The Phoenix Chinese Takeaway in Islington

Special curry, the meat was so hard you could not cut, it was replaced with a chicken curry with the meat equally tough. However, the salt and pepper squid was lovely as was the pancake rolls, such a shame the people are lovely.

horrible restaurant does not give any sauce. The man behind the counter is a pig. would not recommend.

I’ve been using this takeaway since it first opened, and IMO it’s gone steadily downhill over the years but tonight it was awful and definitely the last time I’d eat from there, The pancake roll was tasteless as was the beef in. Black bean sauce, there really is nothing authentic about the dishes served here, it seems like good Chinese food is like gold dust

I have been eating here for 25 years and it’s as good now as it always was, there are improvement to be made, namely to their hygiene rating 3 out of 5 but the food is beautiful and very good service

This has been here for years over 25! Takeaway service very good. Food always of good standard. Haven't visited for ages as moved away from the area but did not disappoint on recent visit.

I have noticed recently that takeaway prices have started to creep up towards full restaurant prices, which is a pity, because takeaways were always the cheap alternative to eating out. The Phoenix is that good old-fashioned takeaway that offers great food in large portions at cheap rates. The average main course cost less than £5.00. I liked it so much that I ate there twice in a week!

Had singapore vermicelli and chicken with vegetables. It came out in a flash and was well cooked. Chicken was tender, Singapore verm was nicely spiced and there were plenty of goodies in it.

You have to know the food. Really, I was in HK for a few years and this is pretty good. It's authentic, the food is tasty, the egg fried rice with pork has that tang you get from chinese sausage and char shu meat. Love it

From the customer service when ordering to the quality of the food, this is one of the best Chinese takeaways we've had, and we've tried what seems like them all! Possibly slightly above average in terms of price, but that may just be because its been a while since ordering Chinese, but call them direct rather than go through Just Eat and you'll save a few quid. Food came 10 min earlier than they said and the quality was outstanding, real ingredients and plenty left over for lunch the next day. Looking forward to going back!

Un piccolo take away cinese, un bancone dove ordinare fra troppe pietanze, una finestra interna che lascia intravedere una cucina. Molto frequentato da persone del quartiere. Lo abbiamo provato..... Economico, le minestre sono da evitare, il resto...... riempe lo stomaco....

After working late one night and staying in a near by hotel I wanted something quick to eat. I was recommended the takeaway by a girl on the reception desk of my hotel. A short walk later (about 7 minutes) I was browsing the full and extensive menu and placed my order. The food came piping hot, very tasty and absolute mountains of it. Was very reasonably priced as well consider the quality of the food and the amount you actually get. Will revisit

This is a takeaway not a restaurant. Vey good choice and excellent quality. Service quick, and reasonably friendly. Kung Po prawns. Lunch time specials very good value. Recommended.

A tasty and good value take away. Sauces were strong and good quality. Food fresh and hot. Good quality meat. Not many decent takeaways left but this is one.

Happened on this place by chance. Stopped in bought some takeaway, very nice. Might not look like much but it's worth a stop. They have a very reasonable lunch menu, service is quick as well. Food is really tasty and it was a pleasant surprise. Definitely give it another visit
