One of my absolute favourite hotels and restaurant that is local to me . I have been in numerous times for food , drinks , beauty treatments and always come away feeling fantastic. The home grown food is delicious and the staff are always working hard to give outstanding service , even though they are rushed off their feet, nothing is ever too much trouble. It's a beautiful environment and atmosphere

We stayed at another Pig hotel in Brokenhurst a few years ago Beautiful experience... and once again in Bath it is confirmed if you want to live an informal English style experience but with an excellent standard, the Pig Hotel is definitely the right place

What can we say about the team at the Pig that isn’t stacked with praise? Their care and attention makes you feel like you’re staying with old friends, from the minute we stepped through the door to the moment we left we felt welcomed, valued, cared for and appreciated and that last one is what we feel in spades for the team here, appreciation. Special mentions for Tori whose warm welcome and generosity kicked our trip into the stratosphere, and Jack the sommelier who’s enthusiasm and knowledge for wine was infectious and fascinating and may have led to a new found addiction to certain dessert wines! All this and we’ve not even mentioned the fantastic room, the lovely public spaces, the most incredible kitchen garden or, most critically, the simply incredible food. Stay here, you will not be disappointed!

The hotel is very beautiful, surrounded by stunning nature. Although there are no pigs around, it's still quite enjoyable without them. The dinner at the restaurant was excellent, with delicious food beautifully presented. The rooms are also lovely. In the rooms classical music plays softly, and there are tea bags left on the pillows for the night. It's absolutely charming.

Been going here for several years now & love it. Beautiful, relaxing surroundings & the food is excellent. The wine list has a huge amount of choice & the staff are very attentive & work very hard. The customer service is very good indeed & I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Totally awful service and huge disappointment. We visit the Pig as an annual treat in different locations. Totally advise you to avoid this one. We got our table 30 minutes late. The service was totally awful and our main courses arrived and went cold by the time the sides arrived 12 minutes later. The taxis are very difficult and expensive to get from Bath and we had a deadline of 10pm so even had to cut our deserts. A huge disappointment and frustrating experience.

Setting was beautiful. Service appalling. Think it took an hour and us asking 4 times before we got a drink. Food was fine. Not good enough to justify prices. My friends chicken was raw. They did refund her but initially disputed it.

My fiance and I had a gorgeous lunch at the restaurant. We both have several dietary requirements between us and the staff (special shout out to Jude, Macey, Grace and Basty!) were super kind, patient and accommodating. You can really taste the difference in their home grown veggies and herbs. My favourite dish was the most exquisite dark chocolate mousse with a rich shortbread biscuit! The chef had specially made it vegan and gluten free for me and I am super grateful (well worth the insulin spike!) Thank you so much for going out of your way for us to have such a lovely lunch. We look forward to our next visit. If you have any dietary requests just let them know in advance and you're in for an absolute treat :)

Once we eventually parked we were met with poor service, 50 minutes to be given water which was then charged at £3 on our bill. Our drinks took 30 minutes and our food was very lack lustre and very overpriced. It's not cool to add on 12.5% service charge. The gardens are beautiful but trust me there are better places to eat in the area. Pony & Trap, The Litton or any of the Butcombe pubs. I can't comment on the rooms, but the toilets smelt and were dirty.

My parents held a celebration here for 18 people in one of the private dining areas. The service from all the staff we encountered was excellent. They were always happy to help despite it being a very busy Sunday afternoon! All the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. A perfect place for a celebration!

Beautiful room, with a beautiful garden and atmosphere. However, over charged twice in less than a 24 hour stay. I can't say it was very relaxing to wake up to somebody else's bar tab.

Overall a great experience, got given this as a wedding gift and we loved it. The setting, grounds and garden are incredible! The staff are lovely. The food in the restaurant is pricey but good (I think if you grow your own stuff you have to charge a lot else it's not viable). The dinner menu was great with good meat, fish and veg options. The breakfast was tasty too but it was exactly how you imagine. The whole of the United kingdom only seems to have two options for breakfast (full English, or eggs 5 different ways with sourdough) with the usual fanfare of cereal and juice alongside it. The restaurant was busy and so they gave us an extra dish for free as the food was delayed. We went for a walk in the garden while we waited and then a member of staff came to get us when the food was ready which was very kind of them. The rooms are nice but like many old English hotels they are a bit tired. Due to archaic design and weird health and safety laws the windows only open 2 inches. So lovely summer weather makes the gardens a great place to be but the rooms unbearable to sleep in. They give you a fan which is okay but nowhere near good enough to handle a 27 degree day. None of these hotel owners will ever put in air conditioning (but they'll massively ramp up the room price during the summer). Its a bit silly that if you go anywhere else in Europe you could pay half the price and sleep a lot better. Again a uniquely UK problem that none of these hotels want to fix. The bathrooms and shower are good though, seems to be the one thing they keep updated. The TVs are smart TVs but they didn't bother connecting them to the WiFi and downloading netflix/prime (all of which would be free). They rely on aerial which means many channels get randomly scrambled picture or lose audio frequently. The electric car charging point (there are only three) costs £75 for a full charge on our car which is more than petrol costs, a bit ridiculous seeing as it costs £20 to charge it at home. Great margin theyre making there. When we arrived at 7pm to check in there wasn't enough parking for all hotel and restaurant guests. I got a space by squeezing between some construction equipment in what I think was an overflow carpark but maybe I wasn't meant to be there. Hard to know but I had no other choice. Overall a lovely experience but you'd expect better at this price tag .

My wife and I decided to book a last-minute Sunday afternoon dinner at The Pig. Most of the Chew Valley restaurants in the local area were either closed or fully booked yesterday. Pros: Beautiful setting, location and ambience. Folk group playing in the afternoon sunshine. Cons: Bland, uninspiring, overpriced food. Painfully slow service (despite an abundance of staff). We won't be returning, sadly.

We had lunch on a Wednesday. On the whole the food was lovely but the starter of hot brie was definitely not worth the money. £13 for two small strips of Foccacia and a small spread of Brie with lots of Chilli flakes. It was hot as in spicy hot not temperature. We both had lamb for a main course which was lovely along with roasted beetroot and new potatoes. There were not any desserts we fancied so went for the piggy fours with coffee and they were exceptional. The surroundings and relaxed ambience were special. As it was warm weather we were able to enjoy our coffee in the grounds. We have been to the Pig in Brockenhurst and had an amazing experience this was before the group of restaurants was sold. This was on a par with that other than there were no Specials on the menu and of course the prices have increased. Hopefully things will not change too much more.

This was such a special stay at the Pig. I came with a group of friends to celebrate my 30th and it was perfect. The staff were so friendly and kind, we got a free upgrade and the kitchen garden was lovely to explore. I couldn't recommend this enough, it was a perfect weekend.

Typical example of a Pig with great communal areas and restaurant serving garden produce. However bedrooms are looking a bit tired now and they’ve switched the EV charging to PodPoint which is expensive and cumbersome. Good walks are advertised from the Hotel - which bounds a public footpath. But they make you walk back along the drive and half a mile along the road to get to the footpath. Their boundary has to be protected by deer proof fencing - so we can enjoy the greens and herbs. The interesting conflicts of modern life….

Lovely hotel nestled in the country side. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff are all very welcoming and helpful, they go out of their way to ensure that you have a great stay. The potting shed staff also deserve a special mention providing a relaxing environment. The hotel has a wonderful kitchen garden where you can sit and relax/chat with the gardeners. The restaurant and breakfast room is very relaxing and the food extremely nice. A great stay in a beautiful location.

Restaurant and hotel outside Bath. Eat here on Thursday evening, we hadn't booked but we're well greeted and a table found. Interesting selection of small bites which we enjoyed sampling. Great staff who seemed to enjoy their work. Quality of ingredients and cooking good. Heavy on salt here and there. Great evening with nice ambience. To be repeated.

My partner and I stayed here for my 30th birthday this weekend and it was incredible. We were upgraded to the Gardeners Cottage which was a lovely gesture from the hotel. The room was incredible and overlooked the stunning gardens. They leave a torch in the room so we were able to walk around the grounds at night and see all the animals. The grounds of this place are absolutely incredible. The staff could not do enough for you. They were so attentive and are a real asset to this hotel. They made the stay so much more relaxing. We booked four treatments between the two of us. The treatments were absolutely amazing and the ladies were incredible. They were extremely knowledgeable on what they were doing and spoke me through the process. I came out feeling extremely relaxed. We ate both nights at the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. The vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant is so relaxing. They have an amazing wine list and the staff gave me some tasters of the wine before I chose one. It is on the pricey side, however when you factor in everything it is completely worth it and I would definitely be looking to visit again. I have attached photos to show just how incredible this place is.

1st came here in 1984 for my 16th birthday with my Dad. It holds very fond memories for me and I'm local. My friend took me for a boozy lunch as a thank you. The menu is locally sourced and innovative. There's a £29 set menu and other menus available. The walled kitchen garden is a must see, the location is stunning. It's very relaxed and the staff are a delight.

We visited the restaurant only! We were lucky that we found a table after reservation of few days! Exquisite recipes!!! I really love that restaurant! As far as I heard, everything that they cook is fresh, harvested from their own fields! They also encourage local suppliers and farmers by using only local products! Amazing!!!! They also had a huge area with free deers!!!! 🥹❤️🤗
