The extremely friendly staff aside, along with the phenomenal service and attentiveness. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BURGER!!!!! If you are a meat lover (like me) this burger is an EXPERIENCE! one that i loved, one that i have to share.

Classic 5 star experience. We came there without a reservation for lunch on a Sunday. Got a table on the first floor which is just lovely! Orders different samplers and the fish and chips. All was delicious, especially the lamb croquette and the fish! Service was great, check was reasonable. A great experience, can recommend this without any doubt. Enjoy!

Lovely pub, shame about the food. Good service (although no-one asked us how our food was). I ordered the fish and chips for main, fish was not good at all. It was an overcooked piece of batter with practically no fish inside. Chips were ok. Crumble was dry and floury.

Great Sunday roast with the lamb for two superb as was the beef and the cauliflower cheese and greens on top ...lovely service and nice spot outside .....had a great day that turned into a soirees over the bank holiday ...thanks all and see you soon ! Been going back on a regular basis since the review about 8 months ago and all friends have loved the place both the great team and service and the friendly atmosphere and superb food/drinks …going to miss you all as I head back east but keep up the good work and wish you all every success..see within 12 months when I am next in town !

For me it's the best fish and chips in London and it's a city I've been visiting for 6 years. And what’s more, the very cozy decor is really cool. (And what’s more, there are French people on the team. 😊) PS: they don't just do fish and chips of course. It’s just that I go there for this dish.

I love this chic pub in Marylebone, yes it’s spenny but so are all other places in the area 👀 the sitting area on the first floor is done nicely, great atmosphere. Would recommend for a drink or a Sunday brunch. Both fish&chips and the pie, that we tried were very delicious. We will visit again soon 🍸

We had a large group lunch here on Sunday and everything was great. We'd just run a 10K so were all arriving sporadically and had kids and dogs with us. The team looked after us really well and the food was great. Thank you! :)

The food was very tasty however the size of the portions need to increase for Sunday lunch.

Fish and chips were amazing. Even better service. Offered a bowl of water to our dog and even switched on outdoor heating when they saw we were freezing outdoors.

We visited as a family for Valentine's Day. We liked the ambiance and atmosphere inside, and the fact that they accept pets was also important. We were satisfied with the service and the staff who assisted us. The food was of the quality we expected. However, there was a loud buzz inside, I think because the walls are not covered with a material that absorbs noise. Since we live in that area, we will visit again.

The best Sunday roast I have had in a very long time , accompanied by great wine ( recommended by our waitress) and immaculate service. Great experience!

Came for Saturday lunch with mum just on the off chance. Was a bit hesitant as we’d never eaten here before but the food here exceeded our expectations! Firstly from get the get go, Luke, who served us, displayed the highest level of customer service possible. He was very kind and friendly which is always important when eating out. We had the frigitelli, mushrooms on sourdough and the risotto, which my Italian mum said was “the best risotto I’ve ever had”! Considering we had an all vegetarian meal… VERY impressive. Finally.. the baked Alaska with dark chocolate ice cream was also really, really good.

Friendly staff. Sat near fireplace - overwhelmed by the heat by the end, had to move as felt dizzy. Food tasty but the risotto was cold! The staff kindly brought a fresh plate and amended the bill

Office lunch. Picked because great food - and the food is great but…. seems like the chef has left or was off. Food took ages to arrive. I was told a well done steak would take “longer so we needed to be aware”. I was like what 3 minutes longer? (Yes I know I am a karen). Anyway 2 of us ordered mussels for £15 each. We literally got 6 each as though it was a starter portion. The waitress did agree it was a small portion so ordered some more and we got 6 more mussels between us. It was all so faulty towers. We were offered 10% off the bill but at £93 for a steak - was delicious friend said, pasty risotto, a questionable amount of mussels, 2 glasses of wine and a coke it seemed pricey. I guess I would think twice before going again. (I live locally).

We organised a family re-union at the Portman and it was a great venue for the event. The location is central and the upstairs function room is light and airy. The food was excellent and the team looked after us very well, making a real effort to ensure that event went to smoothly. Highly recommended.

We hosted a drinks reception for my wedding at the Portman and it was faultless! All of the Portman team were so friendly, attentive and the service was all round 5 stars! The canapés were delicious and were enjoyed by all of our guests. I can't recommend the Portman enough for any kind of event (and the Sunday roasts are the best in London!)

Mussels with lemongrass and perfect espresso made a very happy change from usual pub food, beautifully made (And husband delighted with fish and chips). Highly recommended

Sadly didn't get to eat even though we had booked months earlier as the bar staff was unwilling to move someone from our table as we were 13 mins early we would need to wait, not wanting to buy a drink as we wanted wine with our meal we waited and then someone else sat down at our table so we choose to go else where I'm sure the food would have been nice but honestly really dissapointed

Very disappointed-food was ok- our steak was very undercooked-some waitresses were nice but had to insist for table upstairs- toilets dirty and no toilet paper..

The Portman ensured my sisters and I had a great family Christmas reunion. We pre-ordered from the Christmas menu and our delicious lunch was enjoyed by all 22 of us! The service was great and they were both patient and efficient with our noisy group. My thanks to all.

Our Christmas lunch venue.Fabulous staff, very welcoming m, made feel at ease and were very polite, courteous and very professional at the same time. Food was good and so was the ambience with a fantastic playlist to keep us glued till evening from mid-day. Great place to go for a good time !

This was the best food we found in a two week tour across Dublin, Edinburgh, Oxford, and London. Do not miss it.

Amazing Sunday roast. Had prawns for starter, then the beef and a crumble for pudding. Service was attentive and swift. No complaints.

I made reservations by email and Vanessa was quick to respond to my request for a table for 4 on a Saturday night. Although the bar area of the pub was full, we were quickly seated in the upstairs dining area. This was my second time at The Portman and I ordered ordered fish and chips. If you want hot, crispy, delicious fish with your chips then go to The Portman. So good! End your meal with Sticky Toffee Pudding—yum!

I originally gave this place a 5 star review for our first visit. The service was great, the vibe was relaxed and welcoming and we loved the wood burning stove. However, my wife came back the second night and had a less than stellar experience. It was quite busy on the second night so the waitress sat my wife outside which was fine. However, nobody came to serve her for 15 minutes. When the waitress finally came outside, she helped the other table, looked at my wife and completely ignored her. My wife waited another few minutes before leaving for another place. Not sure what the issue was that night.

We had 16 people and the team at Portman were fantastic. Started cooking the roasts when everyone had arrived, the Roasts were top quality and the team checked in on us for drinks throughout. 10/10

Just had some fries (as we were early for a restaurant reservation elsewhere) but they were quite good. Good beer selection, friendly staff.

We spent a great time after dinner at the Portman! Have a drink in this english but not oldish bar to enjoy the real London after eight.

A really nice pub with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is amazingly warm and welcoming. Giving extra attention to my 80+ father was so sweet! Truly recommend this place.

We visited The Portman for a quick late lunch before heading home. The food is of a good standard but it is on the expensive side for a Pub. The location is good with seating outside. Be warned that a 12.5% Service Charge is added to your bill before you get any service! If great service is received then this shouldn’t pose a problem, but I’d say that the service is mediocre at best. Also do check your bill as we were charged for an item which we never ordered; also with a 12.5% service charge slapped on top. Upon query, we did get a refund but I couldn’t be bothered to argue for the portion of the 12.5% back on the item not received. As stated, the food is good, the service mediocre for the price. A pint of Peroni will set you back £7.00. Do check out the area as there are many eateries nearby to choose from.

I will never get tired of The Portman! The best pub in the WHOLE of West London. Amazing service, delicious food and a wide range of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The panzanella salad special with goats curd was slightly on the greasy side for me (slimming world changed my eating habits), but i still ate it all, because it tasted good! Pickled walnuts & goats curd in the mix 🤌🏾 The beef dripping croutons were special! If the salad is on their specials board again, i'm buying bread to mop up the oil. You should too! :)

Friendly, attentive service from the team on a Saturday lunchtime. Loved sitting on an outside table on a very quiet road. Excellent food (the hake in particular) and top quality cask ale. Our first time here but we will be back!

Very friendly staff, a decent selection of beers on tap (Two Tribes Dream was our favourite) and a fantastically tasty Sunday roast for four vegetarians. Both the dukkah and the wellington are recommended. We had quite a loud, excited baby with us but the staff and locals were very patient. The specials looked good, we'll be back to try those and desserts, with hopefully a quieter kid in tow!

Absolutely love The Portman, it is my favourite place for sunday lunch. The food is amazing, the staff are all so friendly, and the restaurant is a really comfortable welcoming place!

We celebrated my sons bday with lunch at this most wonderful pub courtesy of Dar Lewis. The food was beyond pub Gastro, the battered fish n chips was delicious and only bettered by the finest pint of Guinness I’ve ever quaffed in London. Our party was delighted with the whole experience, highly recommended, we will be back…. Did I mention the Guinness 😎

It’s rare these days to have your drinks served in plastic cups & being told they were shutting early on a Saturday night?! If you don’t have consistent operating hours on a weekend why bother opening?

Spent a lovely afternoon in the sun on an outside table with friends, good quality lager, delicious food (burger and poachers tart particularly!), served by really friendly/helpful staff, great little spot

Loved the old school pub vibe, wooden tables, people drinking in the streets and great atmosphere. But not too old. The food was very good for what it was - old school pub food: fish and chips, simple stuff. I knew exactly what I was getting and it lived up to the billing in spades. Great friendly staff as well!

There is only one word to describe Anouche and that is… incredible. The service was second to none, but regardless of that, Anouche was such an inspiring human being. She was serving me and my friends pints whilst giving the most amazing conversation and inspired us to be the best people we could be. I cannot thank Anouche enough for changing my outlook on life. One specific thing we wanted on our vacation/holiday was a Sunday Roast with Yorkshire pudding. This meal did not disappoint. Everything was fabulous! From the Limoncello Spritzer to the roast, even the background music, it was just as we had hoped! Made for a memorable Mother’s Day. Highly recommend The Portman!
