Me and my girlfriend and I had a lovely night here. The food was nice and very well priced, but I can't believe it's not busier.

Best indian I've had in a really long time. We came in late after traveling from the city and ended up missing majority of the open restaurants, but POB was open and absolutely delicious! The owner was lovely and had great conversation, it was definitely worth eating there.

I had chicken tikka masala, Tandoori chicken and Variety rice for my Dinner. To say, it was everything I needed at that moment. The vibe of the place, the view and the staff were absolutely amazing. A spot on for another visit and another with big parking space.

Disappointing. From ordering to service, 1hr 15 mins. And meals came out with 5 min intervals…used to love this place but will not be back, soory.

The owner has been here for years and is very accommodating and friendly, always puts a smile on my face when I walk through the door, great food too. Highly recommend for birthdays or just a nice quiet meal with a loved one.

Wow - from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Restaurant was clean and well set up. Service was quick and the food was very tasty. Waiter was excellent at explaining different dishes.

I am a regular customer with family and friends. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Very authentic reasonably priced food. Good sized portions and excellent service. Cosy atmosphere in the heart of the Cassiobury estate. Happy to recommend.

Could quality food lovely staff

Good thing about this restaurant is food is really tasty, I mean if you go any Indian restaurant in UK they all have very similar taste, But POB is different, It's not top of the word but it will satisfy your taste buds. Other good thing was staff, they all were very friendly and nice.

Excellent food at great value and the kindest service

Food is great with humble and welcoming owner/ head chef but service is terrible. We had to wait for more than one hour after ordering to get the starter on the table and for main course another 40 odd mins. The owner was very kind to let go off the charges for few extra items we had ordered though. He was quite understanding and really apologizing for the delayed services. Given that there were not many tables to serve we should have gotten much better service to be honest. Hope to see some improvements on our next visit

I went here after a Man City FA Cup win , so I was in high spirits! The value for money was good but it wasn't the nicest curry I have tasted and the location was a little bit outside of the town centre so it was quite quiet for a Saturday night.

Friendly staff, tasty food, reasonable prices. I especially enjoy their sizzling shashlik dishes. Even managed gulag jamon for desert!

We looked for best curry in town. Tried this restaurant, the food was Amazing. They really have the best curry in town. We gonna order from here every week😁. Also the manager call us to say we didn't order any side with lots of curry 😅we tell him we already have breed and he was so kind that gave us a free large rice. The best service👍

The takeaway was superb. Rice cooked to perfection and tasty. Vindaloo was very tasty and not extremely hot! they made madras chips! and there was a new curry on the menu that was delicious. Huge pieces of chicken. 20% off! They even gave me a good bottle of Merlot as I haven’t seen them for a while. I love this place! It’s reasonable and local to me.

One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. They kept us waiting for more than a hour after taking the order and we realised that they did not start preparing our order. We could hear the owner/manager was shouting in Hindi "ask them to leave if they are in hurry". We cancelled our order and left the restaurant. They should improve their basic manners and start respecting the customers.

We have been eating Indian food around Watford and P.O.B has the tastiest food. The food is full of flavour. Also the food is always fresh and delicious wether in the restaurant or takeaway. The restaurant is very welcoming with a great atmosphere.

Food was mediocre, it’s by far the worst Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. It took us an hour to get some service after telling 2 different staff that we were ready to order, even though the restaurant was basically empty. I asked for a bigger table before we even sat down but they refused to let us have it so they had to squeeze all the dishes on a tiny table with no room to eat.

The Prince of bengal is most definitely worthy of a visit, have been enjoying food which they produce for many years, a local place for me,... and have neglected it for a year or so (covid),... but I'm happy to report, they are as good as ever. The wife was happy, so there you go....

Ordered takeaway half an hour ago through Just Eat and just now received a text stating order cancelled. Rang restaurant to be told they had to cancel order as too busy ! Really🤷🏻‍♀️ … Hangry 😡

We were disappointed with the quality of the food. It wasn't terrible but neither was it great, there are better Indian restaurants in the area, so I probably wouldn't go back.

Was really hoping for a good find. Ordered food for collection and was very disappointed with the portion sizes. Containers are only half filled. The food was edible but not worth returning for.

Lovely quiet place with brilliant food

Excellent Saturday Buffet £9.90. Not too many choices which is a bonus for us as freshness is usually guaranteed. High praise for: The meat, bahjis and samosas were separated from the sauces so you can pour your choice of sauces over the meat. There is one meat dish and one vegetarian dish but we stuck to the separate meat/sauce method. Chicken and sausages were very real and very fresh and cooked to perfection. The greens were exquisite. Rice was simple and cooked perfectly. The Dahl was thick and tasty, for once it didn’t look like vomit. The papa-dons were freshly made. The choices of chutneys were vast and in abundance. Complimentary paratha bread, freshly baked. Cloth napkins. Hot towels at the end. Clean rest rooms. Complimentary aperitif. The owner was very friendly and we discussed ways for him to attract more business as the restaurant is not in a main toad but in a small parade of shops in a very residential area. You can’t go wrong with this buffet. Go there now!

We visited this restaurant a week ago for the first time. The food is fabulous - full of flavour but NOT full of ghee or other oils. A healthier, tastier version of delicious Indian food. My husband and I both say its the best Indian food we've ever had! Even the bombay aloo was incredibly tasty. Friendly helpful staff rounded off a VERY pleasant evening. WELL DONE POB!! We'll be seeing you very soon.

Service was very good, staff very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent, very nice spicy and good flavours. The mushroom rice had lots of mushrooms and was very nice. Best red wine we have had. Prawn purée was a treat 👍

Very friendly staff and great food.

Went yesterday and it was so bad, the starter wasn't cooked well. Ordered a prawn puri it came with chapati not puri. We had to leave as my baby was unsettled so we asked for our mains to be packed in a take away. Once we got home and opened our food the biryani was chicken and lamb curry mixed with rice. They also didn't give me a break down of my bill and charged £110 with discount!!!! We had to throw all the food in the bin as it tasted disgusting. I need to make an official compliant to correct authorities.

They get two stars as they did supply food unlike the Essex arms opposite. But beyond that it was an epic failure. The worst Indian I have ever had. Two hours to get food, we were the only ones in there... Food tasted disgusting. How do you get naan bread wrong?! AVOID

Chap had some difficulty with understanding our order and that we needed to be out of there at a particular time. My tea was cold before the milk arrived. If you have the whole evening then it would be good. The food was nice.

Just went here today, first time. I must say the service we received was outstanding. I came here with my family and we enjoyed everything. Please be patient with the waiter, he's elderly but very caring and compassionate. I came here with my girlfriend, mum, sister and brother and we never for once second felt uncomfortable. Tried alot of different dishes, some better than others but still left with lots of food and with full stomachs. Thumbs upppppp

This was voted best Indian in Watford 2018, if thats really the case, I won’t be trying Indian food in Watford again. The food was not fresh at all, the waiter even mentioned to us there were no lamb chops ready as they were in the freezer. We ended up ordering things we didn’t really want, but dishes you can’t really go wrong with, butter chicken and mixed grill. Oh how we were wrong! They gave us what tasted like an overly sweet korma with stale tasting chicken, didn’t even bother with the mixed grill after tasting a bite of the “tandoori” chicken as it was just a red coloured chicken marinated in water perhaps? The naan we ordered was too doughy, not cooked long enough and the bottom of it looked like someone stepped all over them with their ashy boots. All in all, we felt sick and had to fill up on the poppadoms they had on the table when we arrived, later to find out they weren’t complimentary and they even charge for the sauces! On top of all of the above, starters took 1 hour and mains an extra hour, with us being the ONLY customers in there for 2 hours! They didn’t have takeaways / deliveries either during that time, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Poor services food took so long to arrive for home delivery. the person who took the order got the address wrong and no apologies from them to say the delivery was to late..very very disappointed..will NOT order from them again.

AWFUL service, avoid this place. Ordered my food from Just Eat at 7:20pm and by 9:20pm the food had still not arrived. After 6 phone calls with the restaurant being told every time “our driver is 2 minutes away” they then cancel the order because I got annoyed with them on the phone. Absolute joke.

POB catered our family party of 30, they even supplied the cutlery and plates. Food was delicious and great value for money. Made my day stress free - Big thanks to the owner Saiful and his wife.

Shockingly bad main course in tonight's home delivery. Supposedly chicken tikka, lamb tikka and king prawns in a single dish. Actually no prawns, with a few pieces of potato standing in for them, a few lumps of sheek kebab instead of actual lamb and a sauce mostly composed of tomato with half a jar of sugar poured in. This for £8. As for the starter, three pieces of sheek kebab for £5 with, conversely, half a jar of salt poured in. I will never order from them again, and they deserve to go out of business on this showing.

If you need a tasty food I strongly recommend this restaurant. Every dish has it's own taste which is provided here. We will get a good service. Owner is very friendly and the staff is also good. I am sure that if you start eating once here, you will never go to other place for food. Good food makes you feel happy and satisfied. Prince of Bengal is the king of food. 🍧☕🍸🍗🍖🥘🍲🍤🍽️🥄🍴

Well to start with delivery arrived on time Friendly driver. The food itself was delicious. Couldn't reccomend more.

The waiter's were woundfull. I really enjoyed my birthday celebrations. They made my day. Such thoughtful people. And the food was tasty and reasonable prices.

Having recently dined at the POB - our first ever visit and despite Covid times - we were welcomed warmly. The Restaurant I consider is very Covid friendly. Staff wearing masks and Gloves and bottles of hand sanitiser on every table. Very Clean. The service was impeccable - the food excellent. We were celebrating a Friends Birthday and they bought out a cake after for the Birthday Recipient - that was a Fabulous finale touch. Thank You POB for a Lovely meal and Dining experience. We are sure to visit Again.

Had a really warm welcome from the staff, it was great because it wasn't crazy busy with loud music/people. Great place for a homely feel. The food took a little while but it was worth the wait. Thank you very much Shamim, Belal and Saif(Owner and chef), you guys are so caring and awesome, your smiling faces put more tests on our dinner. Can’t wait to visit again for having such delicious food😋

Amazing food customer service very nice

Really terrible - used to go here a while ago and was nice, but massively gone down hill when ordered today. We were sent somebody else's food , which they proceeded to collect after half an hour of sitting on our side (I hope it wasn't sent on given covid19 - I did explain this). Then when our food arrived (late) it was awful - oily , very thin sauces and mostly quite tasteless. Really disappointed - nothing like the standard they were at 2-3 years back. Shame.

Went in there at 7:30, left at 9:30 and only ordered 1 starter and 2 mains!!! So Slow!!!!

I have had a very good meal at this restaurant, the service was good and the food was lovely and a good varity and selection on the menu, nice music playing in the background. Well done!

My on/off love affair with the POB has finally ended, which is a shame as it is my local. The good stuff: their food is fresh and not greasy which is why they have their 2 stars. Their tandoori has never been the best, but I am a lover of dhansaks. They used to make the best dhansak around (in my opinion) but every now and again, you would notice when a different chef was used, so I would try other locals but always ended up back at POB. Recently their dhansak had gone off point again, so I switched to Mint, and was quite happy (although their delivery times were variable). This week we had friends coming round so placed a larger order. Very disappointed. The vegetable dishes had changed from previously and were not particularly tasty, but my biggest concern (they are not cheap anyway) is that all the take away container sizes had been halved and so portions were much smaller (see attached picture comparing the size a few weeks ago to current) which left us all quite hungry. No price adjustment or warning. Sorry guys, but with the cooking changing and much smaller portions, I was very disappointed and so will take custom elsewhere.

First thing you notice when entering is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Then you are met with the most friendly staff. Most importantly, then, you are served with very delicious food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant without any hesitation.

Seriously? If you could get -5 star you would get it. I’ve smelled and seen more appetising dog food then this. Worse service ever! We ordered and got completely the wrong food. Not a problem if you rectified it. No you decided to just add stuff to our food and pretend everything was ok. The lamb tasted like baby food. The fish tasted like bird food. The lamb? Let’s just say it did not taste like lamb. Tamarind sauce was amazing and so was the cobra beer. Well done for not messing that up. On a serious note close your restaurant And turn in to a corner shop. At least a mars bar will taste like a mars bar not a bounty. Seriously good luck!!!!!

Food is good, service is always a little slow and a bit confused. But handling a covid-world reasonably well.

Great food at great prices. Table service was clean and followed social distancing. Would recommend if your missing that curry house vibe!

JUST AWFULL SORRY BUT THIS WAS THE WORST MEAL EVER DELIVERED BY DELIVEROO AND MADE BY POJ. FOOD WAS GROSSLY OVER COOKED, RICE CONTAINED MAINLY.MUSHROOM STALKS, SHASHLIK WAS STODGY WITH UNCOOKED PASTE AND ROUGH ENDS OF PEPPERS AND ONION USED TO PREPARE. CHICKEN WAS OVERCOOKED,DRYAND COLD. MINT DIP WAS CHOKING ON DRIED MINT AND WAS VERY POWERFULL. SORRY NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER, NO WONDER THEY DON'T SEEK CUSTOMER REVIEWS. NEVER EVER AGAIN SORRY POJ
