Very expensive, ordered cream teas, plain crumbly scones, came in a box had to use serviettes as plates thin wooden disposable knife to attempt to cut it, tea in a disposable cup, which you had to dispose of yourself, no atmosphere at all, more like a truck stop cafe than the lovely cafe it was last summer, shame.

What an absolute unexpected gem of a cafe! You might think of a beach cafe as packaged ice creams and greasy chips…the Plwmp Tart couldn’t be further from that! During our two week holiday, we visited 3 times! The staff were delightful, so much so that on our final visit, the lovely lady behind the counter asked our little boy if she could give him a hug to say bye. Adorable! The plum frangipane tarts are to die for! Properly incredible! They wouldn’t be out of place in a high-end patisserie. On the day we left, we called in specially to buy some plum tarts to bring home with us! We also had great coffee, smoothies, filled baguettes, crab roll, sausage roll, amazing cakes…all just brilliant! We will be back! Well done Plwmp Tart…you’re awesome!

My partner and I stopped for lunch after a walk on the beach. Ok food but expensive and NO healthy options. All bread products were white and no gluten free options. Not sure if there were any vegan options either. Hot chocolate was barely warm too. Sadly they have a captive audience so there are only two options, have it or don't!

Good food but on the expensive side for what it was. The service was very dissapointing. We had been advised prior to the start of our walk that they were open until 17.00. When we got there with at least half an hour to spare there was little in the way of food and extremely slow service even though there were free staff in the kitchen. Very eager to shut up shop! Started closing up whilst we still sat there.

Lovely cream tea in a super spot near to Penbryn beach. We took our dog; the cafe provides fresh water for dogs and they even sell ice cream specially for dogs. We also treated ourselves to ice cream. It was a shame that the food and drink were packaged in cardboard cups and boxes; not very sustainable. We assumed they were busy and so had decided it would be quicker.

We were going to the beach and just popped in for drinks. Coffees for three of us and a can of orange juice for the fourth one. Service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a hurry and sat outside chatting. When the coffees arrived, they were gorgeous and so wonderfully creamy which made the wait worthwhile. We didn’t eat, as we’d had a filling breakfast, but the menu is all you’d want for a light lunch with homemade soup, salad, baguettes, quiches and the most mouthwatering array of homemade cakes and pastries. I’m still not sure how I resisted one of the scones!! All in all, it’s a lovely stop-off point on the way to or from the beach and, with outdoor seating, it’s doggy friendly too.

We had an amazing experience at the Plwmp Tart! We had delicious hot drinks and snacks, but above all the customer service was exemplary. We lost our car keys and the staff could not have been more kind or helpful, not only helping in the search but providing shelter and care for my son and dog even providing a towel to dry him and offering food and drink whilst we searched the beach for the keys. It restored our faith in humanity. We are TRULY grateful. Your customer service went above and beyond. I am happy to say we found the keys and are now on our way home. A lovely little cafe with friendly and helpful staff. We visited when Covid restrictions meant that all food had to be take away but the sandwiches and scones were lovely and I am sure that all food normally served there would have been just as good. It's easy to find if you are heading to Penbryn but otherwise it's really out of the way so I'm pleased we were able to support this little enterprise.

Gorgeous, truly gorgeous food and coffee. However the car park is run by The National Trust. £4.00 just to park, OK it's a good cause. Facility to scan your NT membership but not your debit card. OK you can use your phone to pay but there's no internet in this beautiful but remote place. The Plwmp Tart must lose an awful lot of business and get negative reviews left by people who have nothing negative to say about the quality of the truly scrumptious food.

Wanted a late lunch after a morning at the beach. Waited about 10 mins for a table and were warned about the resident wasps but as we were hungry did not deter us! Husband raved about his ham panini. My crab salad was good but did get a couple of sharp bones. Kids liked their scones but were a bit stressed with the wasps we did our best to fend them off! A lot of the cakes had run out but the bakewell cake and cheesecake brownie we had were delicious and kids enjoyed their ice cream. There is a compulsory 12.5% service charge for tables at the moment which was fine for us having lunch but may be worth factoring in if you were just having drinks. There is a takeaway window option instead for ice cream, drinks and light bites and that seemed very popular and quick.

The beach parking is right next to the Plwmp Tart and so it's natural to head off to the beach in the morning and pop back up after some surfing. (The walk is very uphill on the way back. Excellent wholesome food. Not the cheapest but very much better than most of the pub grub stuff you find close to beaches. Order at the counter and grab a seat. Perfect pit stop for Penbryn beach walk and great cakes! We stopped to work here and have coffee for a couple of hours before going to watch the sunset on the beach. Lovely little cafe

We were lucky to catch this little gem as it reopened after the winter. With time to kill after a dog walk and whilst the car charged, we thought we'd try them out. Weren't expecting much to be honest since there's no competition but we were pleasantly surprised. Hit by the warmth from the wood burner as you enter, the scene is set for a comfy, cosy cuppa. Hubby had a "really good" latte (& he's hard to please) and I had a pot of tea from a quaint China tea pot. Kitch, mismatched plates add to the feel of the place (weren't cracked or chipped which is a bugbear of mine) but on them were the star of the show- delicious cakes! We had the blueberry cake & the coffee cake but were spoilt for choice. Also made mental note of the ice cream counter for future ref. Impressed.

We went for a nice 3 mile walk along the cliff tops & started & finished at the cafe. Obviously this is very popular as the car park was packed, mostly with walkers. Had to have lunch & the girls had soup & the boys had toasted sarnies. An excellent lunch washed down with a nice cup of tea. They had a great choice of cakes which we had to decline. The service was excellent & this is a great place to start/stop. The surrounding scenery was fantastic.

Lovely fresh food, able to cater for both vegetarian and gluten free. The chef came out to speak to us about our order and we felt looked after

We went for Sunday lunch. There was Pork loin or Beef to choose from. We chose pork and it was lovely. There were 7 side vegetables, all beautifully cooked also Apple sauce and gravy. For desert there was a large choice. I chose the home made meringues with summer fruits and whipped cream. The meringues were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They were beautiful as they were not too sweet and the fruit and cream complemented the meringues very well. My husband chose the home made apple flan with ice cream and that was also very much enjoyed. The staff are very welcoming and we will certainly be back. Thank you.

Came for Sunday lunch on 3rd November and the food and service was outstanding. We had 3 courses and each course was lovely. The beef and salmon were perfectly cooked and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The atmosphere was great and we’re looking forward to our next visit very very soon.

The View certainly has the Wow Factor! From the comfortable, modern vibe to the fabulous hosting, Lorraine with her team made our Sunday lunchtime ( and Friday coffees) an absolute pleasure. It really did feel like the customer’s needs were at the heart of what is offered. The carvery totally reached the spot with a very reasonable price tag. What more could we have hoped for. Thank you x
