Fuimos a este restaurante con la familia y las relaciones, así que había ocho o nueve. Reservamos la gran mesa redonda y disfrutamos de la experiencia. Nos proporcionaron toallas repaso dos veces durante la comida. Elegimos una comida familiar y nos pareció que era más que suficiente, con un montón de variedad. Este fue un tipo de comida asiática que fue complementado con una amplia variedad de bebidas. Apreciamos la oportunidad de pausar el servicio antes del plato principal. Este es un excepcional, pero no barato, restaurante.

Por la noche del evento para el estofado irlandés irlandés con comida, fuimos a ver los propietarios semanas de antelación, explicó que era vegetariano, fue ofrecido a llevar mi propio y pagan la mitad de precio del billete, entonces me ofrecieron vegetales thai salteados en lugar de estofado irlandés. Yo estaba encantado, y podría tener una gran noche con amigos y comer demasiado! Sin embargo, en la noche, no había salteado tailandés, fue fideos en salsa de soja con verduras, que después de hacer cola había acabado todo el tiempo que me dieron! Hablé con el propietario, que era extremadamente offhanded, de hecho muy grosero y descarados. Como había otros esperando para servirte me senté atrás. Yo decidí ir y hablar con ellos al día siguiente. Sin embargo, unos minutos más tarde mi amigo me dijo que había más fideos, que debidamente fuimos por algo de esos sólo para encontrar esos también se habían terminado. Tras haber sido una decepción. Y ha dicho que había era se extienden más alimentos cocinados, me pareció que era sencillamente horroroso. Este también iba a ser los propietarios del lugar anoche, así que de nuevo hablamos de Chris. Nuevamente fue bastante desdeñoso, ni disculpas de ningún tipo, no obstante me mi dinero. Fue una decepción. Sobre todo cuando me agradecio para ir a verlos antes de comprar un boleto para que pudieran servir para mí! Muy decepcionante y no poner un amortiguador en mi noche. Me gustaría decir que el personal del bar es muy agradable, el ambiente es agradable, el sentido de la oscuridad banda era fantástico, todo a sólo estropeado por una falta total de interés por el propietario en la noche. No se les da la medida de su nueva aventura en los Obispos Bistro.

Primera vez que visité aquí todo el día y fue fantástico! Excelente relación calidad-precio para el té de la tarde (9 libras por cabeza de lo que recuerdo!). Buen precio, buena ubicación, y la señora muy amable, que era el propietario. Sin duda recomiendo y volveré a probar el menú de comida muy pronto! Es una pequeña joya de un lugar 💕

Me encanta este lugar. Su cómoda y acogedora. Como resudent de Bishop Auckland que estoy allí regularmente con mi pareja o amigos. También se celebró una fiesta de cumpleaños en junio y sé de muchas personas que usar el lugar para celebrar bautizos y cumpleaños especial. Hay entretenimiento regular y no hay nada mejor que sentarse en el suelo con un café o una botella de vino. X

Rude staff, chips which were in my view in-edible. Attractive surroundings with no atmosphere. Too expensive for what was on offer on the menu and too little choice. No provision for Gluten free customers either which exists in many other restaurants. A real shame.

Decidimos probar este lugar con un miembro de la familia para una comida ligera como había visitado aquí anteriormente como huésped en una fiesta de cumpleaños el año pasado, en los que el personal era muy profesional y cortés. No tuve esa suerte esta vez, el antiguo personal tenía por la izquierda o se han reemplazado por una chica que actuaron como si ella no quería estar allí. El servicio de atención al cliente era inexistente, sin contacto visual o incluso una sonrisa, comida tardó 20 minutos en llegar y no era adecuado, parecía sosa y el pan estaba muy seco. El café era aceptable, aunque había más café en el al platillo que en la taza. Yo no recomendaría este establecimiento a otros.

Friendly waiting staff, not very busy. Quite a long wait for piece of Quiche, which was cold. & Panini. Difficult to find something on menu not bread/pastry based. All served with crisps & quite nice salad leaves. A good place for a Party maybe.

Lovely, cosy surroundings with a fantastic sun terrace overlooking the cricket ground. Very dog friendly, inside or out with a fresh bowl of water on our arrival. This was the most friendliest welcome in the town I've ever experienced!!

We called into the Pavilion for the first time today to sample what was on offer. The eatery consists of a large room with a nice view over the cricket ground. We ordered soup which happened to be broccoli and stilton. This took quite a while to arrive so our expectations were high. While we were waiting the food arrived for the two women on the table next to us. One of them was having a baked potato which looked like it had gone through quite an ordeal in the kitchen. Its skin was almost black and looked very leathery – this was not a good omen. When our soup arrived we could only say that it resembled a thick green sludge and tasted pretty horrible. This was a real disappointment as this is simple food that someone with basic skills could prepare quite adequately in their own kitchen. To add insult to injury when the waiter asked my wife if the food was ok and she said, “It’s not very good.” This was not followed up. But why ask if you are not going to do anything? The food – all of it was unloved by whoever prepared it and deserved more care.

10 family and friends had gourmet meal. Absolutely delicious. Excellent staff, prices etc and well worth a visit. Soup, selection of ribs, chicken wings, prawn toast etc, followed with crispy duck pancakes.... Then main meal of yummy lemon chicken, pork, beef prawn dishes and rice. Coffee and complimentary drinks . 3 persons had birthdays during the week so staff bought icecream with candles ..a great touch and appreciated.

I found an hair in my food and it was obvious that hair was in the food shall not come again and no one should visit it's a waste of time and money

We recently held our wedding reception at the Pavilion on the 24th of July a venue with a lovely welcoming feel. The decor was clean and decorated to a high standard. The hosts Chris & Joanna could not do enough for us the whole 8 hours they were very attentive and delivered exceptional service. Their staff were professional, helpful and very hardworking. The venue was intimate while being central and easy for guests to find. For our wedding breakfast we had afternoon tea and a hot buffet on the evening all the food supplied was of high quality and would recommend using the inhouse catering. All of our guests loved the food and returned for food more than once commenting on how good the food was. The entertainment was also provided with a very enthusiastic DJ. The team at the Pavilion have helped us create some very special memories with our family and friends and thank you is not enough for making our day perfect.

This was our first visit to the pavilion. Our first impressions were good, the decor and furnishings are fabulous. However the food was average, my starter of haddock and poached egg was dry and over cooked. I did mention this to the waiter to no comment at all!! Such a shame that that the food and service let down what was an enjoyable evening here. We definitely will not be visiting again.

We only live a few minutes away and this was our first visit. Sunday lunch and sweets for a family of six with drinks for £63 can't be bad. Plenty on your plate for the money and we all left very full. Lovely surroundings and will be visiting again soon I'm sure. Go on give it a go.

have only been here at parties so was surprised to see how nice it was as a restaurant, I ordered the fish and chips, I wasn't to keen on the fish as it had a peculiar texture so wasn't cod or haddock not sure what it was, despite this the rest of the meal was lovely with proper mushy peas, very friendly staff will definitely visit again

Second visit on a friday booking was a sham. First visit was brill but this visit was like an established place that didnt have to true. Service was poor. Starters were tasteless. Mains were bland and one was from specials board. Both mains had parts missing we had to ask for. Fish n chips id had before...batter soggy, chips burnt, peas were tasteless. My partner had the special of sea bass... overdone n dry on a bed of shrivelled n dry tomatoes n we had to ask for the chips which were burnt. Service n politeness definately changed in less than a month. Highly recommend eden arms in west auckland. Their food prices n attention to detail are brill. Basic courtesey is standard which even a major change like wetherspoons can do. The pavillion have gone downhill.

We were going elsewhere for Saturday lunch but ended up outside The Pavillion at the traffic lights. Went in and got 2 scallop & black pudding starters and had chicken breast mains they were huge and both had lovely sauces. When we went to pay the bill was pleasantly surprised to find it was 2 meals for £15 absolute bargain will defiantly be going back .

It was my mums birthday and we wanted somewhere local and new to try in Bishop Auckland. I noticed it in the local 'Bishops Press'. What a surprise! Modern deco with a comfortable feel. The staff were friendly and polite (especially, the young girl serving). Nothing was too much bother for any of the requests we made. The 'Real Deal' with the food is, it was delicious, no joking! We are all still talking about it the next day. We recommend any of the scallop starters and if you like black pudding, don't miss this. The steaks were cooked perfectly to order. The fish and chips with the black sheep batter was especially good. Good quality ingredients. We are definately going back to try more of the menu and the Tapas/Sunday Menus.

Recently celebrated my wife's 60th birthday party at the Pavilion. Great food and service from Chris and his team. Would definitely recommend this venue for its décor and facilities. The restaurant is well decorated and is an ideal location for a family celebration.

i attended a christening on the 1st of February an amazing service in the church and then we came here to a private function on the way in round the back door!! There was smashed glass everywhere which I took photos of the food was not what was asked for I personally am allergic to mushrooms and everything was full of them now before I go any further I have been in senior management in the hospitality industry I was disgusted with this place followed with the attitude of the staff!!! The chef came out and told the people who were paying for the hot buffet etc that he done what he could but would try and see what he can do he then presented us with frozen chicken in some kind of buttery sauce and also some rice to go with the curry as there was none out!! On top of all this the woman at the bar had said she would decorate the place and make it really nice I know this because I was there the day before!! When Mrs Courtney asked why this wasn't done the lady went away then came back and slammed in on the bar!!!! She then went in a complete strop and didn't speak to anyone in our party for the rest of the day!! The best part of the whole thing was the young barman came out and helped and we all put up the banners etc in front of all the guests who were all very unhappy with this Mrs Courtney spent a lot of time and money for the perfect day for her 2 girls and was left very upset Mr Courtney who is also in hospitality senior management was disgusted with the quality of food presented and the completely unprofessional approach to holding a function! There was also a environmental health person within the party who was disgusted we will not ever return to this place.

For once I could not wait to get home to write a review. The restaurant is small but newly decorated which gives it that comfortable feel. Our table was beautifully themed for the occasion with personalised ornaments. The staff were great and came at the right times. We did not feel forgotten or rushed which is hard to achieve. Complimentary drinks to add to the romance. The food was amazing! Where do I start when it comes to the food. The chorizo starter was fantastic. The sauce which accompanied my chicken meal was to die for and my husband couldn't even manage his dessert due to the generous portions. I was genuinely shocked at the great value for money and would recommend this place to anybody. Perfect night. Perfect staff & compliments to the chef! Mr & Mrs Chamley.

My girlfriend and I visited on the 11th of February without a reservation. The waitress managed to squeeze is in by moving another booking to a different table. Very good start. Food was delicious. I had a medium rare sirloin cooked the perfection and my girlfriend had smothered chicken which she said was very good. As it was steak night we were told that my food came with a free coffee and dessert. I got my dessert after my main no problem, however there was only 2 choices for dessert. There was no further mention of my free coffee. After the meal we asked for our bill and it was brought over quickly. The waitress put the bill down in front of me and said I assume this is for the gentleman, this seems to me very unprofessional and sexist. We waited for 5 mins or so to pay, I even got up to go to the bar to do so, only to be told to it down and someone will come over. 5 more minutes went by until someone came to take payment. When they came to take payment the card machine didn't work, until someone came from the kitchen to sort it out after numerous failed attempts.

We have visited here for Sunday lunch a couple of times which was always really good value and we thought we would call in for some lunch whilst shopping. We both chose Cod and Chips and were not disappointed. A big, plate, a big portion, but we made through it. The homemade chunky chips were very very good. We will return.

our first time at the pavilion a couple if weeks ago and we were more than pleasantly surprised! New decor is fab, service was great. Wine was good and the food was lovely! Great value for money. Next thing to try will be the tapas. Lovely local venue!

First time at the Pavillion for food and it was fantastic, brilliant service, lovely cosy atmosphere, tapas was lovely and we will definitely be back. Have been in twice just for drinks too and when we are out in Bishop it has become part of our route. So glad there is a place we can now visit for lovely food which is practically on our doorstep. Cannot recommend it highly enough, if you haven't been yet then your next meal has to be here! Also being a gin lover I am so happy to see a fab gin collection!

Lovely atmosphere, tastefully refurbished with great staff, the town has needed somewhere like this for ages if you want an alternative to pub food or want to have a few drinks without having to venture into the town (nowhere decent for us 40 something's). Food was v good, agree with previous post about the chips being excellent, starter of scallops and chorizo was ok, however burger for main was well worth the money and the creme brûlée tart for dessert was lush (pls keep this on the menu). My only little niggle is I would've preferred the cream served in a separate jug, but thats just personal preference. Hubby had the rib eye which was perfectly cooked and was a very generous portion.Would have no hesitation recommending The Pavilion to anyone.Keep up the good work guys, Bishop needs you!!

Visited Friday night. I normally leave chips but these were extremely tasty.chef said has a trade secret on treating potatoes 3 days before cooking

Seen the posts on facebook and in much need of a new eating out place, we decided to go to "The Pavilion". What a pleasant delight it was. Sophie who dealt with us was amazing and very friendly, but not in our face. I had the scallops & chorizo - really tasty and well presented. Lisa had the black pudding & peppercorn sauce - not the most flavoursome but was still a nice starter. I followed up with a ribeye steak and it was a superb choice - exactly how a steak should be served with chunky made chips and the most crispy and juicy onion rings.... Spot on. My wife had the chicken and Stilton sauce, which again looked as good as it tasted. What really finished off the night was the bill, dining out for under £40. Eating out a lot and understanding the pressures on new businesses like this I really hope people support this great place and give it a go. Well done Sophie, Chris, staff.

Absolutely loved our first visit to The Pavilion. Lovely staff, attractive surroundings, great range of real ales too!The staff were managing both a full restaurant and a full function room extremely well. A good night for all! Special mention for the Pasta Marinara - The proportion of seafood to pasta was superior! Best I've ever had! Make sure you reserve a table, or you won't get in!It really is fantastic news for Bishop Auckland to have such a great venue.

Having been involved at bishop Auckland cricket club for over 35 years, Chris Robinson and his staff has turned the place into a really lovely place to spend an evening, great music and atmosphere and the food is as good as you will get any where. This place is a gem. Advise to book as it is getting busier by the week.
