Good beer comfortable ,nice pleasant staff treats for dogs

Lovely pub, staff and customers made us feel very welcome

This place is a real ale pub. Mainly catering for the people who like watching sport, providing a choice of different beers and spirits, and not expecting plush seating. Pleasent sheltered and smoking areas to the rear of this pub.

Small pub on the edge of the city. Wellu worth a look. Friendly staff and a good choice of real ale.

Great pub, real ale excellent and nice atmosphere and staff. Close to Derby (10 min walk) but without the busy city pub feel. A decent back street boozer. Here today to watch the rugby on an excellent television screen. Plenty of room in the back of the television in pub isn’t your thing. Karaoke on later this evening so a bit of something for everyone. Well recommended 🍺👍

Visited Saturday 28th January 2023, early afternoon. We used to go here a fair bit pre COVID; however, it seemed to go downhill somewhat after reopening. Pleased to say it's back to being a great pub... actually it's better than it was. Owned by Hartshorns (Belper House & Little Chester) the inside has had a makeover which was very much needed, it still has the Derby County football/sports memorabilia on the walls. Beer range is decent with Hartshorns and a couple of guest casks alongside craft beer on keg and lager, spirits and soft drinks are also available. Was almost empty when we went (we were early), although I think it gets busy at night. The guy behind the bar was great, really friendly and talkative like we'd know him for years. My only negative is the garden area, it's a decent space but could really do with a complete overhaul as it's looking neglected.

Great bunch of patrons as usual. Staff friendly. Feel comfortable going in there a lone female. Always someone to talk to, whether its a first time visit or as a returning customer.

It's a really nice pub & the bar staff are very friendly. Went to see Mick Moonshine & his country music disco. A really good night with great music.

Good choice of real ales, pleasant and accommodating staff. It's slightly off the main drag, but worth the visit & close to another worth going to pub, the Furnace Inn.

Slow bar service because 1 barmaid for 2 bars

A cliquey older locals pub where they stare at you for sitting in somebody's seat. Whole place in need of a good scrub before the regulars finally expire leaving nobody to replace them.

Great staff within a peaceful friendly classic pub

Always great for quality ale which Roger and Penny keep in superb condition. Visited the first night of their beer festival which didn’t disappoint. Every beer was spot on and the chat flowed all night until I left much later than I’d originally planned I was enjoying it so much. Brilliant pub. Thanks both.

This is a nice little pub no heir's or graces, they just need to realise that its not just real ale drinkers that enjoy a drink here , the lagers need to be looked after also . nice atmosphere and good guys behind the bar

Disable exeses in side very poor

A rare treat, a traditional pub that hasn't been modernised to death. Old school bench seats under a window, beer poured straight from a barrel and five more on draught. On that note I had Bass from the barrel and it was so good I strayed no further. The only downside is that Derbyshire list the cricket match.

Good quality range of beer and ciders available. Saturday nights are excellent for the live music c/w garden barbecue !! 💯

Friendly pub/landlord, flat beer

Lovely little pub. I come with my family sometimes when little bands are playing and the atmosphere is always amazing. BBQ was a bit on the expensive side so I started away from that and just ordered food when I got home. (Which was a bit of a pain because I was hungry, but I wasn't going to spend the price for one slightly burnt burger.)

Great simple home cooked food that doesn't cost the earth, super friendly environment and of course excellent ales and cider, a proper pub.

The Peacock is a great little pub. The sort of place that is rapidly disappearing. The beer is varied and in excellent condition. There is often a choice of nine ales and many of them locally sourced. It's a beer lover's paradise.

Good selection or real ales, but they are often light beers, both in colour and ABV. Look out for their beer festivals. Always an excellent selection.
