Fantastic little pub. The owners are lovely and it felt like we had known them for years and the atmosphere here second to none. Will definitely be going back. Love the fact it has a Armed Forces atmosphere about it.

Christmas eve drinks time and decided to call here, having not been in for a couple of years and now under new management. It was great to see that the place had been decorated from top to bottom, it was getting very tired. Service was OK, if a little unenthusiastic but the door security was totally unnecessary based on the few people who were actually in the pub. Now for the important thing- the beer- 3 ales on the bar, including one of my favourites, salopian Shropshire gold, it was not good- undertones of sour milk springs to mind. So it was 1 pint (half of which was left on the table) and back down to the pheasant for some quality ale. I doubt that I will bother calling in again.

Avoid. Just been in for a pint and was greeted by the rudest most ignorant barmaid I've ever met. Unless you're a regular, don't bother.

Great pub just on the outskirts of town. They raise a huge amount of money for various charities and its a very welcoming pub. Nice landlord, and friendly staff. Worth popping in if you want a drink. Parking is probably best by the church which is next door as there isn't a lot on the premises

My first visit with a special lady and found it a very lively little gem with an unbelievably friendly atmosphere, definitely recommend this pub and will definitely be going again

Amazing pub, Great staff and friendly customers. Beer prices very good. Also every thing the do for veterans charity. And can’t forget the Easter eggs and selection box’s that they give to various places like seven hospice, local hospital and care homes to name a few

Amazing pub, not only for the quality pint but wow the work this place has done for Help for Hero's is outstanding. Never got to meet the landlord but he was highly spoken of by everyone in the pub I spoke to and to people in and around the town.

Unwelcoming. Walked to the bar and the bar staff were all on their phones by the till and didn’t look up or say anything, looked annoyed they had to serve us. As soon as the wowan had served us she went straight back to her phone. So rude. Bad atmosphere now compared with how it used to be. Seems to have been taken over by very rude and grumpy people

I delivered some items for a charity appeal to this location and entered on a weekday around 4:30pm. There were plenty of people in here and it seemed lively enough for a local pub. I didn't stop so cannot comment further - only to say that the staff were friendly and the customers (several males) came to help me unload my car (which was very kind of them). If I wanted a drink and was passing I wouldn't mind dropping in.

Bit quiet but I don't mind that. Pool table is a bit of a laugh, the balls do circles ha ha. Had a sing and got very drunk so a good night.

Great pub with extended hours and a landlord who has principals and a great heart. A pub which raises lots of money for different charities including help the hero's. For the atmosphere, I would say worth a visit and for the causes, I would please support, when you get a chance.

I like the pub but it tends to be "same old same old" pub quiz nights and kareoke. It's the locals that keeps going really. Disco and live bands please!
