very good nights have been had at the pizza loft. Good atmosphere and good food. Sadly the place has had to close for good on Saturday 13th August 2022 as the restaurant room is required back by Lings cycle shop. Very sad news.

Sislaws 50th Birthday, except for getting there an hour too early (thank god I had my own wine) I had a really good time. Garlic bread could have been a bit more buttery (was dry), but tasted ok. However the pizza was bloomin yummy. Service was very good atmosphere was great. If the garlic bread was more buttery it would have been 5 stars. Hopefully i will return as I very much enjoyed the pizza. Didnt realise they also do takeaway.

Okay, we were there on a busy night. But I can't believe their pizza's vary by that much. First, they are very thin (which is normally okay) but they were like eating cardboard,- hard & tasteless. not a delicious chewy flatbready type of crust you expect from a thin crust pizza. Second, it was overloaded with cheese. Too much- so much that it was greasy with cheese and if there was tomato sauce on the pizza it was well hidden. Not the worst I've ever had, but close. I took half of my pie home & tossed it in the bin.

The ham pizza I had was awful, soaking wet in the middle and the ham was like plastic . We were sat by the window, the frame glass and the ledge was dirty .. if they can't keep the front of house clean.. what hope is the for the kitchen ? It was noisy , people bring their own booze and get drunk making a lot of noise... you can bring your own booze but NOT soft drinks which you have to buy .. won't be returning.

This place definitely comes under the category of "Hidden Gem". Having lived in Ipswich all my life I had no idea this place even existed. A small upstairs conversion above the motorcycle shop, which has the look of a real Italian pizzeria. The food has a very honest home cooked feel about it and is rustic in nature. Simple menu and very well priced. I will go back here again

Friendly chef/owner and good pizza. Garlic bread arrived - unordered - soon after we sat down. We ordered a pizza each and shared a massive salad. We'd only been once before - eight months earlier - but owner remembered us. Too full for dessert, but sounded good! Only open Thursday to Saturday. Unlicensed so bring your own beer/wine if you want a drink. Soft drinks are available. And bring cash - they don't take card payments.

I've been a regular here for 15 years and it is by far the best pizza restaurant in town. Situated slightly off the beaten track on the outskirts of Ipswich, there are still many people I converse with who haven't heard of this place. If you are in this category, you need to get yourself down there. I would describe it as a cosy, rustic Italian restaurant, which really makes you feel as though you're in the homeland. The pizza is authentic Italian, therefore don't expect to find 'stuffed crust' or 'meat feast' (who invented these anyway?!). If you have holiday blues from visiting Italy and enjoying the cuisine, or you simply enjoy pizza, I promise you, it won't disappoint. If pizza isn't your thing, there is also an option to have some specialty pasta dishes. A marvellous Lasagne and Spaghetti Bolognese are available. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly, as is the owner and chef himself, Giampaolo. Ensure to book in advance if you can, as it is very popular and the restaurant does tend to fill out. So what happens when you call up and it's fully booked? Go elsewhere? Absolutely not; you can take advantage of the take-away service. Take-aways are collection only, though.

There was no atmosphere, no nice background music. More importantly, the place is filthy. The backs of the chairs thick with dust, the windowsill dirty, mound round the edges of the window with a grimy piece of wooden trellis leaning against it. And “chilli” fairy lights so grimy I had to tell my granddaughter not to touch. It looks like it’s not been decorated since opening, nor cleaned in quite some time. If where the customers have to dine is so bad, what standards in the kitchen? My pizza had hardly any topping and was very “sloppy”. It seemed quite expensive for what was very average food and I will definitely not go back. Who wants to pay £12 for a pizza and sit in filth!

The pizza loft had been recommended and did not disappoint on a Friday evening. Cosy, rustic ambience that seemed straight out of a Tuscan village complemented simple but very tasty pizzas - true Italian style rather than the mass market, Americanised chains that promise much but fall short. Take your own wine / beer (but not soft drinks as these are sold in house) and step into a unique gastric experience in Ipswich. Enjoy!

I had an amazing meal there with my boyfriend, I walked in and could see lumps of dough in a box left to rise in the warmth. As soon as we sat down they brought us complimentary garlic bread and you could taste how fresh it was. Then we had the brussecta on the homemade bread and the tomatoes were lovely and fresh and the bread was toasted just right, not dry at all. Then I had the margarita pizza and for the price(£7.50) it was huge and delicious, proper mozzarella and beautiful tomato sauce, pizzas were so big we couldnt finish them so got the remainder as take away. I made sure my boyfriend and I left a huge tip as the food was so fresh and so fast coming out, best pizza I've had hands down. Can't buy alcohol there but they encourage you to bring your own alcohol which actually saves you money and when we asked for a can of sprite as a mixer the chef told us to have it for free as we give a generous tip and he came out and thanked us personally, an amazing night.

This looks unassuming as it is situated above a motorcycle shop. It is a tiny place and often fully booked so plan ahead. However, this is because it is wonderful! A small but really tasty menu - everything you need is right there. The Spaghetti Bolognese is authentic and the pizzas cooked right there to order - real Italian home cooking! It's like being on holiday and the decor seems to reflect that - you feel like it's a warm balmy evening abroad. They couldn't be more attentive. I have been here a few times now as it is just down the road from me. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries or just gone for good honest homemade pizza!the gentleman who runs this business pretty much does so single handed and apart from the young kids that are the waiting staff he is pretty much a one man band in the kitchen. Yes the place could do with a little revamp but I don't go to the Pizza loft for the aesthetics, I go for great service and lovely home cooked pizza. You can indeed take your alcohol and I believe you can only pay cash, but I have not witnessed any rowdy behaviour because of this. It is family run and it shows, in the food and the way you are greeted and served.

Pizza Loft is almost on my doorstep and makes it easy for a simple supper out. The venue is not particularly sophisticated, more simple and rustic. The menu too is very simple with straight forward Italian pizza, some pasta dishes (these are not always written on the menu so make sure you ask what is available) and tiramisu to die for. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff very friendly. A charming place to visit or arrange a take away.

Overall it was disappointing..The overall impression was the place could do with a bit of a fresh paint..the waiter was friendly and helpful .. service was quite quick In was busy and I think popular because you can bring you're own alcohol.. most tables were loaded with cans of beer and bottles of wine.. so it makes a cheap night out for those who drink with their meal.. We don't drink alcohol, but you are not allowed to bring you're own soft drinks... which is a bit unfair.. ... a can of Coke at £2 is expensive.. my Ham and Mushroom Pizza was overloaded with cheap ham,, the base was damp.. I left half of it .. I would rather have less but better quality ham. My wife had pepperoni which looked good.. she enjoyed it My daughter had the same as me and left half of it We were offered a box to take home the left-over pizza .. very thoughtful. For three mediocre pizzas and soft drinks is was not cheap.. I don't mind paying but didn't think this meal was worth £30..

Visited the Pizza Loft for the first time last night.Didn't book for a table at 8pm on a Friday and got a table straight away which is good. I think the charm about the Pizza Loft is that you feel 'a bit naughty' eating there. You take your booze in a plastic bag and drink from the kitsch little glasses on the table. There's only about 8 tables in the restaurant. It has the feel of a quaint tea room or that someone has created a small illegal Italian restaurant in their upstairs. Its a bit 'too cool for school' the waiters are so laid back that you almost don't know what you should be doing, asking to be served, waiting for them to come to you.So the food is great. Pizzas are superb and authentic. Beautifully cooked. But I think it's the experience you are buying into here. It's more than the food.Highly recommended for the 'fun' yet 'slightly odd' element. Will return.

When you initially see this place, to be honest, it looks a bit dodgy. It's above a motorbike dealership and it feels like you're entering your garage upon entering. There isn't any dedicated parking available but you can park on the streets. You open the door, walk up the stairs and enter the dining room. It looks and feels like you're at home - a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. It's as if you're stepping in to your friends' dining room which I think is quite unique as I have yet to experience that anywhere else in an Ipswich restaurant. Although this place is quite small, its warm, welcoming and I didn't feel cramped at any point. We were given complimentary garlic bread pizza and the menus to browse. The main reason why I have not awarded a higher rating to this place is because the menu choice is quite small. They did not have any pizzas which had chicken on them and so I did ask if I could have that as an extra topping but they were not offering it. However, service was extremely friendly and speedy. If you enjoy simple, light, yet freshly prepared pizzas with quality ingredients at a very good price point, I would recommend this place to you.I believe it can be difficult to find a pizza that is flavoursome, isn't stuffed with grease and is great value for money - this place offers just that. I will be back.

This place reminds me off my visit to Italy, it isn't fancy looking or glamorous, its a quaint, quite small room above a shop which focusses on serving excellent, traditional pizza (and what more would you want). The pizza's on the menu are basic, although you can add more toppings but I wouldn't as the simple flavours are delicious! The 3 times we have been, they have brought out complimentary garlic bread as we sat down too. We were a big party and it is a bit of a tight squeeze- very small restaurant but that was no real problem. Bring your own drink which was great, corkscrew and glasses provided. We were brought out complimentary garlic and cheesey garlic bread which was nice. However the pizza's were very VERY salty. My friend had an anchovy and caper pizza and none of the ingredients tasted very 'fresh'. I expected (had high hopes I suppose) of real fresh proscuttio on my Rustica pizza but it was just salty slices of ham and really didn't taste great. We had a selection of different pizzas between us and all found them all to be too salty. Would not come back to this place even despite the free tiramisu. Two portions of garlic bread were brought out complimentary with I thought was a very nice touch and we then enjoyed some bruschetta as a starter was very nice and then had a pizza each. The calzone in particular was very impressive and several of us struggled to finish ours. Sadly we had no room for any deserts but the ones that came out to other tables looked very nice. As others have mentioned despite there only being pizza on the menu other tables ordered lasagne which they seemed to make without question. The restaurant is only very small so I would recommend booking but we found it to be a nice relaxed atmosphere and being able to bring your own alcohol made it a very cheap night out. Authentic pizza is wonderful and its nice to be able to bring your own drink. We will come again for the relaxed feel and fabulous tiramisu. I would reserve a table to avoid disappointment as its not a huge restaurant.

Wow looks can be deceiving at this cosy pizza restaurant. The food was very authentic and fantastic - huge pizzas and great service if you have the salad you will want to share as its massive!! Just remember to bring your own alcohol as they only serve soft drinks. I've it a go as you will be impressed.

Our first visit. Won't be our last. The best pizza I've eaten in Ipswich, by far. Two large pizzas, a small pizza (which was still enormous) and a salad for 4 to share - £25! Would suggest painting the whole place nice and bright and getting some benches instead of the chairs - it's very cosy - but despite that it's worth a visit.

the pizza here is very different to the chain restaurant pizza experience available elsewhere in Ipswich. it tastes fresh and I loved my anchovy, caper and chilli pizza and my tomato, caper and garlic bruschetta rustica. I should say that one of my party didn't enjoy their normal bruschetta and their pizza had a topping wrong. but everyone else really enjoyed it. so almost 5 out of 5 Pizza Loft but not quite. its really great inside the restaurant, very small and definitely cosy but having the kitchen right there and being in the middle of the 'suburbs' is a welcome change from being in the busy town centre. ill be going back to try the tiramisu!

It goes to show that a small independent business can give ou the best food and not be part of a big chain

A lovely snug family run pizzeria. A small menu, but enough choice, all homemade, with fresh ingredients. This little restaurant has a rustic theme, you feel like you could be in Italy. take your own wine or beer as they don't have a licence to sell alcohol. Soft drinks however must be bought on the premises.Limited opening times, so booking essential. We will be returning soon!!Takeaway also available!!

No licence here so take your own booze. It's all very laid back but the food is wonderful. If you would like something that's not on the menu, call them a couple of days before and he will arrange it. Within reason! Not expensive either. If you haven't been - try it! I reckon you'll love it. But remember - it's nothing posh!

This is a small restaurant of 28 covers above Lings motor cycle shop on Foxhall Road. No website, no license so take your own booze if you wish but you have to buy your soft drinks there and they only take cash. It is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Doesn't look much from the outside but inside is cosy with a nice, friendly atmosphere. The food is great - if I have had a better pizza I don't know where. Beware though, you need to be hungry as they're huge - the owner is a really nice guy who commented that he doesn't do small portions! Great value for money and he also gave us a complimentary plate of garlic bread to start which was very kind but it will be three days before we need to eat again. Marvellous!

There are not enough seats, but really nice pizza. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Our domino's chicken mushroom and sweetcorn pizza was a BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. It was a 13.5 size and I have had more chicken on a buffalo wing than there was on this pizza. In fact everything was scarce except for the overpowering sauce. This is our 1st order from Domino's. - we will not be ordering from them again

Not from the area but the worst pizza we have eaten. £50 + for 3 pizzas and a few side and everything ( apart from the chicken ) was terrible. Delivered the wrong drink and forgot a pizza upon delivery. They did bring the missing item 15mins later. 3/4 of the food is left ! Terrible.
