Lovely setting in a very picturesque craft centre style venue. I arrived a few minutes after my friend but we waited quite a while to be asked about drinks, despite there being around 6 staff members chatting nearby and it being a very quiet time and only 2/3 other tables filled, all of whom had been served and were eating. Our table was bot very clean, and the plasticky tablecloth was a bit incongruous to the setting. Food was nice if a little overpriced, portions very generous - most plates seemed to have significant leftovers. Coffee is not great. The staff were unfortunately the biggest let down. While those we interacted with were friendly and pleasant, we waited so long for service and for our plates to be cleared we almost felt we could have left without being noticed - trying to catch the attention of staff was like trying to pick up frogspawn, if I caught someone’s eye they immediately looked away. Would visit the centre again but not eat unfortunately, as it’s a bit pricey to be so underwhelmed.

Went with family to celebrate 45th wedding Anniversary. We have been many many times before but a while since visiting . The service was dreadful extremely slow despite plenty of staff. Waiting times to order far too long The cost for drinks and extra’s is absolutely ridiculous, same with the salads. Main have gone up to be expected with rising cost . When meals arrived we had to wait for salad didn’t arrive had to ask so most of us had to start the main. Surely that should have been out first. Any totally disappoint and felt over priced. Unfortunately it totally over shone the food . Will not be recommending again as we always have and doubt if we will return again . Sorry

Visited Pear Tree Creperie this afternoon and the visit was excellent from start to end. We were a family of six so we had quite a large order and both food and drinks arrived quickly, all together and was absolutely delicious. Lovely friendly staff too- I asked for water for our doggies which was no trouble at all even with how busy they were. It was enjoyed by all, especially by the four out of our six visiting from France ( the home of the crêpe) big thumbs up from them. Will definitely visit again.

I have fond memories of the creperie, first visiting as a child about 25 years ago and getting absolutely covered in Nutella! Over that time have visited for occasions, but hadn’t been back for quite a few years. The decor and rustic feel is the same, waiting staff are friendly and attentive. Whilst there I think I was willing myself to enjoy the food, having such fond memories, but it wasn’t up to the standard of before. French onion soup - the onions were thickly cut, not deep in rich caramelised flavour, cheese grated on top, not melted. Salmon crepe - wasn’t expecting the salmon to be cooked! Very salty, salmon needs soaking before prep as very salty from preservatives. Not sure is it was the eggs on the crepes but got very unwell a few hours after eating, stomach cramps and vomiting, chills… wrote off the rest of the day and had to go home. Not going to knock it down entirely as the staff were so attentive, the venue is gorgeous and soo many happy memories there, accepting it may have been an off day.

I happen to fall upon this place with my primary school age child. We had a great time here. Loved the crepes despite being gluten free. I had the special La Grand which was not my favourite. A little disappointed with the experience. We have been coming for over 20 years, but the prices have risen considerably, £3.50 for an individual bowl of iceberg lettuce, seems rather expensive. The menu says 'please ask' about a Craft Beer, Initially the waitress stated there was, but had no idea, then went to see the manager and came back announcing there wasn't one. Do not put items on the menu that you can't deliver on. I had booked in advance a table for 2 as it was my wife's birthday and we were put at a table for 6, not very intimate. The food was good, but I'm not sure if we would go again.

Recently, I came across this Midlands gem @thepeartreecreperie located just outside of Lichfield at @heartofthecountryvillage and decided to make this a Friday afternoon treat to myself ❤️ This! Was probably one of the best things I've eaten in a while. It's called a Galette - buckwheat flour savoury pancakes - loaded with salad, bacon, mushrooms, and goat's cheese. Heaven 😭😍 As their name may give away, they are also an excellent place for crepes.

You really can't go wrong with crepes. They're a fairly neutral taste and you just order the food you really like and that's it. You get handed a little packet of gastronomic delight. Your favourite food, put in a little servíng device. Mine was a sweet one, all maple-y and sugary. Could just as easily have been eggs and bacon, which I'm sure would have been just as delicious. However, the genius move here is the serving hatch. They didn't seem to have it open when I was there (It was fairly windy mind) but it must make them a fortune. You see, in people's minds there's a commitment, a positive action and a whole sequence of etiquette when you walk into a restaurant. It's not often an impulse action. There must have been thousands of folk who "Nearly" bought a crepe, but couldn't be bothered with the whole restaurant thing. But with a hatch, it's like buying a Twix from the corner shop. Walking round the village, brain says "Blood glucose a bit low........Sugar and carbs over there" and you say a few words to the lass stood in the window and in two minutes you have the answer to all your problems in your hand - Easy,.........And wonderful!!!

Both the savoury galettes and sweet crepes are really yummy and nicely presented, with lots of choice, and the truffle fries and spicy mayo are really good. We used to visit this place often when we first discovered it 17 years ago. The food was very good as expected. The only few things that let this establishment down was the poor slow service and it lacked the warm welcome we used to receive. It wasn’t busy so it was sad that after the slow arrival of our food no one came and asked if our meal was ok. To be honest we felt ignored. We didn’t receive the salads we ordered with our main and one of the desserts came so late we turned it away. These little things leave lasting impressions.

I've been a semi-regular customer here since it first opened when I was a child in the early 90s , so clearly I have great affection for it. It's "authentically" French, which you can tell merely by looking at the probably hundred or so French signs and pictures dotted around the inside walls of the building. It used to be managed by a charming French lady (who my family and I knew only as "Madame"), who retired several years ago before she handed the business down to her daughter. All the waiting staff wear stereotypically "French" stripey tops and they used to greet customers with a smiling "Bonjour!". Although the latter has seemingly been phased out, the menu itself is still littered with French names of dishes. One of these dishes, La complète (containing ham, a fried egg, and melted cheese) has been my go-to savoury galette ever since I first went there. It's delicious, although I keep meaning to ask them to please not garnish the top with "ghastly parsley" (as my mum would put it)! Over the years, the restaurant has opened the first floor in order to allow more room for tables due to its high popularity, and the menu has expanded to offer much more variety, including a selection of starters, more savoury galettes, more sweet crêpes (I can personally highly recommend the pear/apple/banana with chocolate sauce), and other desserts including "vegan ice cream" (don't ask me how ice CREAM can be vegan, but clearly it can!). The restaurant didn't used to have an alcohol license, but it does nowadays, evidenced by the fact that Baileys hot chocolate is on the menu, which again, I recommend if you want a hot drink with/instead of a dessert. Over 30 years later, the Crêperie is still my favourite Staffordshire restaurant at which to eat lunch, and I will no doubt return again very soon.

When our friend arrived we ordered, 3 of us had breakfast crepes and the other had a sweet one. They all looked very nice although maybe a little dry, they tasted very nice and bacon was very good. We've visited 'heart of the country' a few times in the past. Going on the spur of the moment, we've tried to get a table at this crepery - it's always been fully booked. Heard very good reviews. Visited this particular day, and managed to get a table, which was free for an hour. We only wanted to try the crepes really so this was ample. Service by a younger waitress was very friendly and efficient. Placed an order for 3 crepes - husband had nutella w/ nuts, I had maple syrup topping and our 3 yr old had nutella- we weren't made aware of a childrens menu so he had the adult portion. The crepes arrived very quickly - maybe too quickly, I'm guessing the had been prepared a while ago. Not sure. They were distinctly average, pretty bland to be fair and bot very warm. They didnt arrive with a garnish - a few berries on the side would have been nice. At £4.95 each I think they were very expensive for what they were - I was expecting better. Son didnt eat much of his as they were a bit of a chore to eat, so plain and cold. I wish I'd have ordered the version with fruit at £7.50 for for flavour, but I'm guessing that would have been a disappointment and overpriced also. Can't comment on the other meals they serve but if you're going for crepes, I certainly wouldnt recommend. You can make much nicer ones at home and they barely cost anything to produce. What a disappointment. We did go to visit the South African food hut after, and bought some delicious Biltong meat... that was money well spent on a great product. I felt a bit ripped off at The Pear Tree however.

Large portions,Terrific value. This operation is very well run by lovely staff. They also cater for gluten free diets and children. I will definitely return with both friends and family as one of my daughters is gluten intolerant. Another big tick. I visited here today with a friend that's vegan. We were so impressed with your menu, so many vegan choices AND desserts too! Food was just delicious! Thank you! I'm sure we shall visit again!

We came in for breakfast, but left the Strawberry Cabin feeling disgruntled due to what we were sold. Both of us had a sausage ‘bun’. But at £6.45 each we were surprised at the poor value for money. An average size sausage cut in half on a bread bun, poor to say the least. We buy Lashford sausage from our local shop, hence we know the different types Lashford do. The ones used by you that were served to us were on the smaller side of the Lashford range, hence one cut in half was a bit of a shock for the price you charge. A comparison at our local cafe Is £4.00 for two Lashford sausages plus two rashers of back bacon in a large bun. Very disappointed with Strawberry Cabin! Email sent to you, but only a reply saying ‘will pass email on to owner’ but nothing after that.
