Good place to stop for a beer before or after the trip.

I called in at the Piccadilly Tap on my way to Manchester Picc station to get the train to Sheffield. I'd past a number of hostelries that didn't look much to my liking but the Picc Tap appeared somewhat more promising. Wow....what a place !! A nice cosy atmosphere, an excellent choice of beers and welcoming staff. I chose the Abbeydale Heathen at 4.1% and it turned out to be one of the best draught beers I'd had in a looong time. As I suspected, it was actually brewed in Sheffield at the Abbeydale Brewery. Absolutely packed with flavour and not overly hoppy. I have to single out one of the bar staff although I didn't catch his name but we chatted about music and bands as I'd just come from the Gorilla having seen Nada Surf. I think one of the best gigs I'd ever been to. So I recommended one or two artists and the guy behind the bar did also. Unfortunately, he had clientele to serve and I had a train to catch, and so I had to dash off but I just felt obliged to give the guy a mention. Thankfully, I managed to catch the last train to Sheffield, unlike earlier in the year when I had to spend an uncomfortable five hours in the station having missed the last train. All in all, a top place prompting me to leave a review and a very worthy five stars !!

Love this place, always got a great selection of beers. I love trying new beers each time we're off on the train somewhere. Staff have always been friendly here, it does get very busy though but staff are always efficient. Highly recommend

Hands down the best bar/pub in Manchester. Not only does it have an amazing selection of beer, it also has a really nice upstairs decking overlooking the street and the customer service is 5 star. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful if you can’t decide what beer to have. Special shout out to Ceri who went above and beyond and posted my sunglasses back to my house in Essex (after I stupidly left them on the table). Really good communication and understanding! Overall, a must visit when travelling to Manchester (even if it’s for a quick beer before your train!).

I have used this bar for a while and they serve a range of decent beers. However, the way they abruptly deal with last orders needs reviewing. There were at least 6 people waiting to be served at 1030 on Weds 23 Oct when they were flatly refused service.

Great ales. Barmaid was a bit frosty.

Excellent beer with a Excellent atmosphere.

Stopped going here years ago, but a friend chose it for a rendezvous as it is well located station approach. The steel seats have been replaced, but the interior is all hard surface, noise deafening and prices high. Left after one pint.

Decent selection of local beers and ciders but not much of an atmosphere because it's just a shop front on the approach that's been turned into a bar. Fair play to them, it's about as good as it could be considering the premises and the location.

Super location but service unfortunately was not great. Had a number of people served who came after us served before us and got told off when we tried to place our order.

A great craft beer bar just outside the station. Loads to choose from.

Has a nice balcony where you can overlook the delights of Piccadilly in all its roughness and entertainment lol. Given its in the roughest part of town its surprisingly expensive for a pint (which is the norm now) but its a cool little place to stop off for a pint in - Nice bar staff and good balcony to people watch the zombies on.

Bar staff were great & very pleasant, Ale was very nice (Manchester prices). Ironically the only people breaking the rules were the friendly door staff, smoking actually in the doorway & stinking the entire pub out. (5 stars if it weren't for that). And closing was earlier than stated.

When I called in, there was Northern Soul playing, and better still, 3 gluten free beers on offer. Wonderfully close to the station.

It's a great bar. Good selection of real ale and reasonable price. I did notice at the end of the night the staff were more interested wrapping up than serving which is annoying as customers should come first!

A quick stop off for a sandwich and coffee

Always been a bit 50/50 on this place, but I'm warming to it over the years! it's on the "ramp" down from Piccadilly and has, as you'd expect from a station pub, a right old mix of customers which can make it a good, or bad experience... Decent range of cask and keg beers, fairly dark and "divey" on the ground floor but a lot brighter upstairs. it's pretty much the only beer place close to the station until you get to the "hipster arches" or around Hilton street.

It's a usual stop on route home, but it's definitely worth a visit! They have suck a large selection of beers/ales that will meet all your needs! Plus, I think they do food!

Arriving at Manchester Piccadilly Station and in need of a beer. So impressed with the station bar - Piccadilly Tap. Fabulous beer board. Lovely balcony to enjoy a cold beer and observe.

My favourite place near Picadilly when luckily the trains are a good hour away ;-) - Place for Real Ale Real Lager aficionados.(does pizza apparently..)

Modern bar on station approach..huge cask and craft beer selection in simple surroundings a large up stairs room opens out onto.a lovely terrace looking over the busy area. Sitting outside downstairs is great for people watching using the big railway station

Great in here for a quick coming/going from Manchester. Always have an interesting selection of beers on too, never too busy either.

This place is ideal for anyone like my partner who loves ale and is always eager to try new ales. This place had a large offer of ales. I however timed it unlucky as the cider options were 2 and both were still ciders where as I prefer a fizz to mine. I did try but couldn't drink much but that's a personal taste. The bar staff was friendly and it is located just outside of Piccadilly Train Station.

This was a fantastic pub for drinking, located conveniently in Manchester Piccadilly station! The counter has a slick metal style and the design is nicely modernized, with comfy leather seating where I enjoyed an Old Mout Cider.

Great beer selection and the bar man gave excellent service and recommendations. They have live djs some nights and it's also worth noting that they're DOG FRIENDLY!! So helpful when off to get a train with your dog and fancy a cheeky beer.

Very good pub in a former shop unit on the approach to Manchester Piccadilly Station. Five cask beers on handpump when I last visited including a porter. The bar on the ground floor is largely a standing area. Upstairs is a seating area with bench, pool table and toilets and a terrace overlooking Piccadilly approach. Relatively quiet before the Spurs game at Old Trafford.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon , about 12 people downstairs and a few more upstairs.The IPA I had was lovely in a nice chilled boozer.

Not the best place to go in Manchester I am afraid, but it is alright. It is too pack because it's right next to the train station. It is big, they do have a bunch of different beers and an upstairs floor with a billiard. Not bad for a beer before taking your train.

Perfect place for some craft beer before you catch the train. Plenty of local options available too. Outdoor seats are great in the summer
