and a really nice decaf latte. We honestly couldn’t fault anything about our experience, and the icing on the cake was leaving with some lovely plants which they have on sale outside the cafe! This has become our go to spot for a light lunch when we visit this part of the New Forest which we do at least once a year. Well done Potting Shed team!

I went on my mobility scooter and had afternoon tea , their cakes were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful towards me so no I am going to visit them again very soon.
