This place is called The Perseverance because they serve you the most disgusting, burnt edged , oily, too much tomato paste, pizza ever & if you need food, you have to persevere to eat it.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Cod and chips were very good. Drink prices high but this is London. Generic white wine £10. Ate upstairs in comfortable room. Be aware, no high chairs available if you are traveling with small child. Bar itself was very busy on a Friday afternoon. Order food at bar, order was quickly taken. All in all would go again.

We had a party booked for lunch, we were greeted and looked after by Lewis who gave us great food recommendations, we ended up ordering the bar tapas, which all looked and tasted amazing (Especially the truffle chips!!!).A large range of gin was offered to us which were all served in giant goblets. Nice atmosphere. We were there at a Saturday evening around 6 pm. The choice for food was starters, pizza or burger, which was a bit limited, esp as we had read reviews about fish & chips etc. They are not on the menu anymore. The chips & platter to share were ok, though relatively little for £16 cured Italian meats. The choice of draught beer, including Camden Pale Ale, Bloomsbury lager and Camden lager made up for it!

A real find for both pizza and beer. There was a small choice of pizza and an Insalata pizza was chosen. It arrived freshly prepared and cooked within about 10 minutes, piping hot. There were several different meat toppings on a soft pizza base. Delicious and filling. The beer was from Reunion ales , a west London brewery - Opening Gambit - a very quaffable 3.8% in good condition. A very enjoyable drink to accompany the food. Recommended.

The Perseverance is very much a pub serving the local community of Lambs Conduit Street in Bloomsbury. A lot of local workers from the various neighbouring hospitals drink in here, together with nearby dwellers, and, of course, some tourists. It’s a good and noisy and busy pub. I love this slightly off the beaten track London Boozer. Went there for my 3rd visit last night, often stay around Queen Square/Bloonsbury on business. There's always a good selection of real ales on handpull and cracking kegs - Sharps Howling Wolf, Camden IPA, Blue Moon, to name just 3 I sampled. The gastropup menu is cracking and the home made fish finger sandwiches with sweet potato fries are a very reasonably priced tea when a restaurant visit doesn't quite float the boat. A pint, main and side dish for less than £13. MArvellous.

My son and I had lunch and a couple of pints on Saturday before heading off to Emirates to see Arsenal win over Lincoln City. Although I'm sure it's a much rowdier place in the evening, that afternoon we found it to be a quiet and sunny place with friendly customers and a wonderful and knowledgeable bartender. We tried the Kernel's pale ale and Camden Town's hells lager: both were delicious, especially the Kernel. Nicely done Cumberland sausage and mashed potatoes for me, and a huge burger and chips for the lad. Well done, Perseverance: the next time we come to London for a soccer game/football match we'll be coming back!

Been here quite a few times as local - Sundays forget as dead but week days busy and nice atmosphere- except half of the bar staff. The moody shorter girl especially tries to make you feel like your doing her a favour to order there. - was ordering a food order and drinks for a table. - was shouted at by her for not being 'loud enough' with my order. Had many eye roles and she got the drinks Order wrong from her not listening then acting like it was the end of the worldWhen your after a few drinks and food after work the last thing you want is a moody teenage barmaid who looks like she is in pain having to be polite to customers. Get rid of her and I'd gladly come back as the bar is quite nice. But dealing with her is a bit like pulling teeth.

Advertises itself as a craft beer pub with its own brewery and smokehouse. It's website shows many interesting craft beers on a blackboard. When I visited they only had a kernel and brewdog punk. Everything else was standard pub beer. They even had written Becks up on the blackboard as a craft beer! They didn't have any of their own beer as claimed. Their menu was standard pub food - Sunday's roasts, fish and chips etc . There was no smokehouse. If I stumbled across this pub by chance it would have been ok but I felt extremely disappointed after reading its misleading advertising.

I went on Friday night for a work party. We work round the corner so have been before, and I actually had the exact same experience both times. So we're all about to order food and as the menu doesn't have any indication of a gluten free option, I went to the bar to ask. I know this is annoying. I know everyone who doesn't have celiac disease thinks it's just some diet people are on to lose weight and avoid carbs (carbs by the way, don't = gluten). I asked if there was anything on the menu which is gluten free. The lady behind the bar replied, 'don't know, probably not to be honest.' I said, 'nothing at all? Could you check for me please?' She reluctantly went to the kitchen to ask and returned to say, 'yea I don't know, we don't actually prepare the food we just order it in, so we don't know'. This astounds me. I went to a remote countryside pub a month ago that had a menu with gf options on it.In the end, I ordered the salad: chicken, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, broccoli and avocado, which I'm pretty gutted about and to be honest the pulled pork or the chips could well have been gf, but how would I know?! I said 'I have ordered this before and it turned up, a load of lettuce with some dry chicken, so please can you just make sure it comes with all the bits.'My salad arrived, a lot of lettuce, dry chicken, a bit of pepper and tomato. No avocado, no broccoli. This is a central London pub and I'm completely shocked that the concept of gluten free is so alien? Anyway, I'm sure that everyone else I was with had a good time, but it was a bit rubbish for me.I did try to email the pub before writing a bad review, but my email just bounced back.

Top marks for serving a wheat beer brewed by the Camden brewery called Gentleman's WIT, this is absolutely stunning. If it's cold try the hot spiced cider, really nice blend of flavours, this is a treat on a winter evening. The good was okay, nothing to write home about, but tasty enough. The slow roast belly pork which could have done with roasting a lot slower and/or having an element of braising for the meat to help with its tenderness.I've returned for a drink but not eaten there again, there're better places close by. If you were looking to eat in a pub you were already drinking in you'd be happy enough, if you went out looking for a good meal you may be disappointed. That said, my standards are high.

Tornarci? Perché no?!

The originally Georgian 'Lamb', said to be second home to the Bloomsbury set, is where you're supposed to go in Lamb's Conduit Street. But despite its charms it can be a bit cramped and the nearby 'Perseverance' is a more spacious alternative. In a corner Victorian building it was equally quiet despite a bit of not too intrusive canned music. Friendly service from the tattooed barman, well spaced simple wooden tables and chairs. We enjoyed our beer battered cod, with peas and chips - but choose the 'french fries' over the rather unappealing 'fat chips'. Good range of draught beers and ciders, possibly more of the latter than usual as it was 'cider week'. On the warm November Saturday we were there they left the doors open and some autumn leaves blew in, producing a rather pretty effect on the dark wood floor. A good spot to break the journey if, like us, you're doing the pleasant walk from St Pancras station to the West End.

I've had drinks here after work in the sun - and they pull a decent pint and have a good selection of drinks. But today popped in for Sunday lunch and couldn't have been more disappointed...There were only 3 other people in there (but we ate early as we have kids). Someone eating alone and a couple who were drinking heavily and swearing inappropriately loudly given that we'd brought two kids in. The staff did nothing - very busy looking at a phone. We ordered from a very well written menu - roast beef and roast chicken with fish goujons for the kids. The goujons were actually passable - though the peas they came with were barely cooked. The beef was so tough - it was inedible and gave me indigestion. The carrots were cold - as in refrigerator cold - the 'roasted honey parsnip' were neither roasted enough to bite through, neither had they been in close proximity to any honey, the broccoli florets had those little yellow bits on indicating they are not fresh - and were so overcooked a toothless octogenarian could have bitten through them... I asked to switch my dish - and was recommended the beef brisket as the others were already half way through their meals I wanted something quick and was advised this was a great dish. 5 minutes later I'm told they had run out. In the end the Moo pie was acceptable but for £11.95 it's a total joke. You can get a Pie Minister pie - from their own restaurant on Leather Lane for half this with much better accompaniments and less swearing drunks. Totally unsuitable for families or people who like food. As we eat early with the kids - it's hard to know if somewhere is unpopular, or the rush hasn't started. Given that we left at 1.30 and no other customers had come in - it's safe to assume it's the former. Lambs Conduit Street is a beautiful thing - some swanky mens clothing stores, little café's and the Peoples Supermarket made famous by a TV documentary last year. But this is an embarrassment.

Attractive pub on the corner with hanging baskets of summer flowers.Found this place on a busy Friday evening on the hottest day of the year. Plenty of atmosphere with music and groups of colleagues and some tourists gathering as the evening went on.Menu of very good traditional pub choices. I had Free Ranger pie (chicken, ham and leek) with excellent fat chips. The beef pie my partner chose was also really nice. Staff were friendly but too busy which let the service down a bit. For example, we ended up having to clear the table of the previous customers' plates ourselves before our food arrived.Food was nicely presented and absolutely delicious.

Nothing remarkable about this place to be honest. Went a few times as our hotel was very close and people seemed to find the name enjoyable. It isn't very big, not very fancy, and I'm not even sure if it serves food. If you are nearby definitely pop in, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Looked great from outside but not great inside. Looks like it was once sparkling but not now I m afraid. We were also turned away at 5 to 4 for food as the kitchen stopped serving between 4-5, a little poor. The beer was nice but the rest found wanting

I went into The Perseverance for lunch last week, I have just started working off Lambs Conduit Street and always like to try the local pubs and restaurants. The pub was busy, as it was a Friday lunch, but we managed to sit down. First thing I noticed was their great selection of ales, I tried the Hackney Hopster which is a pale ale and also the Bloomsbury something… both were great. I had the lamb shank and my friend had the fish and chips. Lamb shank was tender with lovely creamy mash and was the...

I hadn’t been to this venue before, but had a good night. Good clientele in an intimate venue. The only downside is if you don’t have ice in your drinks, they don’t fill the glass, leaving a inch from the top. What cheapness. Never seen that before. I’d plan on going back, but hopefully this nonsense will stopped being practiced.

I have visited this coffee shop multiple times and it is just great. The coffee served there is the best you can get in the area!

I attended this coffee shop today and bought an oat cappuccino to take away. On past occasions my cappuccino has split all over my hand so I asked the lady who serves the coffee if she could put cling film over the cup to prevent spillage. She become irritated and snapped. I asked her for a cup holder and she again did not listen and put another cup on top. Subsequently when I reached home the coffee was spilled. I shall not be using the coffee shop again. Very rude lady.
