I order from here just for their tandoori chicken kebabs, it's sooooo tasty, hot and fresh😍

First time of going to this chip shop, ordered everything fresh...overcooked burger, bun stale, chips cold and fish was ok, lady was polite, but felt unclean. Definitely not going again, burger, partner could bite into...

Great chippy this is. In my top 3 chippy in Crewe. The fish are like baby whales, and the chips' portion is massive. Well worth a visit. Lovely couple who own the Plaice also.

Decided to try somewhere new for our fish and chip treat - and were not disappointed!! We are a bit picky in our house, but we were so pleased with our food. Piping hot, really tasty. Portions were just right also. The only tiny tiny thing, and this is just a personal opinion, the mushy peas were quite runny and had a slightly odd taste. Didn’t stop me enjoying my food though - again, just a personal taste. Will definitely be using again. Also a nice polite driver. Something you don’t always get from some just eat deliveries!

Maybe it's a "Crewe" thing. But I expect the fish and chips to have some colour on them. Only had fish and chips, which while cooked fresh to order, was barely cooked. The batter was white, as we're the chips. Definitely not even remotely worth the money...

1st time amazing. 2nd time hair in food. Will never return again. Wish i could get the £15 refund for the kebabs.

Possibly the greatest chip shop I’ve ever been to in my life! Having travelled up and down the country for work, I have eaten at a lot of chip shops and met some incredible shop owners with some incredible food… not of that comes close to The Plaice, a lovely conversation while your food is cooked fresh in front of you really settles the score here and then when you get home and dig into you food, well the words escape me! Amazing and friendly service with top tier food, if i could give 6 stars I really would.

Ive been using this chippy for over 20 years and it has had the same owners in all that time at least, great service and the food never dissapoints

Have ordered from The Plaice before, but not had fish. This time I had Plaice in Breadcrumbs with chips 'n' cheese. Also ordered a Sausage in Batter with small Chips. On the whole it was okay. The Plaice was the most expensive ~£4.70 ~ and I was really looking forward to it. However, although it looked okay, it was very hard. Obviously it had been overcooked by leaving in the fryer too long. Plaice is a delicate fish and should be cooked slow and gentle. It was so hard, I could only eat the middle of the fish. Very unhappy and disappointed about it. Something that is an expensive item, should be cooked more carefully.

Everyone is so nice there ! Customer service is fantastic! Food is fantastic! I highly recommend to everyone they have been in business for like 22 yrs and well done to them all as a family! Good luck to the future for them !!!!!

Just had a delivery and I have to say it was the best fish and chips I’ve had for a long time, it was piping hot too and only took about 10 mins to arrive, the fish was thick and juicy and the gravy was the nicest chippy gravy I’ve had, i will definitely be ordering again.

The plaice is my favourite chippy in Crewe. Me and my pal used to go more frequently than we do now and we always get cheesy chips and onion rings. Both the quality and quantity of cheese on the chips exceeded my expectations. The onion rings are crispy and salty, just as god intended. The workers are always so kind, efficient and loving- the plaice is very clean and I feel very safe inside. I highly recommend this chippy 10/10 I will miss it when I move soon :( peace and love

I've been getting ma fish suppers fae here fae sixteen years now. The food is always perfect, even ma lightly battered fish. However, the family who run it are genuinely lovely and they're the main reason ma family and I have always returned. Exceptional food and better service!

Best traditional chippy in the Crewe area bar none, everything cooked to order, and the kebabs are to die for, donner or chicken. I'm not generally a kebab fan, but these are amazing, I have one every week now, and will never get one from anywhere else. Staff are lovely too
