Lovely little place with - as the name suggests - a Saturday afternoon pianist. Service great but delivery a bit disappointing - rose we ordered not available, beer again not available but alternatives provided with no fuss. Food however not so brilliant - sourdough streaky bacon sandwich was all bread - needed thinner bread or more bacon: quiche of the day had virtually no bacon at all or no filling that I could taste but the main issue was it was served absolutely boiling hot - I burnt my mouth so had obviously been put in microwave creating a soggy bottom - not so good. So very very many cafes in Saffron Walden to choose from not sure we’d go back again sorry.

Very friendly staff get to know you. Very good cakes. It's become my regular coffee stop. No disabled toilet, public ones are a short distance away.

The most friendly coffee shop in Saffron Walden. Always a great welcome. Delicious food and a good selection of cakes. Coffee always excellent. Would definitely recommend.

We as a party of 10 we were greeted and were seated at a large table upstairs great it looked a bit cramped down stairs. We had various drinks, different types of coffee etc. The cakes were very good the carrot cake was wonderful. Service very efficient and friendly. Well worth the visit.

We would highly recommend this little cafe/bistro in ther heart of Saffron Walden. It has friendly, welcoming staff with a varied menu supplying a good food of food at very good prices. It is very nicely decorated and the music is a bonus. We are not local, but we will definately call again whenever we are in the area.

Such a lovely atmosphere - the perfect place for an impromptu lunch during the day or drinks and sharing boards with friends in the evening. The wines come from a local merchant - great to see independent businesses supporting each other. The owner is so welcoming and accommodating. And of course, there’s the piano - look out for events with local pianists/singers (or, alternatively, when your friend’s boyfriend turns up to play chauffeur, get him to play the piano first!).

Sitting with a coffee and cake in The Piano is like sitting with a coffee and cake in a good friend's home. It's very relaxed, but at the same time very professional. There is a piano on the ground floor and customers are welcome to play it.

This was my first visit to The Piano, which is tucked away behind George Street. It was a Saturday afternoon and the cafe was very busy. It is set over two floors so although the ground floor was full there was plenty of room upstairs. The staff were fast, efficient and attentive. I chose a latte and carrot cake and my partner a lemonade and chocolate fudge cake. The home made cakes were of generous portion size and very good. The coffee was excellent as was the lemonade. The prices were very reasonable and I would recommend a visit.

The new owners have carried on where Adiele left off. Excellent range of cake and good fresh coffee. They have added a Guinness pump, which was great on a hot day. Always a pleasant experience.

As previously mentioned the place is now under management. Firstly, there is now a very good range of cake’s including a very nice latte cake. The staff are very friendly. I think there were more staff than customers. I hope the new owners will continue to improve this place. It’s definitely gone up in excitations.

Piano is under new management and is a lovely, relaxing experience. Lunches are always excellent, the coffee is great and Kerri and her staff are attentive and friendly. We actually went twice today. Once for coffee and cake, then returned for a delicious Ploughman's lunch. I can't recommend Piano highly enough!

The Landlord is a morbidly depressing person holding a hound dog expression and struggling to raise a smile or engage in a conversation . Very off putting not at all welcoming
