Came for a quick pint with a mate for the first time, walked past it many times but never popped in - what a shame I hadn’t! A fantastic pub with an amazing staff, with food which tastes as good as it tastes! Great pricing for Northampton Town Centre, and a massive beer garden perfect for the summer. Couldn’t recommend it enough, even if you’re popping in for one!

Halloumi burger and beef burger absolutely incredible!!!! Our son had the cod goujons and I was really impressed to see the chef hand battering & frying them. Really good food for fantastically reasonable price. Sat in the garden and great atmosphere.

Visited here a few weeks ago when there was an event in the garden. Lovely little sun trap, they had some great cocktails on offer at the cocktail bar outside and the food was brilliant. DJs were also on all day for a great vibe

Fantastic roast beef dinner, the best I have had for a long time.

Went there for a Sunday roast. Wow! It was very nice! There were 10 of us at the dinner. All of us enjoyed our dishes. All about the seasoning and textures. Desserts were very nice. Good value for money too! Friendly staff and service.

I will be Making this my local .. The staff are always friendly and are happy to help .. great atmosphere.. can get a bit load at times but I am getting old lol .. There is a massive garden area outside to get away.I am really looking forward to the summer when i can sit and enjoy a beer outside .I have just had my first sunday dinner here .. What a great meal just the right amount but you can buy a bit extra ..Well worth the Money .. I will definitely be going back again for dinner

I'm a true cottonite from penrhyn rd. Almost 65 years old come July and believe it or not Tuesday 27th Feb was the first time I have ever been inside I knew the Bradshaw boys and Stephen perrett Southampton rd and Kevin Karen Tony and reg the father it was a marvelous nostalgia trip and am going Sunday lunch with.my son great menu and great prices a truly gem of a pub

Popped in on the second day of an epic Rugby tour throughout England and was not disappointed. Fireplace going in the bar, great crowd, perfect for a post-match pint and meal on a rainy night. Everyone was super friendly and they had great real ale on tap. Food was second to none, not your average pub food, I'm American but this was definitely the best fish and chips I've ever had, cheers to the chef. Will make it a point to stop here on my next trip through Northampton!

We are a regular visit to The Pom, Illuminated Kitchen provides amazing twists on pub classics. The pub garden is massive for a summer drink and the dinky pub has a lovely atmosphere all year around.

One of the best pubs in Northampton, great beer, good food, with a really nice garden

Great little pub, with a big atmosphere. We love going to the Pomfret. They serve great beer, and they are all very polite. The food is usually very good, however the one time we went for a Sunday roast, there was a large table and unfortunately the little pub could not handle more than 10 meals at once. We were left with a very small portion, which was not very tasty. However we so understand, they have a very small kitchen area, and we're busy with the large table which all ordered a Sunday roast with sides. My suggestion would be to phone ahead and book before you go with the meal you would like. All in all, it's an amazing place.

I recently visited The Pomfret Arms with high hopes after making a reservation a week in advance. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Despite being the only customers inside, the limited menu and poor communication left a lot to be desired. Upon arrival, we inquired about any missing items from the menu. To our surprise, we were informed that the only unavailable options were the pulled pork burger and the children's fish and chips. We proceeded to place our orders, only to discover that the available choices were quite limited. As a vegetarian, my only option was the veggie hotdog, which was disappointing considering the lack of variety. Although the food we received was decent, it wasn't what we had initially hoped for. The main issue was the poor communication throughout our visit. The lady, who appeared to be either the head chef or head waitress, seemed visibly annoyed with our inquiries and requests. This made us feel unwelcome and added to the overall negative experience. When it came time for dessert, we were once again met with disappointment. The restaurant did not have the chocolate mousse we desired. Strangely, the lady seemed delighted and even exclaimed "yay" when we decided not to order anything. This reaction struck us as odd and further contributed to our dissatisfaction. All in all, I regret to say that The Pomfret Arms did not provide the best dining experience. The limited menu options, coupled with the poor communication and the odd behaviour of the lady in charge, left us feeling unsatisfied. I hope the management takes note of these issues and takes steps to improve the overall customer experience in the future.

Booked 'The Barn' at The Pomfret Arms for a surprise party and it was great! Really cool venue that is big enough for plenty of people but also has a very small intimate feeling to it. The bar staff were amazing, the garden is a beautiful setting and the cocktail bar outside was delicious! I would definitely recommend the venue to anyone looking to book somewhere for a party.

This real ale pub served a great range of real ale and ciders on hand pump and the pub was excellent the beers were lovely the place was grand old fashioned styled and beer garden as picture shows on the pubs website I took today its brilliant but the beers are a tad expensive otherwise this pub would have got 5 stars

Have been many times over the past 3yrs and went for New Years Eve 22/23. Every visit has been smashing. Good selection of drinks, great bar staff, fantastic music, cosy indoor seating and incredible outdoor seatong/atmosphere for those lovely evenings. Theyve started doing busier DJ events in 2022 that are very popular and incredibly good. Well above the Northampton standard. My favourite pub in Northampton.

Good Sunday meal and it was no problem to cater for my dietary requirements. In particular gluten free.

Really wanted to visit the pubs direct website to view the menu. Unfortunately two different browsers (chrome and firefox) both return the site as untrusted and potentially unsafe. So three starts here as it is difficult to make a decision if to go for food or not when you can't see the menu beforehand. Update: After completing a bit of research I have discovered the following which may need to be adressed to fix the issue. "pomfretarms.co.uk uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 6 February 2022, 11:56:54 GMT."

Great staff who welcomed us plus cycle friendly so we were able to wheel our bikes through the bar out to cycle racks at the back. Great selection of ales and cider inc Phipps the one and only IPA. Friendly locals too!

I love the charm of the place, very cosy and plenty of outside chill areas. There's also a food bar, by the barn. Nice atmosphere, landlord's fun.... But whatever you do....don't get him started on ABBA....you'll never leave...unless there's another customer to serve...THEN...make a break for it!
